It not the 80/20 regulation which people falsely quote as being the contributing factor to Nigeria music success but the mindset of the average nigerian to business. They come to realise that music is business, and it's worth investing on. We cherish our culture so much and most of our actions portrays that. See it in all our entertainment, we Nigerians are original in our speaking, both good and bad English unapologetic. If we want something, we go for it . Ghanaians are too comfortable and reserved, they don't have this cultural aggressive mindset. The world as of now pays those risk takers, I don't think Ghanaians are yet ready to invest in music.

Give us the hits and the venues will fill up.
One or two hits will not fill up arenas.
I mean Global Hits. Being a hit only just in Ghana will not fill up O2 arena.
There’s this general feeling of entitlement by the Ghana industry that just because it’s Ghana, Ghanaians should come out and support it 😳
Nigerian artists keep dropping back to back hits, that’s why Nigerians, Ghanaians and other nationals go out to support them.
Burna Boy can give a two hour show with over an hour and half of solid back to back hits.
I can assure you that those eighty thousand people at his London concert would not have paid nearly £100 each if they were going to hear only one or two hit songs

I'd advise our people to quit criticizing Ghanaians for the comparisons between theirs and ours music industry. If they don't do that, how can they learn and grow? Is it a crime to compare? It is not in your place to tell someone who has taken you as a role model not to mention you and compare, that's dumb. The only time we'd have issues with our Ghanaian brothers is when they sat everything originated from Ghana. Same way We Africans claim that civilization began here, then what? Is it a bragging right to claim someone started a race first but is last?

    • @abzig9430

Africans and Ghanaians are really really misconstruing this whole thing about Nigeria, playing 80 percentage of their music against 20 percentage of other countries, no, its not true. Nigerians worked towards it and that's why even in America and Europe, it's all about Nigerian music; or should we say, it's a phase or what? Nigeria till today still play foreign music and we like it. I'm an old school lover of music, from hip hop, RnB, blue, jazz music, but, as it is now, I'm sorry to say, it seems this hip hop, RnB and what have you, have lost that rhyme of sweet melody's that I used to play and sing along in those old school days. I love hip-hop and can mime along with the music. But, hip hop is fainting away. I love, Snoop, 2pac, biggie, LL cool j, naughty by nature, queen latifa, mc lyte, money love, dmx, Kool moor Dee, big daddy Kane, Dr Dre, Eminem, 50cent, Nas, Will Smith, Mary j Blige, I can go on n on but, that's me and that's the truth. At the moment, let's just keep enjoying afrobeats or afrobeat and give respect to it's originator and founder, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, aka Abami Eda. Peace y'all.😅😅😅😅😅

Objection please, stop this narrative of 80% stuff. There is no time in my life that hear such police. Am a nigerian and above fifty years old. Do you know we have more than thirty radio stations in Lagos State alone. Lagos State is smallest state in Nigeria ( little above three thousand square meters). We have thirty six state and federal capital territory . There are radio stations in Logos States that play foreign music twenty - four seven. While there are radio stations that speak queens English. But also we have radio stations that are basically based on our local language. We operated freedom of expression to the fullest. Every state operates with state constitution and federal constitution. Northern Nigeria have Arabian culture, while southern Nigeria deviated from British culture to America culture. Have you ever heard that concert stage northern part of Nigeria ( except Abuja that is federal territory). Entertainment in Nigeria rest on individual investments. Nigeria is a country we citizens are trained not to expecting any from our government but what we want to give our beloved country. A case sturdy, Kai Cenat , he was invited to Nigeria by his friend ( Davido). Do you known no single representative from government. All police escorts you see sometimes with people of interest in Nigeria you pay heavily for it by individual that initate it. It is only when federal government invites guest you we see our government.
