Would you recommend starting out doing some of the feathers to get the hang of diamond painting first..I have tried a picture but its big and i kind of got overwhelmed because the diamonds are really small and the spaces are close together..any advice?

Yes definitely something like feathers and keychains or special drills and stickers are perfect for beginner diamond painter
Doing bigger canvus can be a bit tricky I struggle doing them now I only do a 30x40 particals peices it's also easier if u have a light pad as well
