I live in a basement with no windows, so I have a mobile air conditioner unit. It has a PVC pipe on the back leading into a big 20 litre bucket to catch the condensation when it's running. One day for hours I kept hearing the oddest tink-tink-tink-tink-tink noise, non-stop. I checked my computer fans, the water pipes, the hot water tank, and couldn't for the life of me figure out what the noise was. Eventually I found a mouse trapped in the bottom of the bucket with about a thousand turds. It had been leaping fruitlessly for the top hour after hour, without stop. It had squirmed inside the air conditioner, gotten into the pipe, and then slid all the way down into the bucket. An accidental mousetrap.
The only ingredient that could make sauerkraut worse: mouse turds.

This is hilarious! When I was like 10 my family went camping in a motorhome that was infested with mice and I designed a mouse trap incredibly similar to this! Big 5 gallon bucket of water, ramps, even used peanut butter for the bait! I just tied a string around the edge and used a loosely laid layer of saran wrap with a small bit of peanut butter in the center, and in a couple days all the mice were dead. The peanut butter drew them to the center of the plastic, the weight dragged it down and they drowned. I had no idea the design had already been made haha I just stumbled across it myself XD

I used to own a 20 ft Burmese python 4 ft Nile monitor 12 foot African rock python 10 ft Reticulated python 4 ft caiman and a giant bird eating tarantula. I lived in the hood and I had the only house that didnt have a mouse or rat problem. I spread reptile poop in the yard around the house and pretty sure the spare room where I kept the reptiles smelled like cavern of death to any rats or mice that thought about coming in.

Mohammad Hossam it’s a joke. Shawn made a recent video where he caught 7 mice with a shallow bowl and a little bit of peanut oil. Kinda makes a lot of the more complicated traps seem unnecessary.

Mice are unable to poop. (Or vomit). That is why baking soda ruptures their stomach after expanding.

Inspired by this simple design I built a similar one. I didn't have a large enough bucket on hand so I used the bucket part of my paper shredder. Being rectangular and very narrow I instead used 2 overlapping pieces of paper and cut 2 horizontal lines about 2 inches wide on each where they overlap. The cuts on the top piece were 2 inches and the bottom piece twice that. Place my bait on the top piece right at the overlap point and to my surprise this actually worked really well. Thanks for showing us this design Shawn! Anyone could do this easily using whatever they have on hand.

I was just thinking about designing something exactly like this the other day, except I thought it would be cool if you like put something wet on the paper so it makes it break through as they eat the bait.

Suggestion for improvement: -
A smaller '+' cut in the center of the paper disc may provide a more stable surface for the mouse 🐁 to feel more secure on, and then the mouse 🐁 may be more likely to venture toward the center from where it will fall down.
It would be appreciated if you experiment, let's say with a cut of the '+' that is half the radius of the paper disc.

It's not that youtube is broken. RUclips have a system where they validate views and likes. They have never released the specifics of how it works, but the intent is to prevent people using bots to artificially inflate thier views or like counts. while a video is new the views and likes are still lagging behind due to this system, as a video gets older and the view rate slows they become more accurate.

Wow, I really like this trap! But I do have to say, my favourite is still the oil bowl trap. That’s my fav one. This is my second favourite, since my garage has so many baby mice and rats and I don’t even know what else is in there, but, good vid!
