A video outlining the steps to take the right classes, getting a 99 on the PCAT, and the experience you need to get in to pharmacy with advice on pharmacy, pre-pharmacy admissions.
Thanks for this video! Makes a lot of sense as to how to get into pharmacy school. It's also very encouraging, as a student with a bad academic track record, to hear that someone else has made it through.
+Manda Adrianna Pharmacy schools are getting better at looking at the whole picture, ideally grades go up and that trend can help students with a poor record get in
I'm take my pre-pharmacy courses and I found this to be very informative. I have been a tech for 10 years and am looking forward to completing pharmacy school. Thanks so much for more info on the PCAT
Thank you for sharing your journey. I have been a technician for 14 years and have thought about going back to school to become a pharmacist. Being that I have been out of college for so long, I wasn't sure where I needed to begin when it came to coursework. I will take what you shared and apply it.
I believe you will find many students in your position, at least a core group to spend time with during your pharmacy school days. Let me know if I can help in any way.
This really helped. I was going to do nursing and realize I want pharmacy and I thought I should take a lot of classes since I need more sciences. But you are right. It's good to take your time and get the best grade you can.
Good luck!
Thank you this was helpful.
Thanks. Email if you have any questions. aaguerra@dmacc.edu

Hi, can you tell me how well you did as a junior and senior? Weird question, but I'd really like to know
As a junior and senior in high school, I was average, 3.3 or so, but I scored very well on the SAT. I never made it to my junior year of college before pharmacy school, I earned an A.A. from the University of Florida. Does that help?
Yes, thank you. Also, what is your GPA scale out of? Like a 4.33? Thank you!!
Velvetine Queen I'm old school. 4.0 is as high as it went.
Can you tell me which 3 year school i should apply to with a 3.0 GPA? is Pacific university good? And what is the meaning of acceptance rate for each school?
Eman Gamal I think you should apply to all 3 year schools you can because you don't know how much it will cost ... most schools are equalish but coming out with more debt for the same product is a bad move so I recommend many applications for many choices you are competitive and I think you may not see yourself that way
So do you think all the schools on pharmCAS are good since they are all accredited? or I still have to do more research for every school before I apply.
Eman Gamal accredited doesn't mean quality anymore if schools can be accredited with NAPLEX pass rates in the 50s you need to look at cost pass rate on NAPLEX and how many people graduate out of those that started careful if you see persistence rate that is misleading saying someone didn't fail out but had an extra year
Tony PharmD so if acceptance rate is 29% for a school but NAPLEX pass rate is 91%, what is that supposed to mean? I just do not understand the idea behind the acceptance rate? Why will it be low and pass rates for NAPLEX are high!
Eman Gamal in general the harder it is to get in the smarter your classmates and smarter the people you study with think of how you develop in an honors class vs standard class you will likely do better in honors class ... that isn't always true .. I had top 10 school with low cost and high pass rate at Maryland in state so that's how I chose mine
can you tell me if any international student who finished their pharmacy .. and his equivalency in pharmaceutical science in USA with 3.33 GPA . so, how can he apply for register pharmacist in USA.
+Nizarali Karedia Nizarali, it depends on the country you are from and the state you are going to, here is the link for the appropriate people to contact.
