Do you need to put a SIM card in for Internet or can you use the Internet off a mobile device?

It didn't work on same screen for me, it just take 25% of the screen

hey I brought this device and it dont work in my 2021 bmw m440 . I was able to connect to carplay one time . Very bad customer service and they will not give me a refund
