This is a very well done tutorial but this is NOT EASY. This is incredibly complex and multi-step and I can't believe an app as good as Capcut hasn't come up with a less complicated way to do this yet!!
I really hope soon CapCut will add the ability to use tracking with masks -- This would greatly reduce the tedium of having to make the mask move by adding a keyframe every few frames.
This was awesome! I had wasted so much time watching other videos on the same topic before this. Others generally miss out the part where you select the object of the blur effect, so I just couldn't get it right. Thank you!
This is the best tutorial. The most informative and easy to follow. You've just got a like. Seriously, I've seen a lot of tutorials before, but yours is literally the best.
I just did this using my phone. The best tutorials on Caput, I am going to look to see if you have other videos on Caput. Thank you! Your video and explain was VERY clear and easy to follow. Please please please do more Circuit videos . Make it a series . I am the watch a do type of person and would love to follow on with your video
Back in 2000, when people used camcorders to record video, there was a built-in feature called mosaic that automatically blurred everybody’s faces in the video. Crazy how this isn’t easy as that
After seeing bunch of videos today trying to get an answer on how to edit my clip in CapCut, I finally got my answer by seeing your video! Thank you so much for this concise and to the point video🙏
You’re so helpful 10/10 also updating us for 2023 if you don’t see the effects immediately 1. click off the Clips this should merge the clips 2. Click the timeline which is the top left corner of the start of the clip 3. then you should see the effects in lens area the “blur” effect has been renamed to “hazy”
Instead of applying the blur on the overlay layer, keep it on the original video so the overlay will be your sharp version. Then apply mask on the overlay but invert it with the button on the left bottom corner, that way you get rid of that black circle completely and have a clean blur 😊
Hi thanks for rhe very helpful tutorial. I have an issue where I keep clicking off the mask function when I am half way through editing a video. Is there a way to get back on to the mask to continue to move it again. I xant seem to work it out, and I'm going this often with my clumsy adhd fingers 😅 thanks in advance 😊
how do i do it without doing it by each clip, like one by one, cause i have lots if clips to do, how do you make the whole timeline into 1 video (without exporting it first) ? please
Amazing vid! So helpful and easy to understand!!! Thanks! Does anyone have a different free app/program that does blurring better/easier or is this the best option?
I was doing everything exactly as shown here (very informative, thank you) but when I play the video the blurred mask is not covering the face. I do frame per frame covering it, and when I play the video, the circle mask is moved. Why is this happening?
steps : Duplicate layer1 select layer2 and do Overlay and do reposition select Layer2 and add Mask then Revert go and select layer1 add Blur effect Make sure don’t expand the Mask make it small and put it at the end
Thank you for the video. Is there a way where you can blur 2 objects on the video on Capcut (for pc)? Would you be able to make a video on that for pc (if possible)? Thank you.
Best way to blur two objects is to blur one object then export the clip. Re-import it, and apply a second blur. Otherwise you can try a PC application I share in this video for blurring multiple moving objects in a couple clicks. ruclips.net/video/DOe8ZTGNMVQ/видео.html
Good explanation. I don't edit videos on the phone, so I will try to adapt your instructions for my Windows version of Capcut. Do you have a separate video for the desktop version? Thanks again.
Is there a way to blur two separate objects using this method? I tried doing another mask but when I get to the effects part it says there isn't enough room to copy and paste it.
Yes. Apply a blur then export. Apply another blur, export. Repeat. Or you can try this software that blurs multiple faces in a click. ruclips.net/video/DOe8ZTGNMVQ/видео.html
Every tutorial needs to be like this. "Straight to the point, simple and clear. Thanks man."
For anyone wondering, the blur is now in lenses
Thanks
That's true
Where is lenses tho.
With the clip in your timeline unselected, tap Effects then Video Effects, Lens is the third tab.
Thanks

Same, inshot has a tracking feature way easier

More on the way!
Can you make one for the PC version? It seems to be completely different from the phone version

Sir I just wanna salute you, outstanding trick appreciated ❤️❤️
Excellent Video! Did the "Copy" function get changed to "Duplicate"? The symbol is the same with the overlapping pages, but I am not seeing copy.
Just found out that you can automaticaly resize the blur with this keyframe trick! Thankyou for guide, bro
Best explanation yet THANK YOU
Awesomeness
Imagine doing this on a 40-minute video LOL
Oh lawd. That would be so tedious
@@VideoZeus yeah
Yeah dude, also, it’s a lecture😭
Talkin about stuff we don’t care about if it’s 40 mins long
@@VideoZeus yea
I have to do it on a 51 minute video. Help
How do I position the overlay layer with the original video I can’t seem to get it
Instead of applying the blur on the overlay layer, keep it on the original video so the overlay will be your sharp version. Then apply mask on the overlay but invert it with the button on the left bottom corner, that way you get rid of that black circle completely and have a clean blur 😊
The greatest vid I’ve ever seen danke
Fantastic tutorial- worked like a charm
This is the most informative video ! Thanks I’ve been looking for how to do it and thank you for letting us now it’s now in lens
Yes,the best video ever.i was trying to learn this specific bur effect in so many videos, but this is so easy and clear video.thanks a lot.
Much appreciated - glad to assist!
Great tutorial, crazy that Capcut never concluded that there needs to be an automatic AI tracking for such a common need ...
Thank you I can’t believe I call my self a pro editor, I was like wait how do I know know how to do this, I know has to do with overly.
Thank you. You are the best RUclipsr to explain this. It really worked
So helpful and straightforward thanks🙏
Nice video, I have a question, though: what if I had to blur multiple areas i.e faces? Thank you!
Yes please!! I'd assume you can do everything described in this video a second time to create 2 masks... 🤷🏻♂️ I'll test it and report back
very helpful. Thanks
This is NOT smartphone-friendly. This is a 2010 PC complexity level.
Awesome!!! Quick and to the point, this helps a lot, THANK YOU!!!
Thxxx bro❤

Thank you very much 🫶🫶
Thank you! Earned my sub

The mask option is revealed when the clip is selected. Then scroll over to Mask and tap Remove.
This is probably the most useful tutorial I've found on how to blur on capcut. Thanks for posting this!
Thanks so much for the video! Perfect tutorial ✨✨

Wow you are pretty good teaching this, thank you. I am going to try it.❤❤❤❤
How do you do the positioning in 1.18? I can't seem to figure it out.
This is so helpful! Your getting a sub ❤
Happy to assist!
How are you synching the overlay with the original? My overlay won’t slide over.
Tap and hold, then drag
Tysm this really helped ^-^
Thank you ❤
I watched like half way through, then used it for my pfp
You are the real MVP

I need to do this on a PC. It's quite different and I couldn't keep up with adjustments
Great video. This is good if you're a youtuber since yt doesn't like certain things in videos.

do you know where they moved the mosaic effect to?
No idea bro. I can’t find it either 🫤
Is there a way to blur two separate objects using this method? I tried doing another mask but when I get to the effects part it says there isn't enough room to copy and paste it.
Hello, i should have a pro version? the Basic section does not appear in my application..
They moved it again! Now under effects there is a search bar, type in Blur and you’ll see it.
Is there a way to blur multiple people at once
Yes. Apply a blur then export. Apply another blur, export. Repeat. Or you can try this software that blurs multiple faces in a click. ruclips.net/video/DOe8ZTGNMVQ/видео.html

Excellent work
Can you position it to only hide part of a face?
