- Welcome to our latest paranormal investigation as we venture into the heart of North Wales, where an ancient 12th-century church stands proudly atop a remote mountain. In this immersive video, we take you on a journey through time as we explore the rich history and peaceful aura that envelop this historic place of worship.
The 12th-century Welsh Church we investigate in this video is a testament to the enduring beauty of ancient architecture and the stories woven into its very stones. While we were prepared for a night filled with chilling encounters and eerie apparitions, our investigation took an unexpected turn.
As we explored the church, we couldn't help but be captivated by the aura of tranquility that enveloped us. The silence and the stillness of the church were truly remarkable. It's as if the history within its walls had settled into a peaceful slumber, allowing us to reflect on centuries of faith and devotion.
While we didn't capture any paranormal activity during this investigation, we were deeply moved by the sense of calm that surrounded us. It's a reminder that not all haunted places are filled with malevolent spirits and unsettling energy. Sometimes, the spirits of the past simply want to be at peace.
Join us as we explore the nooks and crannies of this timeless church, showcasing its intricate architecture, stained glass windows, and the breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. We'll also share some fascinating historical tidbits about the church, highlighting the importance of preserving such precious relics of the past.
This investigation serves as a reminder that the paranormal world is full of surprises, and sometimes, the most profound experiences come in the form of stillness and serenity. We hope you enjoy this peaceful journey through the heart of North Wales and take a moment to appreciate the beauty of history, even in the absence of paranormal activity.

Lovely vid. The forklift comment made me laugh x
The nave is the central part of the church
The 6th century would have been the 500s for some reason it’s always the one behind like we’re in the 21st now
Braille is for the blind
👍👍👍👍🙂❤

@@DeadCityParanormal great I can’t wait, Sunday is my favourite day now because of you and Adam. So thank you very much from the bottom of my heart 💕
Don't be disheartened Matt if your not getting any responses on your equipment, it could be a very Peaceful church with no activity x
It was definitely peaceful ❤
Braille is a series of raised dots that blind people use to 'read' with. Brail also means a series of small ropes, or pullies! Quail is a bird! Inscribed means etched, engraved or scratched. We're in 2023 which is the 21st century. The writing on the wall definitely looks Latin to me. That church looks really peaceful to me.
What a beautiful old church. Thanks Matt great show
Really is a beautiful place, glad you enjoyed it 😊
Thanks for a great investigation Matt! What a lovely church - such a pity it has been left to decay 😢
I love that there wasn’t any paranormal reaction in such a holy, beautiful place!❤️🙏🏻
I thought that too, it was so peaceful inside the church ❤
Thank you Matt and to your fellow friend and explorer! This was a beautiful place to see. Definitely a "go back again" location. ❤

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊 thanks for watching!
Beautiful church. Love the architecture and wish we could have seen it before it became abandoned. Think this church is welcoming and not scary. There doesn’t seem to be any evil something there. Thank you again for another wonderful explore❤. I just want to say that those of you who have anything to say about these folks that explore just keep it to yourself thank you
Appreciate the comment ❤
The font would be where babies were baptised with Holy water.
Ah yes! 😅 appreciate the comment! I'll know for next time lol
Great video Matt! It certainly is a beautiful old church! ❤

What a beautiful old church. The history of it, all those years ago. Thank you for a great explore. ♥️🇨🇦
It's hard to imagine how life was back then isn't it! I love finding these old places ❤ so much history to be shared 😊
@@DeadCityParanormal I so love the history of these old places and greatly appreciate when people like yourself take the time to explore them and share your experience ♥️
Matt castles, castle ruins and cemeteries are interesting for investigation and old churches😊👍
Great video🙋
Plenty of old castles and castle ruins here in Wales, definitely something to consider for the future 😊 thanks for the comment! ❤
Hi Matt🙋, that's great i think there are many old spirits waiting to be contacted in exciting areas😊@@DeadCityParanormal
Old battlefields from the Middle Ages are extremely interesting 😊@@DeadCityParanormal
I'm going to enjoy watching Matt's Sunday video exploring an old haunted church I'll be waiting cheers Matt
The writing is probably Welsh it would not be old English, the well 6th century BC would be about 2618 years ago and would put you at the beginning of the Middle Ages 😊
If it was welsh, I would have understood it 🤣 it's my first language
Great first investigation inside a church. That one was amazing, I love old churches derelict or not, so much history, and well worth investigating, asso much emotion connected to them from funerals, christenings, and marriages. Aswell as a meeting place back when that one was built, they were used for village meetings, . Could be worth going back to that one once the flys have gone, and investigate near the well.stay safe see you next time.🎃👻🖤🎃👻🖤
Thats what I was thinking, I suppose back then they would be used as hubs for meeting up, seeing friends and so on ❤ so much history in these old churches! Glad you enjoyed the video, plenty more to come 😊
Great Video & Location! Matt you are doing Good.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the kind comment! Plenty more to come in the future ❤️ glad you enjoyed!
Amazing explore :) thank you Matt!
Glad you enjoyed it, you're welcome 😊
I’d like to see more church investigations in the future and very much enjoyed this one. It would be interesting to try calling out or asking some questions in welsh to see if you get responses. Take care and stay safe ❤
I'll definitely try and call out in welsh next time, plenty more church investigations to come 😊 glad you enjoyed the video!
Thank You Matt, for another awesome adventure! 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you 😊
When the 'necro' answered 'me' to the question you asked "who wrote this?" I wouldn't trust that as an answer...old as that place is, surely if they had written it their answer would be more like "I" . Don't believe the word "me" was ever used 🤔
Matt great job this Church is absolutely beautiful !! Thank you for sharing 🇺🇸
You're welcome 😊 so glad you enjoyed the video ❤
Great video and explore Matt. Beautiful church, would love to see more ❤.
Glad you enjoyed it 😊 more to come ❤
My daughter and i enjoy watching your explores expecially with your gentle calm toned voice.. always nice and peaceful and ultimately respectful to what you are doing and where you visit
A 600 year old church with a lot of secrets. Enjoyed it Matt and Josh. Until next week.
This is a beautiful explore.. thank you for sharing it with us
Glad you enjoyed it! You're welcome 😊 plenty more to come
I really enjoyed this. Also love churches even though I'm not religious 😊. Did you find it spooky or peaceful when you were there? It's crazy how old it is
I'm exactly the same! I'm not religious, but I absolutely love looking around old churches more so for the history and the architecture ❤ it was a little spooky but I think it was more the location and with it being night time, but the church definitely felt peaceful 😊
Love this church, I’m rather jealous of the history and beauty of your country’s landmarks. The writing around the window is just beautiful! Brilliant choice for an explore!
No need to be jealous 😅 I'll try my best to bring you the history in my videos ❤ I'm definitely going to be doing more of these beautiful old churches for everyone to see 😊
Definitely love these old churches, amazing atmosphere 👍
Me too! Plenty more to come in the future 😊
Beautiful church,loved the video

Hey Louise!!! See you later!!! 🤗❤️
@@RachelMunaco1111 hey lovely lady looking forward to seeing you and the gang later 🤗💕
Wow Matt what a lovely old church , would definitely like to see some other ones
brail is dots that the blind READ WITH THIR FINGERS maybe its grail they are saying The word grail has multiple meanings. One of the most popular meanings is that it refers to the cup or platter used by Jesus at the Last Supper, and in which Joseph of Arimathea received Christ’s blood at the Cross. It is also a thing that is eagerly pursued or sought after, a thing that is being earnestly pursued or sought after. Some synonyms for grail are ambition, aspiration, hope, goal, and design1.
The word grail comes from Old French graal, from medieval Latin gradalis meaning 'dish
I never though of Grail! That's a really good suggestion, wish I would of clocked onto that whilst I was there 🤦♂️ thanks for the comment!
Another great video Matt..love a spooky Church 😘
Glad you enjoyed it 😊 more to come ❤
There looks like a font to the right of you, it's where they had the Holy water.
This is also the first video I have watched from you. I guess perhaps you have struck out on your own. I am an American who have Dutch Irish ancient, or perhaps Scott Irish decents. I am always very interested in your world and the architecture. I would love to see more such as this beautiful church. I think I noticed what appeared to be a skull and cross bones on the wall behind your head. If i was wrong could you please let me know. I have become a subscriber here tonight but however I am not superstitious. I don't understand why all paranormal investigators always seem to say "we mean you no harm. " If they are truly dead and are spirits, what can be done to them to hurt them? If they are truly spirits, or ghosts, or maybe even demons. Seems to me you all should be worried about what they can do to you. Anyway I enjoyed this and look forward to your next one.
We say "we don't mean you any harm" try to and get them to communicate with us, incase they see us as threats.. just being polite more than anything with whoever I'm trying to contact 😊 and that is correct! It is a skull and cross bones, they discovered the writing during restoration works in the 80s I believe, I think the writing is Latin or maybe old English.
Thanks for subscribing! I appreciate it
Braille is raised dots in patterns people read with their fingers. The beams have wooden dowels in them…lol they aren’t twigs. Nice church though. Nice and old. Thanks.
Oh are they? Haha 😂 I'm silly at times, I'll learn though lol! Be a professional in no time 😂 glad you enjoyed! ❤
The knave is the part of the church where the laity (joe public... non clergy shenanigans) stand or sit.
No notification tonight Matt. Just so you know.
Not sure why the notifications are playing up! Hopefully be fixed by next week! Appreciate the comment 😊 I'll know for next time 😊
Hello Dead City Paranormal. You are asking what Braille means. Braille is for people who are blind, so that they can read. They use their fingers to read on a thick paper that has a series of bumps.
Appreciate the comment! 😊 thank you!
What a great find, Matt. The wall writing was so intriguing to me. Well done!
Glad you enjoyed it! I loved the writing ❤️ so amazing to see isn't it! Wonder what else is hidden in the walls? 😊
@@DeadCityParanormal Never even thought about inside the walls! IT will probably never be known if they hide secrets or not.
It is a special way of writing for the blind.
My notication is set, looking forward to this one.😊Matt
Beautiful church and so old a very interesting explore guy's. Favourite subject at school was history so this was a perfect end to my Sunday viewing.⛪ xx Braille is raised up writing for the blind to touch to be able to read. 👻🕷🦇
Really is a beautiful church! So much history there ❤ I'm glad you enjoyed the video, plenty more to come in the future 😊
@@DeadCityParanormal Good Matt i will look forward to seeing them .Take care xx 💙
Thanks A Great Video Many More Please You Do Show a Lot Of Respect From Blue
More to come! I will always show respect to these beautiful places ❤
Might not be at the Live Matt and regulars, as I start shadowing for my new job Sunday, carry on and I'll be watching the replay if nothing else!
And if you come back try a bit of Welsh 🏴
Definitely! I'll try speaking welsh next time 😊
It looks like a sunken vault it is a grave.
I think churches would be great to do investigations in. Seeing the inside of these really old buildings is interesting.
Definitely! So much history, I love seeing the architecture ❤
W❤w Matt have you ever thought of becoming a writer, this location sure sounds peaceful, im really looking forward to seeing this video 😊 see u soon on
Matt ... We think it's saying grail ... As in the holy grail?
I never thought of that! But could well have been, if that's what was said then I suppose it's a very relevant answer isn't it 🤯 appreciate the comment!
16:08 is a small knock.
Thank you for this amazing video. That place is so gorgeous 😍
6th Century would include the years 500 through 599. Just fyi.
You mentioned also the 12th century, which would include the years 1100 through 1199.
38:22 "Spirit" spoken by a male voice.
Braille (Louis Braille) invented dots for blind people to be able to read with their finger tips.
🕸🕯🙇♀️⏳”..Waiting Matt, Stay safe!” 🕷
One bench (at the front of the north chapel) still bears the initials R.O.B., this being the Reverend Owen Bulkeley, a former rector, who died in 1737. A church inventory of 1742 records a particular bench which was used by women only.
Beautiful old church ...simple yet historical. Thank You both for showing us. Cheers from Kentucky USA 🇺🇸
Great work Matt. Churches are fascinating buildings, but it's unlikely that religious spirits would come forward as the paranormal isn't acknowledged by so many religions. Keep trying though, you never know.
What an AMAZING find. Church is beautiful. Considering the age, well cared for still. Love your vids.
Is it tomorrow yet? I am laughing but I am also serious haha
The 6th century would of been the five hundreds. The 6th century started 501 AD. That’s amazing. Thanks Matt I love seeing old churches and the grounds x
New subscriber here! You and Josh are a good team. Appreciate the calm and respectful style of exploring you guys have. Love the old churches and graveyards…I love the history and that you take the time to show us the little things about the buildings including plaques and writings on the walls. Looking forward to watching your channel grow.😊
Hi Matt
I’m just watching this now in Australia 🇦🇺. Wow what an amazing place, thank you for sharing with us 😊
Awesome footage guys! Very brave! It would be nice to hear interesting conversations. Maybe you guys can write a list of questions about history who they were maybe think about their eras ask what year they were born and learn about their history almost like interviewing a famous person. Like What questions would you ask if you got to interview your role model still living or passed on. Or some kind of dialogue so it’s not so repetitive. They move on to the next subject faster. Looking forward to more breakthroughs! Awesome work guys! Very intriguing!
The well is a perfectly normal shape for a spring fed wel. The church was probably built there because of the spring. Wales is famous for its holy wells. The inscription Iin the church will either be in Latin or Welsh. It's hard to make out the letters, but the dd in one word suggests Welsh. Using an idiot-scaring device ruins your credibility. It's not a spirit. You are just generating random words.
Matt, I lived in East Sussex for a several years in a very old cottage right next to a church and graveyard. I saw something holding onto my bottom bannister. He was dressed in a long night dress, holding a candle, I did nt see his face. My cat was nervous often looking on the stairs. It was close to Burling Gap, East Dean. I still start to shake when I recall it❤❤
the chancel is the space around the altar, including the choir and the sanctuary (sometimes called the presbytery)
