Castlevania franchise is dead Konami think it’s outdated and only suited for mobile games if you want a spiritual successor try Bloodstained series

Castlevania honestly has gotten some stiff competition over the past decade or so. It'll always be a special franchise to me tho. Sad to see it be this way

Track Listing: Dracula's Castle, Vampire Killer, Bloody Tears, Blood Relations. The beginning sounds like it could be a separate track from Super Castlevania IV. So güd. Even if I don't play it I'm still looking forward to the soundtrack remixes!

I'm normally pretty hesitant about DLC for any game but everything Dead Cells has put out slaps hard!

It’s one of my all time faves. Super Castlevania IV is perfection. SOTN is great and has some real bangers, but there’s something about that SNES sound.

The castle fits Dead Cells’ theme perfectly. Alucard said it himself, “the castle is a creature of chaos. It may take many incarnations”
My all time favorite franchise mixed with my all time favorite rogue-lite. This is gonna take a bit to fully process.
That's how I felt about Cadence of Hyrule. It's a good time to be a game nerd.
Dead Cells is a rougelike, not a rogue-lite. While you CAN make progress between runs, it's almost impossible to do so unless you're a god at the game and the process is so slow that the only real way to progress is just to "get good." Hades is a much better example of a Rouge-Lite since there's actual progression between runs that makes you significantly stronger, the night mirror specificly especially in the early game before you clear your first run. Heck, sometimes the only way to progress IS to die.
@@krimsonkatt I mean, unlocking weapons/mutations isn't very difficult, that's still progress. And as far as actual meta upgrades, there's a ton of those. Not really sure what you're on about with having to be a god at the game to get permanent upgrades.

This was the absolute last thing I was expecting. I heard the Dracula’s Castle theme from Symphony of the Night and thought “no freaking way”, and then Richter and Alucard showed up and I nearly freaked out. Guess I gotta play some Dead Cells.

I’ve never played Dead Cells before, but I’m a huge Castlevania fan. Guess it’s as good of a time as any to finally experience the title.
Oh are you in for a trip. Dead Cells plays like a faster paced version of the Iga era Castlevania games. It is a lot of fun and quite challenging.

Well. I'm getting dead cells on the switch now.
My guess is this DLC will be available on all platforms but I've found Dead Cells to be a perfect fit for the Switch...sunk many hours into it.
@@RoninXDarknight I picked it up on PS4 when it was free on plus. I enjoyed it greatly, now it'll become mobile.
There's already a listing for this DLC on Steam, too, it's not a Nintendo thing.

After Konami resurected a classic in the form of Getsufuma Undying Moon, now having this collaboration. It just makes me think and hope for a new Castlevania around the corner. Even tho Iga left and made his own, they can still do so much. I cant wait for this, hopefully we get the costumes and weapons and classic bosses and monsters.
I agree they dont really need IGA, i know everyone praises him but honestly some of my favorite games in the series where not even done by him
good riddence to iga. basically kill'd CV and metroidvanias by telling konami to make the then lords of shadow into a castlevania game...
and abandoned his cv he was working on at the time.
hopefully someday someone worthy in konami will rise again to bring back CV in its classical style.

@@LoliconSamalik oh thats not the version i read. to me it said iga was working his cv but then saw what was to become lords of shadow n got impressed by that n told konami higher ups to go make that into a CV and then he basically gave up on his game. cuz he felt LOS was superior. lame.

Big fan of both Dead Cells and Castlevania. Loving the mix of all of the classic CV tunes. A little bit of the NES era, a bit of Rondo, and a touch of Symphony.

Check out Castlevania Requiem which is out on the PS4 and comes with Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood and the Castlevania Collection which I believe is available on all current-gen platforms.

They might be worried about a backlash since it's been so long since Konami has made a Castlevania game it could come across as just a cheap way to exploit nostalgia.

I mean this is a huge step up from Castlevania Pachinko still just wish Konami would just rehire Koji Igarashi and have him direct a new castlevania game.
Bloodstained was great and they're already making a sequel for it, I think IGA's doing fine where he is. Konami would just horribly mistreat him, we all know it.
@@TyrantWesker True if he where to work for Konami again then he most likely wouldn't have completed control over the games he would make though it would be cool if they where to let him use the Castlevania IP he has shown intrest in working on another castlevania project after all.
@@TyrantWesker He's also said in interviews that he would go back only to finish out the franchise with Demon Castle War 1999. That's the one that a lot of people have been waiting on.
Actually Konami has been currently putting out so much Castlevania content this year but in other forms and collabs. Brawlhalla, Bail and Jail, the upcoming new Netflix show and now this game.
But yeah, it would be nice to have a new mainline game someday. I suggest try the new Getsu Fuma game coz it's almost close being a Castlevania game though it's more Rougelike.

You should definitely give it a shot, its got references and collabs with a bunch of other games but this seems to be the biggest. they have a bunch of weapon and armor based on things like shovel knight, hollow knight, half life......its pretty sick
