D199 had believed himself to be revolutionary, sure he was for his time but as they say, times change. Better diesels came out of the factories and would take his work from him. Eventually his controller saw it better to scrap D199 than keep him on the rails. Henry had come to take D199 to the scrapyard, what D199 didn’t notice was that even Henry seemed forlorn to be doing this. Sure Henry had catharsis during their first meeting when Henry had to save D199’s train, but he hated having to send an engine to the scrapyard. D199 just thought it was the final insult to his legacy. D199 was left just outside the scrapyard, as it was too overstocked at the moment. Henry left quickly so he could be away from such a dreadful place. When Henry couldn’t be heard, D199 finally opened his eyes, course a pain in his left eye forced it shut. Course what he wasn’t expecting to see in front of him was Diesel 7101, his paint may have been different but D199 could always tell it was him. He was going by the name Bear now, which D199 thought was ridiculous, but slightly more dignified than Spamcan. “Have you come to rub it in, 7101? Come to send me off to be melted down to spam cans?” D199 said in pained anger. “No i haven’t. I’ve come to talk.” Bear said with a look of sincerity on his face. D199’s anger slowly started to turn to a confused scowl. “We both came to Sodor to help them and to make a good impression for our line. Sure we were both revolutionary, but you shouldn’t have flaunted it around and been rude to everyone.” “We were revolutionary, it’s a stated fact! That island was full of ancient tea kettles that was in desperate need for modernization.” Bear’s engine growled loudly to quiet D199. “You will not talk about my friends like that! They are good engines who care for one another and have a good work ethic. They even were kind enough to accept me even with my accident. It’s a little something called decency D199. Maybe if you had that, the Fat Controller would have brought you on.” D199 looked down to his remaining buffer, being talked down by another diesel defending steam engines gave him a confused feeling of being mad but also contemplation. He didn’t even look back up at Bear who now started to frown. “I’m sorry William, I’m really sorry.” Bear started to leave, D199 continued to stare down his buffer. A tear had fallen on to it. D199 had learned his lesson, but he had learned it too late.
I feel like awdry would make a book series with this type of story, only that it lead to D261, and Even Diesel worrying for safety after these events. I picture they would try and behave while construction took place somewhere, but they would screw up and end up being forced to sleep at the smelters. The next day they would be brought back. Not changed yet, but definitely more decent engines. Of course they both won't be melted down, but be permanently sent to work as goods or shunters by topham, and would have an arc from then on. Also, Bear would probably connect to this story by Edward or a wise character asking of him to do it. That's just my hunch, honestly T_T -
My poor boi D199... :'( Nice job on this! I still absolutely love your TVS takes on the RWS fan-favourites, especially D199. Your knowledge of TVS prop components has really created what I feel is the most believable-looking TVS D199 model to date.

Probably won't see this, but you made a masterpiece, even if it was cancelled. this brought a tear to me and my bud's eyes but we got to thinking. This however, got me brainstorming a story. If D199 is a peak class, and since he was brand new out of the shop. That would mean he would have been a Peak 44. And a good amount of them babies run around now because they were wonderful diesals, so maybe a line was looking to try and buy a peak class and suddenly stumbled across D199. When they went up to buy him, of course the scarpyard owner was against it because, in his words. "The thing is one of those types of engines. All big brass and no honor for there eldar's." But the buyers still wanted to buy him, and so the plans were made, but over time, close to the span of 6 weeks. In the coming weeks. After the words Bear had given him, D199; no, William had seen the other types of his class come, and other none standard diseal come in. Some screaming and yelling out swears, some crying and feeling betray, and some just accepting it and remosing over the years they had with the engines they worked with. Steam and diesel, and then one of the diesel was placed next to him. A class 40 numbered "40135" came to him, and seeing the peak like he was, felt bad for him. The two talked over those empty weeks, but to William it felt like years. He asked the engine that had came before his class how was it working with steam engines and why did diesel like him have this type of ego. The old diesel just laughed and smiled as he explained the lies of the builders and how they wanted to show a new light on the rails, and went the wrong way about it. William couldn't believe his radiators, oh what was left of them, to the many wonders and amazing things steam engines and diesel had done together. Then what broke him was he watched a Black five come puffing in carrying a peak 44. The engine was asleep, seems to have made peace with it's fate. The steamy looked sad but honorable about it. "40135" Closed his eyes and then said to William. "We are machines made by mankind to help them do wonderful things. At the end of the day, we are all brothers and sisters of the same family. We live to run, pull, shunt, and haul. Our main goals are to move humanity foward, to make happy times and memoires, and to the people who love us, they will always take care of us as long as they can. Steam scrap diesel, and diesel scrap steam, but in the end. We have to honor the old and fallen, the ones that made it possible for us to be created. Because every engine every made, was a really useful engine in there own way." Those words hit him, and he started to cry out for mercey. He wanted to live, he wanted to be saved. He had seen his errors, he had seen his mistakes, and above all ELSE. He had seen his friend, Bear, running a train with him, both of them working hard together, along side other diesel and steam engines. He pleded for forgiveness to all the steam engines in the yard. Much to the shock, but happiness of the "40135" and the other steam engines who weren't asleep. William closed his eyes once again with tears in them. Then he heard a soft word. "I forgive you." His eyes shot open as he saw none other then henry and the fat controller, or at least his son. He begged the man to buy him and apologized like mad to henery. Who stood there and listened ot it all with a calm but warm smile. Just then the managar had showed up who owned the yard, along wit hthe people who wanted to buy the engine, and they too were smiling. It was agreed on that william will be brought buy the heratiage line and will be restored, and the fat controller, who was friends with the line, had come to help purchase the engine so it could be made possible. When William looked to his left, "40135" was nowhere to be seen. He was shocked and looked all around, but he wasn't anywere to be seen. He told the scrap yard owner about the diesel, but he said no engine with that number had come into the yard for the past 6 weeks.... 6 whole weeks had passed and William didn't know it until now. He looked down to his buffers before the owner spoke up. "A diesel by the number "40134" had came in though, one week you and him were together before he....was cut up in the back." William was spechless but remembered something about ghosts and spirits comign to teach the young and help them out, and this must have been his gift from that diesel. So that he could have a second chance. Once henry had coupled up to William, he asked for his name. William was about to answer spamcan, but stopped himself and for the first time talked to a steam engine with a happy tone. "William, My name is William. I'm a peak 44 class diesel that have been grateful for all that i have done and was able to do, and i apologize for all the terrible things i've done and said." Henry chuckled and the people smiled. "attaboy william." Said the heritage line. the journey was long, but soon enough William had arrived. Of course on the way there henry told him all the things that has happened to the engines, including bear. It felt warm and funny inside his empty engine room. His friend was indeed having a wonderful life with the new friends he made, and he was happy for that. However once he had arrived to his new home. There he saw "40135." He gasped as it looked just like the engine in the scrapyards, just cleaner and running. The diesel welcomed him there, as well as a deltic and a school class 4-4-0 southern engine. He felt weird, uncomfortable, but remember what that old and wise diesel had said, and he smiled. William was given a new lease on life, and he was going to make amends for the stuff he could, in honor of the steam brothers and sisters, in honor of "40134" in honor of Bear. And now, William had been repaired and runs alongside "40135" They even made some trips to sodor were he made amends and apologises to all the engines, including bear, who was proud to see his old friend finally having a happy and cheerful life.
