This is all because elway sold our soul to get our super bowl 50. This is the price we have to pay. I don't know how long it goes on for but it's obvious he did something. Giving these past drafts all the players that we could have had that we didn't
The off coverage was an issue leading to a lot of the failures VJ's D in his final yr as HC. It was so bad that even Ray Crockett literally questioned and criticized this on radio plenty. The patterns that we are seeing in the first two weeks are the same things we saw in the past. VJ underwhelmed when he had talent in the NFZ and constantly collapsed.
The same things are happening here in the present with a group that is not as talented. Only with far worse repercussions because VJ can't cover deficiencies like Vic and Ejiro did. The complaints about the D getting owned in the 4th qtr of pre-season games wasn't bc of just 4th stringers playing. It is a pattern of VJs that was prevalent when calling D as HC and are still persisting today. I would hope that VJ can self correct, yet his old habits are dying hard.
Absolute disaster but would just like to point out this team could actually be kinda good if the defense returns to form
That and some consistent cohesion between our O line and Russ.

Vance just doesn’t belong in Denver.
It's now looking like 8 straight years of absolute pain from Denver and on such a special day for our former SB champs. I want to see what Sean Payton does when he's in full control of building his team from the ground up. We'll see how the season shapes up. Thank you for video my friend.

Payton was won NOTHING without Drew Brees. So what makes anyone believe he can build a team from the ground up?
I dont understand enough to make any arguments for this firing or that firing. Russ was great at first and needed Hail Mary. Defense is just terrible. Gettig ejected from games, helmet hits. This isn't the team I've been proud of in defeat before. This team i just expect to shoot itself before the other team even gets a chance. Dolphins will murder us. 0-3

Vance Joseph just doesn't know how to drive the Ferrari he was given...🤭🥳🤣 The team has got to be mentally harder than they are!!!! Additionally, the team is supposed to be pretty much new with personnel, but I see remnants of lack luster effort ---- as if some players are just clocking a check --- like last years team...😮

VJ has the same look on his face that he had in 2017 when DB fired him😮. DB had a good coach in Fangio but had horrible offense play callers, horrible. Now they have a so-called master play caller who I don’t think is as good as Hackett. Russell is the common denominator and he will prove that Payton is as much hype as he is. As Broncos fan since 1960, I’ve moved on. No amount of Sams Club money is gonna fix this. Only “real” football people can fix this. Not myths

Same personnel on defense for the most part. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it VJ. Swallow your pride. Whatever system Evero was running, man etc., simply go back to it. No reason to go from holding teams to 17 points or less to teams scoring 35.
I can't figure it out 🤔, give up two first and second round picks for a washed up quarterback instead of drafting a quarterback two years ago when you had a chance. Thanks to bronco's general management.

What I saw was the Commanders made adjustments and the Broncos didn't adapt.... also #69 was getting smoked all game. Should've sured up the right side of that line with some TE blocking/ chipping
Commanders are not a good team. Should of lost to the Cards at home last week. You have a team down 21-3, the final score should be 42-17 or something along those lines. If a team blows a lead like that, it's simply inexcusable. It's a firing offense. If there is any good news to be distilled here, it's that the vaunted AFC West, a division perpetually overrated, is bad. The division consists of pretenders like the Chargers and Raiders and a Chiefs team that will always find a way to win, but doesn't look as formidable as years past, so it's not hopeless.
Best case scenario for the Broncos going into the bye, which is the earliest I could see Joseph being fired, however doubtful, is a team with at least 5 losses, they could have more but if you can't beat the Bears and Jets, the situation is dire. They might opt to tank. It'll be hard to out-lose the Cards, Raiders and Texans though. And just a point of caution with fans who think Payton will have the Broncos competing with the upper-echelon soon, Paton is probably on the firing line, and should be, for the Wilson trade, the extension and not adding much to this roster.
My fear is he gets fired and ownership gives Payton control and suddenly the team is signing players like Taysom Hill for $30 mil.. The Saints cap management was not good and Payton was the driver behind that stuff. He did it to keep the window open for Brees, so what happens when he has access to almost limitless cash flow for signing bonuses and goes the quick fix route? Saw what happened when Belichick did it, not good.
I saw a much improved team have fundamental individual breakdowns at several positions that cost us the game both weeks. Do you know that feeling when you clean a room and then after doing so you realize how dirty the baseboards are? Kareem Jackson having back to back game altering and momentum changing penalties has me pretty upset, lets move on from this guy. There was a drive in the 3rd quarter where Russ got sacked 2-3 times back to back??? My eyes got real wide and I was just thinking, " oh no what is happening"?? Where was the team I saw first half making run plays and throwing the ball deep to our fantastic rookies?(go rookies) I made a comment last week that has come back to haunt me. " losers find ways to lose winners find ways to win". As a team we have to find our ghost buster, who's it going to be? Thanks for helping me stay positive this week about the situation Cody. I am waiting for the Netflix conspiracy documentary on how the refs call games though I agree with you, it should have never gotten there and that is an obvious defensive play calling problem, we did get pressure, we did have sacks but as you said no turnovers. How can we get our DB's making more plays? I'm in Florida and I am not excited about this upcoming Miami game I am going to watch with my hands covering my face as I peek through my fingers.

The refs were the reason Denver lost. No way they should be deciding some of the calls they make. If you can review a play review a play! Not just parts of the play. Stupidest rules ever. Denver is terrible but this is bad

Our defensive coach sux. Big mistake to let Evero leave after last season. Denvers will have to put Drew Sanders in the LB spot to try to stop the run. Denver looked anemic on defense.
I hate to overreact but let's just trade the whole offense away for whatever we can get.. & trade Justin Simmons to a contender go 2-15 draft Shedeur Sanders and start over

Man what happened to mims? Of course I missed the first quarter and a half and the broncos looked great. I’ve been watching for over 30 years and can’t remember such a letdown with such a huge lead. This team has a problem that’s spanned 4 coaching staffs now. This defense either can’t get a pass rush or commits a terrible penalty. More importantly we lose at home which is the most important thing for me. Our fans still show up only to be let down. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this disappointed this early in the season. In 1 months, VJ took a top 3 defense and made them trash just like 2017. We all know VJ has never coached a top tier defense except 1 time and that was 11th

That's a cop out answer to maintain professionalism when in fact the Broncos were screwed multiple times by the refs which led to the collapse on defense and the momentum swing
I think that’s the biggest illusion that fans have about media. We don’t have to kiss ass or suck up to them - we can be critical and it doesn’t impact our access.
Now there is a difference between being objectively critical versus making characterized attacks. I don’t operate that way and never will.
Let’s see what Payton decides to do.

If we are being OBJECTIVE we all know who needs to go. Sam Howell first road start rips through VJs defense like butter. Playing off allowing easy catches of 6 yards a pop giving them easy 2nd and 3rd downs...
Yeah these same players were making plenty of plays on defense last season no problem with Evero. And 2 of these guys are WAY better this year than last year, Bonito and Cooper.
In no way can you allow Washington with this young QB to put up 35 points. You just can't do that and that's me given them passes for multiple calls that weren't called and few ticky tack ones that were called on the defense that kept drives alive for Wash.

1) Can Wilson be good?
2) Can VJ coach the D?

I agree that the running backs aren't doing anything, and Payton is not sticking to the run. DW looks average at best. You can't put all this on Russ. How about that expensive O line that looks below average, and let's not talk about the defense, put the blame where it belongs 🤔

Guys, do not throw in the towel. Heres how i honestly feel…This broncos offense is good enough to win games, none of this is on russ at all, its obvious payton has him playing much better. Vance Joseph looks confused out there. If it wasnt for pat surtain they would have score 45 points on us. Im still optimistic that we can turn this ship around, we have the peices to do it but vance joseph is going to be under fire. Sean payton feels the same way i do, if somethings causing us to lose, REMOVE IT. I say give joseph one more try if not, the. Make christian parker the defensive coordinator. Sounds drastic right? Well drastic measures have to be taken if you want to go to the playoffs. Rob walton and condoleeza rice are not happy. No ones happy, it feels like we fixed russ now the defense is broken. Big game coming up against the dolphins and guess what… IM NOT THROWING IN THE TOWEL AND NO ONE SHOULD, LETS GET BEHIND THIS TEAM and move on! Its still early guys. Things can be fixed!
Keep your chin up Cody. I’ve been a diehard Bronco fan for almost 50 years. I’m not gonna go down that toxic negative rabbit hole. We are in a rebuild, and cause we have been spent too much draft capital we are thin during our rebuild. We are good in many areas, but not really good in any. That’s makes us mediocre, and mediocre teams lose close games.
Why isn't anyone talking about how shitty Payton has been, he lost the first game with his kicking decision, and how is a 21-3 blown lead not put on the coach?
We can pinpoint a lot of areas of blame. It’s not just singular. He has his share.
