@@popcycles air duster. Brush with IPA. Watch a few other videos that show restoration of vintage equipment and do what they do. The vintage restoration channels do this all the time but they won't risk damaging hard to come by components
Nice. I won't recommend using a wrench to remove the bolts on the faceplate, use à socket with tape or paper between the surface and the wrench itself, these are the reason why there's so many of these receiver who have scraches near these bolts.
Hi, I have an old Technics SU-V6 that looks nearly identical to your amplifier inside. What electrical cleaning solutions do you recommend? I need to get mine up and running again; my late father would be thrilled if I could pull it off and get it working.
To Hifi Barcelona: Beautiful job, nice video. So nice to see someone doing a simple, though not unskilled, job so well.
wow, beautiful receiver you made it look like new
Thank You! I like very much restore!
Vacuum cleaners create a heck of a lot of static electricity. That is by far the best way to fry any sensitive components
I sure wish I read your comment before frying my amp 😢
@@bigmacfullerton7870 sorry for your loss :(
same thoughts.
@horacepinker6578 what's your solution in the instance of this video? Seemed to work fine in this video.

Beautiful work!
Very artistic! 👍🏿
What material did you get to clean up the knobs and faceplate?
I am a little skeptical of causing some damage to the numbers and so
Warm water and neutral soap. And tooth paste to disolve the nicotinne
Stop with crescent wrench and use the right tools for the job!
Why? It does the Job and i can do it catefully.
I just opened up my 2010 Teac and it’s even worse !! It’s miracle it hasn’t gone up in flames🤣🤣🤣

First a vacuum Tube and a brush. And when most of the dust has gone, a brush and isopropilic alcohol.

Moltes gràcies Joan! Es un plaer compartir-ho!
I bought an old Optonica and it's smelly. How do I stop it from smelling? How do I clean it up
The best way is to use isopropilic alcohol.
@@HifiBarcelona Does regular Ethanol not work?
@@vladimirdjokic5741 That is for drinking, not cleaning but yes it will make it smell like ever clear.
What is the proper name to that LED light you used that looks like a glass fuse so I can search it online? Thank you.

Thanks for showing me how to fry my amp with a shop vac!!! Would you like to pay for the costly repairs???
Wow he didn't have that problem. Maybe your issue is more specific than just using a vacuum.
Great job! 👍
