@@js66613 One of the few cases where going off-script could actually end improving the product because I really don't see how they could make something worse lmao
The way that Beastars concluded felt like Paru just wanted to end the series after the Melon arc but realized that there where a ton of loose threads that needed to be dealt with, but only manages to cover some of them. One example, that organization of bats that had their sights on hybrids, particularly that instance where Gosha defended a bunch of hybrid children from a bat posing as their janitor. They are never brought back after those chapters were they're introduced. Part of the problem seems to be that Paru kept adding story elements/ideas/concepts to explore but then didn't know how to do so, to the point that some become completely forgotten. Then the ones that are remembered, but not had any real development, are given rather unsatisfying payoffs. It's like she kept throwing things in to see if they could potentially work, and only develops the ones that helped to move things along. Or she introduces things as a setup for a later payoff, but then the story ends up developing in a different way than intended, and the payoff becomes lost. There seemed to be some kind constant shifting in how the story was developing as Paru kept having to figure out how the series should progress. It makes me wonder if Paru didn't know where to go after the Melon arc, and decided to just end things there. But yeah, "That's it?" was very much what I said to myself when reading the ending. Paru had built too many things up for it all to just end like that.
To be fair I've always wondered if Paru didn't wanted to continue for arc or two more, but then for some reason had to finish the series. I really was expecting that figuring out how to make life work without back alley market and tying loose ends about where characters would end would be last arc on to itself, as well as maybe further exploration of adult life. Hell, we've found out what "beastars" mean almost at the end of the story. It really feels like there was arc or two missing
I get the sense that, towards the end, there was a lot of editorial changes and influences, which would explain why characters and conflicts that are introduced but not seen again. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case because it was veering into a shonen story arc a bit (which is probably one of the "safer" kinds of formulaic genres out there to executives that run manga and anime businesses, similar to isekai). Beastars is a series that touches on what would be sensitive topics in Japan subtly (such as how gender roles are viewed traditionally, the way minorities and women are treated, and how people that are mixed race are looked down at), so I bet there was some old executives or editors or somebody that was getting a little uncomfortable at where the story was going and wanted to change things to make it "palatable" for readers.
@@ANZAKA_ACROMNIA It's pronounced like that in everywhere except Asian countries, buddy. "Rouis" is a Romanized spelling of "Louis" in Japan, since the Japanese alphabet does not have the character for L, or rather, the character for L and R both share the same place. "Rouis" is literally the Japanese equivalent of "Louis."
33:13-33:33. THANK YOU, someone, finally agrees with me on Louis' ending. We in the fandom have made plenty of stories where Louis ends up with Juno one way or another.
It's also the reason she kept that relationship secret for a while. She didn't want people to assume her manga only reached fame because of her dad's fame.
Beastars is single handedly what made me fall in love with digital anime. I have read the manga and I can barely believe how much hate and little positive recognition this wonderful series gets. I adore Beastars
@@moistwrmonastring1017 yesss!!! More fans!! I’m shocked too that it doesn’t get more recognition. I think many people pass judgement about it being for furries without giving it a chance. Too bad. They’re missing out. I read the manga too and enjoyed it greatly
I was so disappointed with the ending. The series just has so much potential for growth and now its done. The final sequence felt rushed with way too much cutting back and forth. The world building is just so fucking good though.
To me it really feels like there was arc or two missing. Even during final arc, Paru just kept adding more and more loose ends, and introducing characters that could possibly be supporting cast later down the line. 9 and 3 would be great when exploring back alley market, now that it has been revealed to public. Maybe instead completely getting rid of the place, dedicate part of an arc to trying and make it work within the law. Character resolutions is another point that we just needed to see more. How come Luis ended up back in the corporation? What of Legoshi and Haru now that they're officially dating? Juno? What about Jack? And we still don't really know what the heck title means. Or who will become the beastar. What is a job of a beastar? Is it always just being vigilante, or the way of being a beastar depends on individual? Bats? What of them? And I'm not bitter because I want to see more of this super well crafted world. I want more world AND answers.
37:29 I think that tendency to judge something largely by its ending (plus its points of greatest intensity) rather than the total experience is called the "peak-end rule".
I don't like how so many relegate Beastars to be just a furry show. I watched the anime and read the manga to the end and I don't honestly find any character to be exactly that attractive. I just enjoyed the story and the characters and I would like to see more people to give the series a fair change before judging it.
@@filipvadas7602 Exactly. By some of the more vague definitions logic that I've seen, enjoying shows like Chowder or Spongebob would be enough to classify someone a furry
The term furry is just way vague. I personally think that to be classified as a furry, you have to engage in furry fandoms and call yourself a furry because just saying that liking media with antro animals would mean that just about everyone in the world is a furry. You have Looney toons, Tom and Jerry, Mickey mouse, etc...
Exactly, just because it has anthropromorphic animals as characters doesn't mean the people who like Beastars are 'Furries', being a furry is a choice plain and simple.
I just hope that the anime remedies some of these issues or hell give a proper conclusion. Solid video, might give this show a go since I've kind of avoided it.
*Spoilers* Legosi learns to use --Stands-- inner beasts from Kyuu. It doesn't matter. Melon bribes Kyuu to learn about Legosi's weaknesses. It doesn't matter. Legosi ends up fighting the Predator leaders in a gang war in the span of 1-2 chapters each, one time wearing a dress & high heels. It doesn't matter. Legosi beats Melon. It doesn't matter and the series just abruptly ends right after that
32:33 note: all of these characters from the apartment got their own short stories from the short "Beast Complex" manga Paru made alongside and after she was done with beastars. Edit: She is still continuing this manga. It even continues with Legosi and Haru's relationship in the latest chapter. Go read it. But yeah, still would've like to see the other character's stories conclusion.
I feel bad for Louis. Also the sacrifice felt like such a cop-out too personally. I mean, I have gripes with both zootopia and beastars but they also both have their positives and each works as their own thing. I don't think comparing them really does them justice so I wouldn't say on is better while the other is worse.
9:46 Haru bye far(in my opinion)is one of my favorite Character to walk the Earth As soon as she explains her reasons why she sleeps around makes me cry every time
one of the main issues I had with the ending that wasn't really mentioned, everyone starts praising Legosi that he changed the world when narratively it doesn't really follow how his actions contributed directly towards the result of the ending. Beating up the bad guy didn't do as much as Louie's TV outburst.
@@blondiefox2781 I believe Haru did mentioned that as well, but from her perspective that statement would be true as well. But I don't really recall Legoshi being publicly acknowledged.
I think there's a lot of male/female allegory in Beastars. Especially with how rapey some of the dialogue from the initial predator sounds or how Legosi seems to be confused if he wants to eat Haru or sleep with her. And there's also the design of herbivores being mostly lithe and feminine while predators are big and manly (compare Legosi to Louis and contrast with real size difference between a gray wolf and a red deer, the latter being up three times heavier than the former IRL).
Dude same. It’s just the world, the story, the characters, pretty much everything about it is perfect... well maybe not the fanbase(you know what kind of fanbase I’m referring to).
A personal favourite series which really connected with me and had me reflect upon myself, the world and the piece itself after i read it. Then after 2 days i read it all again. I only do that for short pieces or novels so that must show how good it was. Also Beast Complex is really good and i love the expansion to the world and characters it brings, can't wait for more.
I've felt the fish sausage underminds everything that ever happened with the conflict the carnivores would face. Obviously, the seal foreshadowed it as sea life have a much simple approach of life and even believe in reincarnation, but why was seafood never brought up beforehand when the whale appeared and stopped the Carni-Herbie war? Kyu also felt like a waste of time with Imaginary Chimera only existing as a test to show if Legoshi would still commit to Haru, rather than something he would use against Melon as they're both chimeras.
This anime is awesome the art style of every animal is so well drawn the details are well made this a great anime that is worth checking out/watching 🙂
Sincerelly, i love Beastars, a 8/10 from me, and you can ask why just a 8/10 if you love it?Because the last arc killed it a little for me, it was an arc all over the place and ended in a way that let a lot of plot points not answered, sincerely probably the worst arc of the series for me(thought i could be forgetting some arc that also wasn't that good, i did read beastars a while ago...)
"Speaking of love interests for Legoshi, LET'S TALK ABOUT LOuiS" Ngl, otp. Haru is best girl, no doubt, but Legoshi and Louis are star-crossed soulmates 🤣
I'll be honest and admit that in my head Louis followed his own path and got together with Juno. The pair of them have such amazing chemistry that i was rooting for them just as much as I was rooting for Haru and Legoshi. So that ending was heartbreaking. Overall I still love Beastars and it become one of my favorite anime.
You're like IHE; your channel name implies you want everything you talk about to just stop, but you give merits wherever you can. I have to admit, I was drawn to the Zootopia-style commentary on prejudice, I stayed for the tension, the animation, and its taste in music!
Legosi befriending Sagwan was what most likely helped the sea life want to deal with the land life by deporting meat for them. A shark hearing "I am friends with spotted seal" from a wolf was MAJOR, as it meant a true friendship was made between a land creature and a sea creature. This was an extra layer with Legosi's want for the world for preds and prey to accept each other and safely be friends and such (for both HIS personal world AND society as a whole). But Legosi and Sagwan get no credit. And the BIG BIG BIG buildup of the ancient whale talking with the beastar and dropping the news of "hey we don't make death a big deal and fully accept the circle of life so we'll process our dead to be your food" just...didn't go anywhere. No major announcement. No massive freak out of the animal committee with THE BIGGEST society changing thing being dropped on them. No announcement of meat markets not being needed now that preds can safely consume meat for nourishment and to sate their hunting instincts. I was waiting for more to come from it, especially learning that over time, the more prehistoric preds devolved in size due to trying to cull their meat diet and low-key domesticized themselves over the generations JUST to show they're willing to change themselves and make a conjoined society with the prey. But...yeah....majorly disappointed in that. I thought Legosi making friends/having a love life with prey folk AND befriending someone from the sea would have made him the beastar for sure, but the dude gets nothing... The ending could have been worse, but it sure as hell could have been better too. Also majorly disappointed that you indulged in gushing over this manga/anime and yet didn't make a fursona avi like you did dressing up with your 'Fairy Tail' overview. BOOOOOOOO. Shoulda drew yourself up/comished a set of furry pics to use you coward =V
Louis does start to take his relationship with his wife seriously at the end. He offers her a date despite it not having any value for the company, showing that they may end up in an actual loving relationship down the line. Additionally, she did try multiple times to interact with him to deepen their relationship.
@@greywolf845 You forget that this was RIGHT AFTER Juno kissed him. Plus, Louis has always had a complex view on carnivores. He wasn't in the right mind set at the time. He wanted to try and make his fiance happy, but forcing one's self to 'perform' under a lot of stress and anxiety would make anyone sick. And it is shown directly after that she was with him the entire time he was ill. It might be a political marriage, but that doesn't mean actual feelings can't be involved.
To be fair Luis is a good guy. He either started to feel something to his now wife, or he's asking her out just for her comfort. Either way, he does care about her, even if not in a way he's apparently supposed to. And who knows, maybe he'll manage to open up to her as well. I'm just wondering what lead him to accept his arranged marriage. That would be nice to know
Well, Legoshi & Haru got a chapter so hey: The potential's there! (Also turns out pretty much every *new* issue is about other residents of The Hidden Condo)
Ah, Beastars, my favorite thing until it became a staircase that went nowhere and I lost faith during the entire last arc despite holding on as long as I can Edit: Also it’s called BEASTARS and Legosi and Louis never BECAME Beastars??? Also Louis is my favorite character ever and this story literally hates him
Very fascinating series, and It did lead me to wonder the ideas and possible concepts this series can hold. There is even one Human OC who like Gohan the panda is a predator psychoanalyst and even rehabilitate preds, but rarely use force, odd but realistic logic to help. Leading to help the best he can for pred and prey kind. But it's up to there choice if they want to live there path. But he was not popular as I hope, so I switched.
I don’t know if this was said by melon himself or by jack when talking to legoshi about the herbivore-carnivore war, but they mention how carnivores never ate herbivore meat until AFTER the war, and I think that’s why paru may have ended the black market the way she did. This does seems to clear up the reason behind her choice, however I do believe the way you thought it was going to happen made more sense, in the real world carnivores have always eaten meat so I do believe it would have made more sense if it went the way you said. (But I mean this is the same show where legoshi literally turns into a bunch of months in the middle of the ritz fight so I dunno at this point man)
Honestly the animated series really creeped me out and after a certain point we had to stop watching because of the sexual content and the dynamic between predator and prey in that sense. I definitely wouldn't suggest this series to anyone who's experienced trauma where they felt preyed upon. There were definitely things I liked about the series or I wouldn't have kept watching until mentioned point. Maybe I'll try continuing since I got a taste of what's after what I saw (and am in a better place)
Man all the characters are just a cool, and their own stories, the art style, literally all of it is just so cool and interesting. I agree with everything you said in the video, cons and pros. But really beastars is just so interesting. All of the dedication between the characters and complications is just great. Besides the ending, no offense but it was kinda disappointing imo-
I really hope they either redo the ending for the show.or just edit and make it make more sense. I'm not a huge manga reader (beastars is the only one I've read) so idk if this is a practice done, but I really hope given time Paru figures out how to actually end this in the time it takes the anime to catch up. We shall SEEE

I hate when people attempt to correct you - even though it’s not - when it comes to Legosi’s name. The name comes from Bella Legosi, a very famous actor that played the Wolfman in the black and white movie of the same name. It’s not Legoshi and neither do the characters actually say that, it’s just how they pronounce it because little known fact, the Japanese way of pronunciation involves saying the whole world at relatively close intervals - unlike in English, words aren’t stressed and they’re pushed out much faster, so to facilitate this certain letters merge and it creates slightly different sounds, (in short, it’s Legosi not Legoshi).
Great series but suffers the manga collapsing on itself in the end curse. At least Beast Complex does not have anything to collapse on since it is an anthology.
I used to love Beastars, but during the Melon arc problems started piling on and on until I started questioning the world. Many of the themes are contradictory, the worldbuilding colapses on itself, and I just can't keep thinking that, as much as I hate to admit it, Zootopia did it better.
Forgive my lacking vocabulary, but I love the way you put together the footage. I noticed how you used the anime as b-roll or background footage and used panels from the manga as the focus of the video. Very interesting attention to detail that blends in seamlessly with the video and provides a bit of visual flare.
I do hope they can change the ending in the anime. I honestly would give it a pass. I do wonder if the creator would answer on why they chose to end it that way it would be interesting to hear their reasons.
In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the *new*. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends. Last night, I experienced something new: an extraordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about fine cooking is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for Chef Gusteau's famous motto, "Anyone can cook." But I realize, only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not everyone can become a great artist; but a great artist *can* come from *anywhere*. It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now cooking at Gusteau's, who is, in this critic's opinion, nothing less than the finest chef in France. I will be returning to Gusteau's soon, hungry for more.
I'm pretty sure that zootopia was going to be darker and would focus on the prejudices of what nick wiled faced in his daily life but it was seen as too dark and not suitable for kids. Also the word 'kids' are meant as a child goat, so if you ever make a person confused and annoyed just say that their children and/or parent goats by saying that lol.
I find it funny that this was airing alongside ANOTHER anime about a school for animals. The difference being that the latter felt WAY more like a traditional anime and I swear I use to call it My Gym Partners' a Monkey; THE ANIME!
I really hate that whomever did the subs for the anime adaptation stupidly kept Louis as "Rouis" and yet called Haru "Hal." Reading that over and over kills me.
Zootopia using animals to explore those themes are for a simple reason it allows them to explore prejudice without those in the audience potentially being blinded by their own prejudice. It handles the idea of racism without handling specific real-world instances of racism as such using people would make it difficult to do so. There's also the fact that animals themselves already have their own stereotypes to play around it that many cultures are familiar with so you avoid having to make up your own races or ethnic groups and then explaining what traits they are accosted with.
9:15 Okay I'm actually gonna do the thing where I'm the one to bring up a potentially uncomfortable topic, I notice that rebecca sugar (steven universe creator) constantly obsesses over many factions of black folk, from the interracial couples like connie and steven, shep and sadie, mr smiley and mr frownie, to the non-binary and racism PSA's that only have blacks for some reason with no one else to share the spotlight, and ruby/sapphire being symbolism for her relationship with Ian. I was kind of uncomfortable with the thought of sugar trying to be progressive to validate her fetishism, we all have preferences, but there are subconscious ways peoples obsession bleeds through their work without them being lucid, to the point where you need someone else to point it out for people, so they either acknowledge and decided if their behavior is odd or not and what their sensibilities are, but then I realized she's just trying to help in her own way, and this is the only way she knows how. That can be mistranslated to a lot of other people as her putting one type of PoC above another or having a kink, but regardless, her intentions are to help, and not to indulge. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
furthermore, I also see this when pearl is needy and obsessive towards garnet and takes advantage of her, I'm probably reading too far into it but sugar did say pearl is the character most like her

When the world was inundated with the blight that is the alpha and omega series, Beastars came in to show us how it's truly done
Beastars in a nutshell is literally just: Racism, then furry secks, then we live in a society
Yes and no at the same time
@mr freakout she didn't even knew what a furry was so
Ok how come he says lesgosi but still says Rouis for Louis? Literally the only nitpick I can see
That’s how they pronounce it in Japan
@@owenkasun5333 I know, but that's not how we pronounce it in America.
maybe he's just used to pronouncing it that way
@@Snow-dv7hx ah yes. Because everyone has to pronounce it like how Americans.
Fun Fact: The creater of beastars father wrote Grappler Baki.
The child of a legend
It's also the reason she kept that relationship secret for a while. She didn't want people to assume her manga only reached fame because of her dad's fame.
Beastars is single handedly what made me fall in love with digital anime. I have read the manga and I can barely believe how much hate and little positive recognition this wonderful series gets. I adore Beastars
I adore it too. It’s so deep and has many layers. I’m so glad to see other Beastars fans!!
@@BuddSidewinder Ah!!! I’m so glad to see fans of the series as well! :]
I concur. Maybe the anime show would make some changes
You should check "Beast Complex" which is a continuous series started before Beastars. It features one-off stories.
it also shows the characters from the hidden condo

I think that tendency to judge something largely by its ending (plus its points of greatest intensity) rather than the total experience is called the "peak-end rule".
I don't like how so many relegate Beastars to be just a furry show. I watched the anime and read the manga to the end and I don't honestly find any character to be exactly that attractive. I just enjoyed the story and the characters and I would like to see more people to give the series a fair change before judging it.
same
A little late and same, but in all fairness, what makes something or someone a "furry" has become pretty fucking vague in the past few years
@@filipvadas7602 Exactly.
Solid video, might give this show a go since I've kind of avoided it.
thats if that they even make it all the way to the ending chapters

Legosi beats Melon. It doesn't matter and the series just abruptly ends right after that
32:33 note: all of these characters from the apartment got their own short stories from the short "Beast Complex" manga Paru made alongside and after she was done with beastars.
Edit: She is still continuing this manga. It even continues with Legosi and Haru's relationship in the latest chapter. Go read it. But yeah, still would've like to see the other character's stories conclusion.
Fun fact: The Hungarian last name "Lugosi" is pronounced "Lugoshi" in its native tongue.
"You're a closet furry aren't you squidward"? 😏
No. Spongebob. I'm an open furry. All thanks to Kagemori Michiru.

Haru bye far(in my opinion)is one of my favorite Character to walk the Earth
As soon as she explains her reasons why she sleeps around makes me cry every time
She gave me somewhat of a hope for Sexualy-Deviant Characters both Male & Female
No other character male/female will match her type in my eyes
one of the main issues I had with the ending that wasn't really mentioned, everyone starts praising Legosi that he changed the world when narratively it doesn't really follow how his actions contributed directly towards the result of the ending. Beating up the bad guy didn't do as much as Louie's TV outburst.
By everybody, you mean just Louis? Cause he was literary the only person who said that.
@@blondiefox2781 I believe Haru did mentioned that as well, but from her perspective that statement would be true as well.
But I don't really recall Legoshi being publicly acknowledged.
I'm dead. I thought the title was "How Beastars stole my art" and I was so confused skdbdnsj
And since that day, Just Stop became a Furry. Just Stop the Hedgehog.
I love beastars it was my first anime then it was followed by the promised neverland

Dang, this story is about as depressing as real life.
Why I sat through 40 minutes for a show/manga I was probably not going to read/watch before, I am glad I did cuz this is intriguing.
My problem with beastar boils down to the ending, just like you said, nice job, as always.
There is a few chapters of Beast Complex that feature the residents of the apartment complex
Oh! Those side stories of the roommates...that is in Beast Complex :3
I 100% agree with you. I just read the final chapter and i feel like the last arc could have been much better.
"Speaking of love interests for Legoshi,
LET'S TALK ABOUT LOuiS"
Ngl, otp.
This whole Murder Solution arc just hits the feels so well.
I really hope Paru touches the loose ends with her nee run of Beast Complex
Beastars is definitely my favorite anime ngl
Beastars has to be my favorite manga of all time, with one of the most underwhelming endings ever.
Louis does start to take his relationship with his wife seriously at the end. He offers her a date despite it not having any value for the company, showing that they may end up in an actual loving relationship down the line. Additionally, she did try multiple times to interact with him to deepen their relationship.
And yet he threw up in past interactions and did not find her attractive, nor did he consider their wedding romantic

Ah, Beastars, my favorite thing until it became a staircase that went nowhere and I lost faith during the entire last arc despite holding on as long as I can
Edit: Also it’s called BEASTARS and Legosi and Louis never BECAME Beastars??? Also Louis is my favorite character ever and this story literally hates him
Beastars was such a diamond, one with chips, but a diamond nonetheless
How beastars stole my heart. Aka Just stop finally admits he's a furry.
Read Beast Complex, it addresses several gaps in the story and fleshes out the world a little more.
“How it stole my heart”
OH GOD OH DEAR SAVE THIS MAN

Wake up babe new just stop upload
I don’t know if this was said by melon himself or by jack when talking to legoshi about the herbivore-carnivore war, but they mention how carnivores never ate herbivore meat until AFTER the war, and I think that’s why paru may have ended the black market the way she did.
This does seems to clear up the reason behind her choice, however I do believe the way you thought it was going to happen made more sense, in the real world carnivores have always eaten meat so I do believe it would have made more sense if it went the way you said. (But I mean this is the same show where legoshi literally turns into a bunch of months in the middle of the ritz fight so I dunno at this point man)
I'm so excited for season two
Same, I wish they kept the same intro but I’m just happy we’re getting a season 2. Hopefully it’s as good as season 1 if not better.
Beastars is the first time I read a manga.
Maybe I'll try continuing since I got a taste of what's after what I saw (and am in a better place)
beastars: exist

Lowkey tho, the moment something has an anthropromorphic they're right around the corner

Sucks that the endin aint good too. Hopefully the anime gives a better ending at least
Awesome analysis as always Just Stop! Happy to watch more!
You should read Beast Complex most of Legosi’s Neighbors you mentioned have chapters dedicated to them in it.
33:23 I know, right!? I picture Louis in my head cannon being that world's Doctor who doctor.
So beastars is peak fiction
And now, FINALLY, season three will be coming
Forgive my lacking vocabulary, but I love the way you put together the footage. I noticed how you used the anime as b-roll or background footage and used panels from the manga as the focus of the video. Very interesting attention to detail that blends in seamlessly with the video and provides a bit of visual flare.
I do hope they can change the ending in the anime. I honestly would give it a pass. I do wonder if the creator would answer on why they chose to end it that way it would be interesting to hear their reasons.
Maybe the anime will change the Finale of the series

The dude's name is Louis. As in King Louis. Not rooey.
Maybe the real beastars were the furry friends we made along the way...

Okay I'm actually gonna do the thing where I'm the one to bring up a potentially uncomfortable topic, I notice that rebecca sugar (steven universe creator) constantly obsesses over many factions of black folk, from the interracial couples like connie and steven, shep and sadie, mr smiley and mr frownie, to the non-binary and racism PSA's that only have blacks for some reason with no one else to share the spotlight, and ruby/sapphire being symbolism for her relationship with Ian.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
furthermore, I also see this when pearl is needy and obsessive towards garnet and takes advantage of her, I'm probably reading too far into it but sugar did say pearl is the character most like her
This reminds me of how some white people will absolutely drop everything and kiss the feet of black people during black history month...its like...do you like black people or do you fetishize black people? What is up with that?
