Check HubPiWi - a project at kickstarter. It integrates USB Hub and a WIfi and does not require any Cable or Connector. Also has an onboard PCB Antenna.
That is really great. I might have to do something like this. I am wanting a Pi Zero to get my Dreamcast online with something called a PC-DC server via broadband as the machine uses a 56k modem, and by paring that up to a USB fax modem and a pi zero and an dongle with a custom image that automates it you can connect the console to modern internet.
+Luc Small hey man, is the connectivity of the wifi stable? i mean i don't understand much at electronicts so i have to ask. is the voltage for the usb dongle which runs the wifi, has enought power to run it correctly and stable?
I know it was just a demo, but I would have cut off the extra plastic on off the USB chords before putting it inside whatever case. replying to this comment if you agree, anyone.
could have just used some spare wires instead of hacking up a USB cable, and who knows, maybe there are some spare pins on the CPU or some free IO for wifi
Alternatively, follow the route normal people take which involves an OTG cable

Keyboard and mouse not needed if you ssh. He did address setup, use a full featured Raspberry Pi. If all else fails use a hub.

+BFKAnthony817 .....I love you
Pseth Malone Well I love you too then lol.
Dude I love dreamcast... soo much....
Pseth Malone Same here man! It is my favorite console of all time! I am a PC gamer nowadays but Dreamcast was the greatest hard core console.
ok.but why not using a usb-otg adapter instead of ripping up the wires ?
Why don't using a OTG Cable ????
if you use the micro usb port for wifi, how will you use the Pi Zero w/o keyboard or mouse?
+comebackata2 SSH...
okay
USB hub?
Remote desktop don't need keyboard and mouse and just buy the raspberry pi zero with WiFi and Bluetooth :þ
Nice video Luc, on the way to 50 likes! :)
Nice to c u here as well, love your boating videos!
Anogoya Dagaati Thanks mate!
Connect to hdmi a monitor/tv, add a keyboard via micro usb cable and configure.

Yeah am USB OTG cable would do the same...
You just literally "hacked" (like a lumberjack) this wifi. I see no sence of doing this.

dude, did you heard about OTG Cable ?
I have a original Wi-Pi dongle, for my RPi B (not B+!!!)
Sorry but just a waste of time.
Why not use a USB hub...everybody has one lying around....
i dont have one lying around.
+Donald Badeaux I find USB hubs don't seem to want to work with the Rpi0, even powered hubs don't want to do anything.
cool
You did not hack the Zero, you just hacked a micro USB cable and a adapter....
+viperarc There's more to it than just hacking the cable...
not a hack. epic fail DISLIKED and UNSUBBED. what a joke to the "elite hacking" community.
lol like anyone cares if u unsubbed.. see ya. you will not be missed
Or get an OTG Shim. It looks much better and is a lot cheaper and requires less work.
