    Rule says, SO FAR AS POSSIBLE avoid altering to port...its giving us choice..to go to port if required, and rule 8 (c) says If there is sufficient sea-room, alteration of course alone may be the most effective action to avoid a close-quarters situation provided that it is made in good time, is substantial and does not result in another close-quarters situation.
    And on other hand its detected by radar alone, i.e no sound signal has been heard, we are not sure of type of vessel or any limitations that vessel may have ...so its a zone of conflict ...
    So why we can't alter CO° to port and keep clear of the B6 vessel...
    I mean we should have both the options.
    Speed as well as CO° alteration..
