The fact Darcy’s actor was unsure about playing the role because he didn’t think himself attractive enough for it is INSANE. Like this man is a specimennnn
Ive heard several people say this is the only film he looks good in. Multiple people who I dont think know eachother. The first time I heard it I was just blown away that someone would say that. Now I wonder exactly his other roles have been. I havent seen him in anything but this. Does he choose roles where he's usually such skum you cant see past it?
When Darcy helps her in the carriage he can’t control himself around her so he touched her hand helping her and that was his reaction/urge to feel her in some way to get closer to Elizabeth.
Not you thinking that mr darcy flexing his hand after touching elizabeth was a hygiene thing, thats the first time i saw someone interpret that scene like that😭
😂😂 it seen it somewhere else where someone who was a germaphobe would do stuff like that and my mind went straight to it 😂😭
@@wwhn I know exactly what you mean. After years of watching Monk , he would do the same movement and then ask for a handwipe 🤣😄
The thing about the houses, American homes would’ve been fairly new in this time period but in the uk the homes were old even then. The oldest house built in England still in use was built in 1148, 600 ish years before this is set. Sorry for the random history lesson and love your reactions 😊
Wow no it’s okay it’s very interesting!
I can’t wait to watch your reaction to this - this is my ULTIMATE comfort film and I’ll never get tired of watching it 🥰🥰🥰
It’s been added to mine also 🥹
A few things to note...
1.) Wickham and Georgiana (Darcy's sister) were never married. He wooed/courted/seduced her in hopes of marrying her for her fortune, but Darcy shut that down real quick. And so, with no hope of access to money, Wickham left.
2.) Mama Bennett is very similar to Portia Featherington from Bridgerton. Both have daughters and no sons to inherit. They want their daughters married off to secure their futures because there is no guarantee that the one who is set to inherit (Mr Collins, the cousin) would allow them to continue to live in the house. He could kick them out and they'd be homeless.
3.) When that scene happened in Bridgerton S3E7 (Colin & Penelope dancing at their wedding), I literally screamed "THEY DID THE PRIDE & PREJUDICE THING!"
This is my favorite movie ever, I can watch it over and over again and not get sick of it, but there's nothing like watching someone react to it for the first time!!
“Call my dragon! And we riding out!” Hahaha loved your reaction! ❤
girl i have been at my job from 7-3pm and had my phD classes from 3pm to 7pm AND THIS IS JUST WHAT I NEEDED im exhausted from life
27:50 This always made me feel horrible for Lizzie's mom. She was annoying and hyper fixated on getting her daughters married but back then when women had no options and would be on the streets if they did not secure a husband (aka financial security), it does make sense. She was lax with her daughters in so many other ways, ex: no governess, letting the younger daughters out into society before the eldest was married, etc. She could have been genuinely horrible to them.
Yeaaah ! Great timing I was soooo bored 😂 also congrats for the 25k subscribers ❤
Thank you friendddd 🥹
So glad you got to react to this !!! One of my fave comfort movies 🥺🥺
I know people often don't think much of the mum in favour of hyping up the dad, but when you REALLY think about it - Mr. Collins was to inherit everything if no alliance of any sort was made, solely because he's the closest male relative. Since he married a friend of the family's (Charlotte), the odds of him making the Bennets leave their home lessens. But he still has the right to turn them out any day. The dad has made zero effort to make sure his daughters would have a home after his death. The reason for the mother's "nerves" is that it kind of is entirely up to her to make sure her daughters secure a future, because the dad doesn't do much. Like, she's definitely a piece of work, don't get me wrong, but considering the time and setting? Yeah, I think I would be a wreck walking on eggshells trying to get my daughters married off too.
i have never watched this but EVERYONE has been telling me to and now i think im gonna have to watchhh
yes definitely watch it love even if it’s just once!!
I love Pride and Prejudice and I could watch it over and over! I actually met Jenna Malone (the one who plays Lydia Bennett and Joanna Mason in the Hunger Games). She’s so nice!
I always love your reactions to love stories! So sweet!
Also, my comment on one of your last videos would have made more sense on this one. lol But I recommended the show Anne with an E! I would love to see you react to it! It's a period piece as well, but it's so good! It tackles serious issues, while at the same time being super heartwarming. I really think you'd love it!
I could see the “fully invested” just blooming on your face as this movie went on❤❤. This movie is a goodie. So romantic and relaxing. Curl up in a blanket with a hot tea on a cloudy day type of thing!
You should add Little women to the list 💜

One of my favorite romantic movies!! 🥰 The cinematography and music are so lovely. I almost spat out my coffee laughing when you said Darcy looked like Thackery Binx at the end. 😂😂😂

I love your personality. Your videos are a delight to watch.
the reaction to him holding her hand to get in the carriage is because skin to skin was very intimate back then. He was very drawn to her & touched her for the first time.
Can you make a vid watching "Flipped" [is on Amazon Prime]. Is such a cute, sweet movie. You'll totally love it.
Also, your reactions never disappoint! P&P is one of my favorite movies. ❤

OMGMMGMGMGMG BEST NOTIF ONE OF MY FAV BOOKS TO FILMS OF ALL TIME
Love, love, love, love this 🥰
Its 3 hours, but you didnt want it to end, i love romance too❤
I love pride and prejudice! This takes place during regency era England- women needed to marry well especially when it came to their safetyy. the Bennet property's entailed to mr Bennet in a way where it can only go to a male relative which means when he dies they can all be kicked out- mrs Bennet's pursuit to get her daughters married well is understandable and justified- Mr Bennet honestly takes the situation way to lightly. during this time it was not uncommon for cousins to marry each other especially if you were upper middle class and wealthy. there were different types of currency during this time and one of the forms of currency was who you were connected too- your family, friends and aquaintances etc. upper middle class- wealthy often had more then one estate. in the eyes of regency englandmLydia is fallen/a disgrace/whore etc-. Eloping was more than just frowned upon, you were kicked out of society and your actions effected your entire family, by Lydia eloping she tarnished her sisters reputations and made them in the eyes of society ineligible/ unacceptable to marry. Wickham is not married to Georgiana Darcy was able to prevent the elopement.
I just wanted to say I really love your videos 😊
It means so much friend 🥹🩵
15:36 is me when i first seen this as a kid. I was getting so confused by who knows who 😂😂😂😂 Love this reaction 🫶🏾
You need to watch The Bucaneers I think you would love it
I honestly feel like Darcy was interested in Elizabeth since the first time he saw her and that's why he did a double take when he sees her for the first time. He only calls her "mid" because of his ego. The scene is cut from this video tho
Wickem didn’t marry Georgina. He tried to marry her
You have a great reaction channel. I love your reaction to Brokeback Mountain. Subscribed.
Caroline Bingley does not like Lizzie and it is because she has basically set her cap to Mr Darcy and wants him to be hers. In the other adaptations she is a huge hater and it's more apparent, especially In the book. It's not represented well in this movie, but she a big hater.
One of my favorite period movies ❤
Such a great watch!!
10:13 you’re too funny 😭
6:00 lmaoo
OOOOOooooo i just know this will have you going crazy 😂❤
🤭😂🤗
@@wwhn "you have bewitched me body and soul" 😭💗😭💗😭 gets me every time
AAAAHHHHHHHH 😍😍😍
Hehe, you being intimidated by the 3 hr movie while I’m over here wanting more people to take on the 6 hr BBC miniseries version. This one is a visual masterpiece but I feel like the miniseries feel gives all the characters more interesting depth and is better from the storytelling aspect.
I've never clicked so fast ❤
yay!!!!!!!!!
your hatred of the mama is toooo much. cut her some slack 😭
Lol friend, she shoulda cut her daughters some slack 😭😂 the expectation was too MURCH.
im that annoying person to say that the 1995 BBC tv mini series of Pride and Prejudice is MILES better than this film (to the point where when it was referenced in Barbie 2023 i felt personally ATTACKED) - but any adaptation of Austen's works is always welcomed by me!
It's amazing because like you, any adaptation of Austen's is going to be embraced by me but the 1995 mini series never struck me. North & South on the other hand...
Of course you are right. But I don't think too many reacters will do the miniseries though. It's a shame. Maybe the newest version of Emma?
potatoes are also my favorite vegetable (even though they’re not a vegetable 😂)
then what is it...
@ i was thinking of it nutritionally as a starch, but i guess scientifically it is a vegetable 😅
