I remember these first series figures when they came out at our Toys R Us Toronto location. Combat Belt Batman was my first buy and I wanted the Robin next, but he was NEVER there! So I bought Two-Face and Riddler during my next visits instead. I remember seeing Penguin there, but never wanted him! After my 5th or 6th try, the worker went to the back room and brought a Robin for me (and one for another kid my age who was looking for one) and I was over the moon! I remember it like it was yesterday!
Next to Bob Ross, batman the animated series was the cartoon that changed my painting style. I loved this cartoon. Glad I still have the trading cards.
When i was in the collectibles fair circuit, pretty much every vendor had a literal ton of Batman, Star trek and POTF2 stuff they were selling for only a few dollars
Cambat belt Batman was my first Animated Series figure AND was the very first figure I really took care of. My dad took me to Ames so I could pick out a figure for my 9th birthday and from then on, I stuck with that and treated all my figures like gold. I don't what it was, but I'm glad it happened like that. To this day I still have all the accessories and he's in great shape. A year or two later my mom got me the AS Batmobile, which was out of character for her, because she typically doesn't give cool gifts. :) hahah! Thanks for the video 🦇
I loved the Batman The Animated Series but I never got into collecting the figures. I was buying video games with my spare money around that time. I remember seeing the figures in stores and being tempted to buy some of them. They are great looking figures.

I'd take a Dick for $20 in a heartbeat. Also really like the ninja Robin. It looks out of place that they used the Batman Returns Robin body mold for the AS Robin, but it's still a great figure. The early 90s were where it's at for great Batman toys. The Dark Knight Collection/ Batman Returns and The Animated Series? Shit, son! 🦇 If I didn't collect SW, I would be collecting Batman for sure. 🦇
I used to have 3 pieces mint on card combat belt batman back in 2007. I have since either gave them away or thrown them away due to lack of spaces. Kinda miss them now...
I remember thinking that Kenner was going to do Darth Vader like they did Batman, when the 1995 Star Wars line was first announced. Fortunately they kept things mostly movie accurate.

But Penguin looked like the Super Powers Penguin, only in black. Nothing like Danny DeVito... A Max "Christopher Walken" figure would have been pretty badass too. The reason Hagen called himself clayface was because of a production he starred in that went by the same name in the comics he sees that someone took his roll of clayface which made him mad to the point where he was killing everybody in the production one by one making all of them look like accidents until the Batman showed up. Too many Batman villains have the same reason of being made black mask had a scuffle with Batman and got the mask singed (or however you spell it) to his face when it came to joker he fell into a vat of chemicals due to a old metal bar collapsing the railing (depending on which one you read) after having a scuffle with Batman even Firefly there is one too many villains that share the same reason they look like what they look like after a scuffle with Batman.
The penguin was popular and was hard to find. Did they have a penguin toy that was recalled and stopped production due to the missile firing umbrella ??
Don't open that Batman figure with the misprinted card that says Bane. Those are worth more than the ones that are done correctly because it's a factory mistake and those are rare.
I'm from Uruguay, i have the complete collection sealed and i pay for each villain and Robin U$S 30 but for the Combat Belt Batman U$S 300... it's most expenssive than the Gentle Giant 1/6 scale Combat Belt Batman figure, (I have too).

Mr. Freeze is one of the better figures in that series because his accessories make sense. The multitude of Batman figures, IMO, was something of a cash grab because they could reuse the base mold to make the costume-of-the-day Batman figures. When you check the current asking prices for the figures in your collection that you have had for 20 years, don't forget to run those numbers through an inflation calculator. I prefer index funds for my investment plans.
Man I never really collected the line although I actually have all four seasons of BTAS. but I did have L.O.B (Legend Of Batman action figure) I gave some figures away and bought one which was Crusader Batman (the one I previous gave away) but I still have my Batmobile from that line.
It was such a great series and collecting the series was all about collecting for the fun of it. If collecting for profits, shame on you. They made too many for scarcity. Enjoy you collection and you will get great value.

That Adventures of Batman and Robin figure of Harley Quinn is her first ever figure. That adds to the coolness of that one.
It is also well done. The face and body are on model with the animation character design.
Remember when Superman Clark Kent dressed up in the Batman suit he beat up Bane. On a episode they should have made that action figure
