This is how to visualise the guitar fretboard using the CAGED system, but crucially how to understand it via using a guitar capo. There are a few useful exercises in this video, and I expand upon this system over on The Fretboard Atlas, where we pair up the chord shapes with bass note options.

Thank you so much Shane! I watched your guitar session at the 2023 Iowa Irishfest in Waterloo and the information was invaluable. Thanks again!
Thanks Wesley !
Really great exercises! Shane has his own submission of the material.
Thanks Sasha!
Well explained Shane... Thanx🙏🙏🙏
Thank you!
Genious
You’re too kind! Thanks brother
Shane, this was so helpful. Wish I still lived in Dublin. I'd look you up. I've played for 50 years but still shy away from melodic playing. I'm going to work through the capo/caged exercises and see if I can find my way around a bit better. Thanks again.
Thank you! I can do Skype/Zoom lessons too if they would help you. If you message me directly via my website we can get a time & date set up. Thanks for watching Durand !
Perfect explanation Shane! Keep it up
😄😄
what guitar is that master?
It's a Maton, made in Australia
