I miss my bobbin lace stuff. I can't find a pillow for a reasonable price. Eventually I will replace all my craft stuff. I still have some basic bobbins atleast. I am so happy to see you doing bobbin lace. It kind of is a lost art. RUclips has really helped crafters like you make certain crafts teachable to new audiences. Thank you💖
I love your tutorials as they are so easy to understand. Thank you for the book recommendation. How do I add more thread when my worker bobbin runs out of thread?
When you are getting close to running out, unwind the nearly empty bobbin, reload with the new thread. Tie and loop in the new thread, use a pin to secure in place. Wind the end of the old thread up along with the new thread. You can the. Work with both threads for a few rows of stitches. You can then Unwind the old thread from the bobbin and leave it hanging from the work. Carry on using the new thread. Once you have finished you can ship the thread ends x
Again, I can't wait to try this out with all my new stuff here! I Cannot find the link to the book you mentioned. In Denmark we have VERY little books on this topic, and those which we have is very complicated. I need a good beginners book
You may find a copy of this book on ebay. I am sure that there are others that as just as good though. I would start with a beginners book or one that says torchon x
Thank you for the video. I have some confusion tho. Are there specific rules for placement of pins and whether to use a half stitch or whole stitch? Thank you for your time.😀
You can choose to do whichever you like if it is a free style piece. Generally it will tell you when to do each stitch type in the pattern instructions x
I felt defeated by attempting the half stitch. It would be helpful to have a troubleshooting video if posssible to understand how to know where to continue if interrupted and how to know the precise step to correct an error. What are the usual errors beginners experience in image form and what does this mean. A detailed diagram of each step of a half stitch would help to understand where a beginner is going wrong. It appesrs easy at the first few steps but becomes frustrating further down the line for a beginner as there is no reference of how the threads should appear corrrectly. Thsnk you.
This is just a video to get you started. I would advise you to join a bobbin lace group or teacher so you can get hands on paid tuition to iron out any difficulties
Your videos are so clear and helpful! I’ve been struggling to work this out from books but a video is so much easier. Thank you for sharing this ❤️

I will have to re-watch them as I am crocheting right now, a test crochet.
