I am a great Texas Southern band fan, but this is the worst 5th quarter I have heard from Texas Southern. They tried to be different for Jackson State, and they have made a complete mess of it.
I'm a TSU fan 💯% and I think they represented well until the 5th quarter. I have to say that I was kind of thrown by some of the song selections. TSU has a crazy book with a lot of great songs that they've only played once. Songs which I think are much better than the songs they replayed in the 5th against Jackson. So even if they didn't learn anything new they have so much material to choose from that they still could have put together a great 5th. It was very disappointing to feel like they didn't come prepared to battle because expectations were high that this would be as good if not better than the battle with Southern. I don't think they were trash by no means. That uncharacteristic hiccup they had on that third song was kinda crazy, but they recovered. But I do think this was a missed opportunity to make this a continued legitimate debate as they have with all of their previous battles over the last two years. This was very unlike them. So I wiil also give the nod to Jackson. Not overall, just the 5th.
