Perry, Sir, Culnivar's Claim till you equip Devotion at level 71? As always, while I watch your LE streams under another nic, I appreciate your enthusiasm for LE, your build commentaries and build videos. Thank you for taking the time and effort to create these instructive builds for the LE community. You, Sir, are a definite asset to the LE coomunity!
Culnivar's is pretty good, but it's nothing special. I would just use the biggest wand that you have available until you can equip the Crystal Wand with a mana implicit.
hey perry this build remain the same in 1.0?? already playing it, crazy fun just wanted to know if there is like a BiS planner so i can chase some GG unique crafts and stuff 🔥🔥🔥
I'm trying this out now. Why not go without the minus mana on the rings, allow your hammers to be your mana drain, and then use mana starved forging to keep mana at zero but still be able to cast?
Yo Perry! Recently dropped Bastion with a unique shrine drop (first one ever!), so decided to go back and try some builds that used it. I know it isn't necessary, but it feels nice to actually be able to say, oh hey I have that now! Wild build man, definitely the most damage and most tanky build I've played in a hot minute, and fun too. That said, I am a chronic re-speccer, so I was wondering if you could sub in other blessings and still be competitive? The main one I am thinking that would better translate to other paladin builds would be Age of Winter Grand Bulwark for the Armor % over the block effectiveness? Just trying to formulate some blessing combinations that translate to other builds more or less so I don't have to re-farm every blessing. Thanks!
if you're using Bastion, then the block effect blessing is nuts. However, if you're already a sentinel, you can *(kinda* get away without it because of all the access you already have to Block Effect in your mastery. Even then, I would really try to keep it, if possible
@@PerrythePig thanks for the reply Mr. Pig. That makes sense, I will stick with it and can agree, as I got it this afternoon, along with a 2 LP Stormcarved (my first one of that as well)!
@@TheRuiner66 What mods? And why won't it work without them? I'm playing it fine with the mana cost being 2. Fastest I've ever leveled. If I'm lucky to come across the T7 throw mods cool, but doesn't seem mandatory.
@@b2rad You need -9 mana cost for throwing attacks, so t7 and t6 mod found only on rings. So you need 2 exalted rings to get the mana cost of hammer throw to 0
Would this build still be built the same on the current patch? Any major changes I should know about if I'm looking to try and make it work? Thanks for the content! :)
One more question, do you think the build would be playable with two -4 mana cost rings instead of one being -5? I can't for the life of me find a t7 ring with that mod on it. What is generally the fastest way to get exalted rings in hopes of finding one? Thanks again!
Wait, did you edit your question? I answered like this: "That "zero mana when empty" is behind Enra's Technique. Go read that node real quick. Fastest way to find rings? I'd vote for any of the dungeons, they tend to be good for finding random exalted stuff. Especially Temporal Sanctum."
Okay two questions: 1 - If we don't have -9 mana cost on rings, should we just not bother? Or can we drop some points in the hammer throw tree that raise the cost? 2 - Can you expand on what you meant when you were talking about endurance threshold and magic number of 3100 or whatever? I feel like there must have been a discussion about it in another video that I missed. Otherwise, cool video. Totally want to try it out once I can get a second exalted throwing ring.
To answer #1, I have a -3 and -4 ring and it works just fine if you leave off one point in Catapult. Once I get a -5 I can put that point into Catapult for a little better QoL.
@@dbrowdy Any tips on how to farm the rings? I can't think of anything except maybe Stolen Lance blessing for ring drop rate and farming dungeon. Probably the best way is to check daily for new floor 1 bonus in the dungeon and go hard when there is ring bonus. Also, I don't think that dropping 1 point in Catapult is worth it. The 0 mana cost is probably just convenience of being able to have Holy Aura + Sigils on auto-cast and the +4 projectiles seems pretty strong. By manually casting the spells and keeping your mana above 0, you can achieve fairly similar results without the rings.
@@prozajik428 I'm just running monos looking for purple ring nodes. If I find one, I'll use the nodes to reset and run it multiple times. Not the best plan, but whatever. It's working now with one ring at least. I definitely wouldn't recommend trying to do it manually. One thing you don't ever want is to be sitting there OOM before you can throw a hammer. And if your mana isn't all the way gone, your damage will be really weak. No, IMO you're much better off dropping a point in catapult than trying to do it manually. FWIW, I've been playing with it like that and it works fine. Still not sure if I like this over the VK version tho.
@@dbrowdy His particular take on it is that hammer costs 0. HAMMER DOES NOT NEED TO COST 0. Pyro and I have both played hammerdin to over 1000+ corruption. I know he says "you need - 4 and - 5 mana on rings" but you really don't. Just stop holding down sigil and you'll be fine. The ability to go into negative mana is a nice bonus and it sounds cute, but it's really not necessary. My take is that - mana cost for throwing is pretty much -the- best affix to seal since it's full function at t1. Going for exalted - mana means you give up the opportunity to have exalted throwing attack speed rings, so you lose a large amount of damage and smoothness for this. Stonecarved is good but it's going to be worse than an exalted +3/+4 smite relic overall, due to the ability to put frailty/sigils lv/etc. on the smite relic and smite scaling extremely well with levels. Having frailty on relic also allows you to use ravenous void on gloves (giving up an amulet LP for that is a huge damage loss), or if you're using rares, getting hybrid + armor shred as prefixes. You can even seal frailty on relic if you have a lot of extra FP lying around. Personally, I merged my +4 smite relic with a legendary Ucenui's, which changed my stat prioritization around. Stonecarved is fine but without LP smite levels it's just a decent starter. And it is quite annoying to farm for +1, and definitely +2, LP on - and then 25% chance to hit your very rare +4 smite idol? No thanks lol. Overall I like perry's take on the build. Most things make sense, minor tweaks. This - mana thing though is an unnecessarily high barrier to entry - t7s are not common. Much more common now with sanctum, but still not easy to get. You can get this build breezing through 300 corruption with not a single exalted or legendary gear. And with GG gear, >1000 corruption.
The Lunge spec is worth considering, but Lunge does so little compared to Volatile. Volatile gives us "enemies take 60% inc damage", gives us movement speed, 30% attack speed, and lots of mobility during Beacons, Gates, and Arena. Lunge gives you... clear speed, I suppose? And this build hardly needs more clear.
I tried the void version and wasn't entirely happy with it so I wanna try this one mainly because it has so many items that synergize with lightning spells.
@@rinleez I actually have both versions around level 50 and I got the same feeling. The void version just felt less consistent I guess? Which doesn't make much sense, since its the same mechanic. But, I also think that the lightning version has higher ceiling thanks to the devotion, so I am definitely leaning more towards the lightning version.
Among all the small differences, one big difference you'll feel is the lightning conversion. Beyond the Conversion nodes in Smite are the "extra lightning bolt" nodes, which make clear feel really, really good. It's basically shotgunnning, as far as clear is concerned. For single target, guzzle your mana down to zero and one-phase the bosses.
@@PerrythePig Oh that makes sense, completely overlooked the the lightning bolts. Yea definitely going to push the lightning version then, thanks for the answer!
Totally. But remember, shock caps at 20 stacks, and this build hits very quickly, so the boots are really only there for the Shock Effect -- which is still a great addition.
Thanks for posting this. One bit of feedback is that you really need a written version. To constantly refer to a video is cumbersome and the build tool doesn't answer all questions.
I try to use the Chapters feature of YT to account for this, so that it's easier to refer to. Is there an example of something you'd want to see more of, if you were returning to this video to check something?
I have a video about making your own loot filter! I find this to be a better strategy than just copy/pasting someone else's filter: ruclips.net/video/bSjK7wjWXpU/видео.html

"Mana Starved Forging" has a node before it called "Enra's Technique". Give it a quick read -- that's pretty much the rationale.
Is void knight variant good for hammerdin? Or is pally just better?
