@@OmmegaTang There is a Silencing foam specifically for the id80 on candykeys. Heres the link: candykeys.com/product/id80-silencing-foam . Im not quite sure if it fits in the id80v2 tho
@@valentinstern4684 that's only for the V1 version. The V2 version doesn't really have enough space for any foams because the Integrated plate and acrylic bottom is too thick
Mod it! I need to know if a silicone mod would improve or completely remove the hollow sound. Such a great keyboard but that hollow issue makes it not really handsome for me
Good informative review. I had an ID80 v1 and I couldn't stand the hollowness of that board. V2 seemed to have improved on that greatly, but it still sounds a bit hollow unfortunately :(

Apex pro is good for gaming, it has really smooth switches but it’s stabs are very bad. Gat yellows are faster, cheaper and you can put them in any build and you can make them sound 10x better than the apex pro
I just tried to google how to install screws using a jump cut (3:42)... it took a while to figure out you were talking about editing the video. TIL a jump cut is removing the boring video parts. Sigh. Great video, do a mods one please.
Hey do you remember me? My SK68 just arrived! Have some with the epomaker software, can't change the lighting except on driver1, and if I change some keys on a layer like layer1, the lighing will just go off until I factory reset it in the settings of epomakers software. Gonna mod it a little. Not comfortable with lubing my switches tho. So just some foam on the bottom and definitely some lube for the stabilizers. Will keep you updated! :D And yes, would love a mod video on the Id80 V2!

@@soulsqueezer4022 I saw that in the Discord after I ordered it and basically did everything to make sure I statically discharged myself, grounded my laptop, and kept my desk free from static before I opened it up to mod it. Might have been overkill but I haven't had any issues at all during regular use either and I've opened it up a few times. I have seen people say it shorts out a few weeks in. I've had it for about about a month now and no issues. Definitely not something we should be worried about so if you are worried, there are other options out there! I personally am looking forward to the GMMK Pro I have coming in the next few months hopefully.
@@KennethMao Yeah, I am pretty disappointed to be honest. Not that I like under-glow too much, but still this should not be happening. I would get the GMMK pro, but I don't like the silver color. They call it "white ice", but it just looks silver to me.

this board looks a lot nicer and you get way more out of it than a drop CTRL the only weird than about that layouts on their boards is that blank space. but if these were a thing a few years back when i grabbed a drop CTRL when i first entered the hobby i would have rather gone with this board especially with screw in stab support sheeeez no brainer. if you kiddo's are contemplating this or a drop ctrl id grab this any day for your first little budget build. gat yellows are the food stamps of the switch industry change my mind

Honestly, I've never experienced the soft flex of a gasket mount so maybe I don't know what I'm missing, but I really don't mind the integrated plate of my ID80 and quite like the sound signature too. If the V2 were $150 instead of $200 it'd be a far easier recommendation
You really don't miss anything out. I've got the gasket mountet keychron q3 and i literally feel no difference compared to a non gasket mounted keyboard
I have a question regarding this keyboard. I followed the exact same procedure as you but I notice that the layout on via isn't displayed as ISO. I know I can still remap certain keys by looking for the corresponding ones shown in via but I can't seem to map the button next to left shift. How have you solved this problem?
BTW, the milky yellows have a nice poppy clack to them in the V2 upgrade, which in my opinion is how the word thock was born. Poppy + clack = thock and then becomes 🎵🎶 to my 👂🎶🎷 🤜💥🤛
You should review the k65 mini. Just because i would love to hear how you would swap switches and what switches you would put on. Because i got mine with cherry mx reds and im finding some switches really scratchy. :)

It does not come with the PCB foam, and does not really need it. It still needs case foam of some kind.

I personally haven't had any issues, just make sure your computer is properly grounded
