Heeeyy have a lot easy way to paint in one spot,go to that blue layer,and paint the background,them you gonna click in that button with black and white points and squares,then the area that you not painted is gonna be selected (sorry if you don't understand English is not my mother language) Hope it's help!!😊😊

Lol good question a dark base makes you pick the right shadow highlights. You don't choose too white for the light/highlighter
