Petey is in the very early days of his contract. Yes, he's been disappointed so far, but I don't think he is Elias Huberdeau. Fans have a right to be impatient, but only Petey and management can work this out, not the fans. For sure I trust the current management and coaching staff, and I still have some faith that Petey will get going.

Thursday morning, Nov. 7. As a subscriber to this channel I'm not interested in public relations/wishful thinking/unjustified hype about Elias Petterson from guys like Laurence Gilman. I'm only interested in his current stats, which I follow on the daily updated NHL League Leaders list. For the 5th Highest Paid Player in the NHL, Petterson's stats are terrible. He is currently at #293 with 2 goals and 3 assists. There are 9 other Canucks ahead of Petterson right now --- Suter 270, DeBrusk 236, Blueger 233, Heinen 223, Sherwood 192, Garland 100, Miller 91, Boeser 69, and Hughes 59. Spare me the talk --- as a longtime Canucks fan going back to the WHL pre-expansion days, I'm only interested in performance and seeing this guy justify the huge money he's getting. Currently he's a complete disappointment, and until he gets up into the Top 100 with his teammates, I'm not buying into the hype.

5th in the league in salary....273rd in scoring. he shouldn't be having 'good' games...he should be having electrifying great games.
it's so hard for anyone to admit that the Nucks HUGELY OVERPAID this player

Caveat, his knee is still hurt. His production fell off last season cause of his knee and its still not healed fully.

It’s not him it’s tocchets system why do think he’s so disinterested in games. He needs to be that mcdavid type of player not saying he’s as good but he needs the supporting cast and system built around him. He can’t be a two way forward when he’s a playmaking sniper. That why his production is low and he’s learning that why it’s so frustrating for him. As kids we learn math and when we f up we get disinterested it takes reps and time. This might be a down year for him but he can bounce back later. Obviously his production is low and not worth his contract but it takes time.

@@manmeetshergill3628 At the beginning of last season, Pettersson was playing well, on pace for 120 points over the first 40 games, with the same coach and system.

@@lastresort3188 I call BS on that...if he was injured in just the slightest of ways, management would rehab him before he plays...there's NO WAY they are going to jeopardize the safety of a 93 million dollar player, especially at the start of the season....it's not like there's 20 games left and you need to play him....think about it

@ Petey himself said his knee isn’t right and the rumours are it isn’t something that will get worse while playing. It’s basically a time thing so if he can manage the pain, let him play
