Needone 28L 150 count from amazon about $145, seasoned it with 85 Boveda kit for three days upgraded one shelf for two cedar drawers from advice of El Dey Rey Terrance (I messed that up 🙄) and can fit a boat load more of cigars so now have three drawers one shelf, digital hygrometer in each drawer and shelf along with little Govee action, got it loaded up with 65% Bovedas here in South Jersey , had some extra Cedar thin planks I added to very bottom of humidor just have more cedar ….super happy with it

I have the Needone 16L and love it. I have a small group of cigars. I did have to put tape over the drain hole so I could keep the humidity balanced at 66 and a temp of 68 with 2 boveda 69% and it is working fine for me.

Yea, I have a needone also, its great, my cigars in there are much better than the ones in my desktop. I keep it at 68% and every cigar is perfect. I have to keep the desktop one at 70% and each cigar is hit or miss, sometimes i get one that seems a little too humidified other times i get one that is under and cracks and is hot. I still use the desktop one for overflow, and keep the seconds in there, which I enjoy smoking when I'm playing a video game or doing yard work and not paying attention to the cigar.

I've got a 48L King Chii for a little more than a month and so far it has jept perfect temp and humidity. I keep the setting on 70 degrees and it keeps the temp between 68 and 69. The humidty I control by putting saran wrap over a portion of the water tray. It keeps my humidty where I want it 64 - 67%. The largest drawback is a non switchable door and that you need to open the door all the way 180 degrees to take the trays out. The lighting could be better too.

    • @BlackDotPatrick
      @BlackDotPatrick 9 месяцев назад

When I have it set at 70 degrees fahrenheit and 70% humidity in a room that is actually around 35% humidity and 70 degrees fahrenheit it does a wonderful job keeping the temperature at 70 and humidity at 70. I decided to lower my humidity to 65% and at first it didn't seem to do this but after a couple weeks, maybe three, I think it is finally down to 65% or so. I guess that makes sense as I had it full of cigars which were all at 70% themselves so I would expect it to take some time to reduce the overall humidity to 65% with all those cigars already at 70%. I'm not so sure about the temperature control as my room is at 70 and I typically have the humidor set at 70 so there's no real work for it to do. To test it, I'm setting the temperature down to 61 degrees fahrenheit and I will see if it handles that. I will report back in a day or so on that test. I like the unit but I'm not so sure how well the controls really work. I think maybe I'm just lucky that it happens to keep my cigars at 70 degrees and 70%. The unit runs quite often, you can hear it coming on and turning off. I'm not sure why it would need to run often as there really is no heating or cooling needed as my room is already at same temperature as where I have it set. And I rarely open it so you'd think the humidity would be stable inside too. I don't know if it's fighting against itself, maybe it raises something and then has to combat that and keeps going in cycles correcting itself.

@@BlackDotPatrick This is really great information Patrick thank you, although it doesn't give me full confidence to purchase that model. Trying to find something suitable for use in the UK however it's not too easy so far and the model you have seems to be one of my only options that I can find but with 0 reviews or outside info other than what's on Amazon it's a difficult choice. Anyway I look forward to your update, it seems your experience is the same as many others with these types of devices going crazy then combatting itself and many have bad experiences with these things so perhaps you are lucky that it seems relatively stable for you.

Raching has all interior boards made by cedar wood including the ceiling and 3 side panels, all cedar, and that may solve the problem of the plastic smell. Also it has two LED light bands instead of dotted led lights. It can also be controlled and monitored on your phone via WiFi. I strongly recommend you try one in the future.🎉

I own a New Air 250, and absolutely won't store my cigars inside it anymore. When it's turned on, fans blow air over the cigars 24/7. Sure, it's good to have even humidity levels throughout the unit, temperature control, and fresh air, but after 6 to 9 months of use, my cigars had drastically lost their flavor. I couldn't figure out why they were tasting bad. I transferred them to Sistema Tupperware, and sure enough their flavor came back. I also cleaned the inside of the New Air multiple times, aired it out for weeks, and still couldn't get rid of the smell of plastic. After 6 to 9 months inside, my cigars tasted like they had started to absorb the factory plastic smell. After a year of not using the New Air, my cigars taste better than ever and I'll never go back to it. I really hope you read this because a lot of people are buying New Air's and then wondering why their sticks are tasting bad. I'm very disappointed with it, especially with all the praising reviews out there from people who have most likely never used it. Cigars are not designed to have air blown on them 24/7, and they're definitely not designed to be stored in a device that reeks of plastic. I regret ever buying it and highly recommend staying away from similar types of humidors. The best storage for aging is a quality wooden desktop humidor (not particleboard), a cabinet, or Tupperware, not what appears to be converted Chinese refrigerators.

Hi Zach, I'm having the same problem. Not sure what to do! I bought a King Chii 58L. Its the one where you but distilled water on the bottom. Set it up correctly and set the temp and humidity to 70/70. I put all my cigars in there and everything seemed fine. After about a month my cigars started to have a bitter taste. All different brands had the same bitter taste. I thought it was cause the humidity was low. I had a hygrometer and it was reading 63%. So I took everything out and put them back in my humidor box and left them there for a couple weeks. I thought that maybe it was because all my cigars were without cellophane and the different types of cigars together were putting off too much fragrance and it was mixing all together. So I took out most the bare ones and left it in my wooden box and put some with cellophane and bare back into my King chii and maxed the setting to 75% humidity. My hygrometer came up to 69% so I was stoked. I just took a cigar out the other day, lite it up and it was a disaster! It was so rich and I could't even get a good draw of smoke out of it. It was like I was sucking super hot air with no smoke and drinking liquid tobacco juice. The ones in my wooden humidor box taste came back taste really good. Thank God! Maybe you might be onto something with the fan blowing air on them 24/7. I'm going to give it one more try, maybe buy 2 more hygometers to monitor. I would hate to think I wasted my money on this thing ($700) but if I can't figure it out maybe I can leave the cigars in the original box it came in then it won't have a fan blowing on them 24/7. Pretty bummed but haven't given up!

Based on your previous review, I purchased the King Chii 8L. Using the Breveda 69 pack inside for humidity control. Along with the units digital hygrometer, I also mounted another hygrometer on the front of the “basket” for comparison sake. Set unit at 70 degrees and 69% humidity. Seems to hold pretty steady. Fluctuates between 68-70% but usually reads 69. The mounted hygrometer usually reads 1-2 degrees less and 1-2% less. I think this is all acceptable.
Thing is almost silent. I never hear it running.
One question to the experts out there… should I bump down to the Breveda 65% pack? Any advantage? Not an everyday smoker, 1-2/week.
    Thanks!

I have a couple questions that i would love to get an answer to. 1st, with this having its own dedicated humidity source in the bottom, would the cigars towards the bottom be a little more humidified than the ones at the very top? Or does the fan circulate it enough to where its even throughout the entire humidor? Also, ive noticed on pretty much all of your thermidor reviews that you mention the door having to be opened up past 90 degrees for you to be able to slide the shelf out, does that hold true on these? Or would you be able to have it perfectly in the corner, open the door up against the wall and be able to extend the shelves out with no problem?

NeedOne has a lengthy disclaimer stating you need to do your own humidification research. I have done that accidentally.

Like it but the lights are bothering me. Looks like they’re not directly lined up and that would fire my OCD up 😬 For that price I wouldn’t be happy with anything other than perfection

Prestige has a unit with 3 droids. Maxes out at 65". I guess ynitcwill not overhumidify with the reservoir.

The size of these smaller units prohibits a better design. The NeedOne has extra shelves and extra doors for sale for the 150 CT and 300 ct.

I just seen your new king che.. wow that thing is beautiful, so sexy ..
I’m so curious to see your review about that humidification in that unit ?
I have the need one 48L and it could be a little bigger for me but it’s nice.
The lighting dose suck, but other than that it works very well. I have zero humidifiers in it and it stays at 62/63
And the temp I have it set at is 70, but it’s actually 68 and I’m good with that.
    Thanks bob in California
