i am going to be living in a tent by the end of the month on a friend's property due to losing my job as a result of COVID-19. thank you for this video.
@@vanessaruiz4705 are you kidding? Some people haven't been able to work for 9+ months due to all the lockdowns. People are losing their jobs, businesses, houses. Pretty much everything they got! @@danielswatske519 That already happened, courtesy of Lincoln. What do you think the civil war was actually about? It was not about ending slavery or whatever other fake news of that era claimed it to be, it was about the british-backed northern states attempting to force the southern states into a union they wanted no part of, because the southern states would have sacrificed their national independence (all states that make up the union are/were independent and sovereign nations). The southern states opted not to participate in congress, as was their right to do, so lincoln declared a national emergency + martial law and convened a partial congress, and declared war on Americans. The rest is history... to this day the US is merely a private corporation posing as a de facto government, and neither martial law nor the national emergency has been lifted. Think about that.
Wood stoves make excellent companions. It's great to see people warming up to the idea of co-habitating with wood stoves instead of locking them in a basement.
if you buy a small welders blanket, you can set the stove right on it and leave the floor zippered. Ive been using one and the embers ive dropped on it will not burn thru
God bless you my friend!! I too have seen the light and became a camper and wake up to such beautiful. My world is so beautiful now being in the wilderness with God's creatures. I am so mad at myself I didn't do this years ago!!
So glad I could leave you a message friend. Bricks. Bricks under your stove, around the back wall, stack bricks, not only for weight to pin your tent down, but as a huge heat sink. Bricks will warm up and.keep the ground below you warmer which keeps your tent warmer. Get the big stackable kind for back wall, and regular red brick for the floor under and around the stove. Over all the exposed dirt, and just into/onto the tent floor. Fire safety will go up too. But so will your comfort level! Make them all the way out a bit, and your dog will have a favorite.place to sprawl too.
Teepees of buffalo and deer hides were waterproof, shed snow, heated up with a tiny fire, top flap was chimney with adjustable flue. Hard to out invent the people who lived it.
Authentic winter camping! Thanks. Regarding your tent stakes, I use a medium strength 5-6 in spring and sturdy rope tightener to combat wind force. I found that round steel tent stakes go into ground easier.
If you cut a piece of cement board or sheetrock to go under your woodstove, it will totally insulate your floor and you won't have to zip out the section under the stove. Great videos!
As a kid growing up our parents took use camping a lot. One thing I use to this day is a 3" x 2' piece of bicycle tubing. This is attached to the ropes that goes to the tent stakes. On windy days the tubing stretches and your tent stakes don't pull out.
Hi there. About the stakes coming out of the ground. I noticed the steepness of the guy lines... It would be a lot stronger if you extend the guy lines a lot longer to make the angle smaller to the ground. Nice set up b.t.w. thanks for making this video ! Cheers.
No doubt. It is going to be cheaper to get a used bigger tent to go around a smaller tent has more insulation for winter. It's -30 today I don't know how confident I feel about buying 2 tents a cot sleeping bag stove doubling as a propane heater. Dollar store candles and food and drink.
