and for a long time ppl could understand that this man was actually one of the most prolific and revolutionary pioneers of modern music in all the land....
This mix, made by VLR in 2005, became really popular in part because of the great Analord tracks selection and also because of the fluid transitions between them. This video repeats the Side B two times, instead of both Side A and Side B. You can find it on my channel, since he deleted it from his soundcloud: soundcloud.com/vlr/tracks. I would also recommend his "Strictly Aphex" and "Come On You Cunts Let's Have Some Aphex Classics" mixes as well, both are 2 hours+ AFX-only journeys.
also missing Xmd5a, but it's a very good mix overall. I especially like the transition from Where's your Girlfriend into the slowed down Cilonen edit. Mmmm tasty stuff..
A lot of the Analords were slow to grow on me. Recently revisited them and came to the inevitable conclusion that the whole series is a work of insane genius :| Great mix.
I had exactly that experience! I appreciate these so much now. The arrangement, how beautifully crafted and unique the synth sounds are, the variety and complexity of seemingly cacophonous sounds and patterns that somehow work together. And the variety of styles, none of which sound like they’re based on existing genres. Analord 06 is my fave right now for how strange “Synth Voices” and “Anallogins” are
@@sekutard5157 I've got 4 hours worth and there's probably some I'm missing - there's 11 released EPs I think plus a few alternate versions and whatnot. Some of the tracks in the AFX soundcloud dump are Analord outtakes. Get digging!
Where did Aphex Twin get his name? Aphex Twin is not his real name. His real name is Richard David James. His name is a combination of Aphex Systems Limited, a brand of audio signal processing equipment and the word Twin to remember his brother. His brother was stillborn, but given the name Richard James.
I'm a zygote and Afx makes me want to twiddle things. He's the only modern electronic musician that integrates microtones so well you barely know they're there. In my opinion, in my tiny unimportant opinion.
i love the old analog synthesizer days , had a sweet system of engaged moogs myself , the sound you could get was big and immense and awesome , but it had limitations ,/1.) the sequencers in the early pioneering days were essentially arpeggiators , they were not true sequencers as we know them today., so the control was limited , 2.)there was no set standard or protocol to link synthesizer modules together , usually they relied on voltage control and frequency modulations , ,
would think an artist would have worn him self thin after creating hundreds of songs over the years. But rdj still has as much creativity and magic in each and every song now as he ever did. Each track takes you to a place and tells a story that conveys a msg. This experience differs from one listener to the next. I still find his work to be awe inspiring stuff and I have nobody to compare him to cause he is in a league of his own. A true one of a kind legand that has note for note and beat for beat put ever sound in the perfect spot with the exact right amount or space between. That coupled with his production skills. Wow...just..wow.
ya know when your working and think about to go home for listening that damn good mix tape alone and flashing around..this feeling!!! finally back home!!
Wow, this is a great rundown of analord. The transitions are so well done. I wish some of the tracks wern't trimmed down so much, but I'm sure the reasons are all justified, specially considering I'm listening for free.
This is my favorite of his massive body of works that I am aware of. Chosen lords is truly a best of to me, but he has so many other good sounds on offer it's hard to say anything superlative with confidence.
I've had the original 12"'s - Listened to the CD compilation and downloaded the extra's from the defunct rephlex site.. and still - years fucking later... this mix is the best realization of the analord series. Hat's off to the long-forgotten mixer of this. You fucking NAILED it. BANGIN.
If i am stuck working for loads of hours stuck at this stupid desk with no sleep this is my go to.. i am done with work now and i cant seem to get myself to shut it off.. ahhh
1. Why do so many “Best Of” Richard D. James lists ignore Analord? It’s his greatest work IMO. 2. When will the Analord Series ever end up on Spotify or Apple Music?WTF is going on !!!!!!?

That's why he's the best. Endless supply of music, always finding something new. And If you can't find anything new, just play it at a different RPM.

The best tracks from the Analord series are in this. Works really well as a summary of all 11 EPs. My house is burning because this mixtape is FIRE

A good introduction to Richard's art
If u new, u got a lot coming bro..

First song I believe he rips New Order's "Blue Monday" to shreds.

CV - Control voltage. Its easy to convert MIDI to CV.... loads of fun there... and easy to build an analogue sequencer. :)
Lisbon Acid is one of my favs
My lifetime favourite track ever
13:48 : pure bliss
What is it?
the song that kicks in. I like the fact that it is a bit faster than usual.
Gaston Noblia
Any idea about the name of the song?

Its VBS.Redlof.B. I had to listen to the whole album and match it, its fucking lush
Paul Murray right, thx, awesome track!
13 deaf people !?? This is some of the best I've heard from aphex!! Awesome analogue madness!!
