To answer some of your questions: Yes, its safe for work. It's cheeky but wholesome. Yes, it's more of a bubbly happy slice of life series. And yes, it's definatly worth a watch. And finally, yes the cast sings the ED's of this show
Some of the animation they used in the second season is actually based on the storyboards made by Yasuhiro Takemoto, who is credited as the "Series Director". He unfortunately passed away in the Arson that happened. He was also the Director of Season 1 of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Season 2 and the Movie, and Full Metal Panic Fumofuu and Full Metal Panic The Second Raid. He was also responsible for Key Animation, Storyboards, and Episode Director duties on many other anime, including K-ON!, Clannad, Sound Euphonium, Lucky Star, Nichijou, and Violet Evergarden, to name a few. Some of my favorite Anime passed through his hands.
@@jdoggivjc it absolutely is. It was one of the first anime they released after the Arson, and showed that even through the loss of life and progress, that they had the strength and ability to push through and still release amazing works. They're one of my most respected animation studios for a reason!
Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is a super bouncy and lighthearted slice of life anime that revolves around Kobayashi, a human, and Tooru, a dragon that decided to be her maid. It has a lot of comedy and wholesome moments, but also sometimes whips out absolutely stellar action for no reason. Some of the coolest anime fights I've ever seen came from this show. I highly recommend it. It's a lot more SFW than Konosuba, so if that was fine this definitely would be.
Well this series IS Seinen which means is for older male audience, and it only needs one look at character design to know that this series has some naughty stuff.
You pretty much get exactly what it says on the tin. The main character is Miss Kobayashi, and it's about her life and shenanigans with her Maid, who's a Dragon, and their friends and acquaintances. Edit: The first ending is indeed sung by the cast. I'm not sure about the 2nd one, but probably! This actually isn't super uncommon in anime. Quite a few anime have their casts also sing the Openings or Endings. It's not quite as common as it used to be, but these trends always go in waves.
@@GOTGames U might wanna react to an ending of 'Rascal does not dream of bunny girl senpai' iirc. It's also sung by cast and is very beautiful imo. Opening is also cool, soooooo
Yes, the EDs are performed by the cast. They also did covers of the OPs, and they have music videos for OP 1 and ED 2 where they cosplay as their characters. The original fhána music videos for the OPs are also pretty fun. Some of the dancing animation in OP 2 is based on the original music video.
I was going to say the new anime on Saturday would be Tanya of saga the evil or Madoka but I saw someone say what it was and I'm still very excited for that reaction! Maybe we get one of these 2 right after!? 👀
Madoka could fit right up there as well due to it being a bit heavy with copyright, like when Luke reacted to the ed and op he had to skip the audio for the ed due to it being blocked worldwide
This is a truly wholesome anime. Apart from certain animations in which KyoAni lost his mind and decided to spend the budget of 2 whole seasons for 3 minutes of fight-scene (warning: I'm not complaining, they are amazing lol) the rest doesn't particularly stand out. Nevertheless he absolutely deserves to be watched
Welcome to the world of "Slice of Life" anime. Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid leans more toward the Comedy side of Slice of Life, but still has strong Slice of Life elements. The general point behind the Slice of Life genre is to either portray normal people doing normal things or (for comedy) take otherwise fantastical people and portray them doing normal things (in this case: "what if a fearsome dragon decided to become a generic office worker's live-in maid?" There are many sub-genres to the Slice of Life genre, including but not limited to: "Cute Girls Doing Cute Things" (exactly what it says on the tin), "Adults in Interesting Jobs Do Their Interesting Jobs Well" (e.g. the production assistant for a small anime studio, or a museum curator, or a train engineer, etc.), Iyashikei "Healing Anime" (anime intended to "soothe" working adult viewers, often featuring optimistic portrayals of family or working adult life), Cooking anime (less like Shokugeki no Soma and more like Sweetness and Lightning), etc. The average anime fan when nothing exciting happens in an episode: "This was bull$#!*. What a waste of an episode!" The average Slice of Life fan when nothing exciting happens in an episode: "This was great. What a wonderful episode!"
@@Kaylakaze or a mix of almost all of them with that Senko-San anime. It's a cute girl doing a cute thing well, which happens to be her interesting job, which is taking care of an office worker, because she's a Fox God, all wrapped in a nice Iyashikei style wrapper.
@@mrmxypltk Iyashikei is the core of Senko-san, not the wrapper. The manga was created when Rimukoro-sensei went "man, I'm miserable, I wish I had a no jya lolibaba kitsune to take care of me... WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE'S NO SERIES LIKE THAT?! I'll do it myself, then!".
The moment he's introduced to Lucoa: "Yep, this is proper anime." The original artist has two modes for female characters: cutting boards and beach balls. The beach balls may make it a bit iffy sometimes on RUclips, but nothing bad enough to cause problems on Twitch. And neither take away from the pure innocent joy packed into every minute of this show. Truly medicine for the heart.
The first OP and ED just tears me up every time I hear them, because of the tragedy that struck Kyoto Animation. RIP to all the staff that succumbed to the arson attack in 2019. The 2nd set of songs also makes me cry, for a different reason, cause it marked the comeback for them in the TV anime scene.
Dragon Maid is part of the anime genre known as slice of life. There is no real "plot" and you just follow the characters on their daily life shenanigens. It is indeed wholesome and fun 🙂
I love this anime, it's a slice of life with the occasional epic moment and the occasional cheeky moment, but it's SFW. It's really about friendships and building a family, more than anything else, sprinkled with the madness of interacting with magical creatures. You'll really have a hard time at watching a single episode without smiling or chuckling.
They had a live a live action music video with all the voice actors from the show dressed up as the characters where voice acting and they were singing the songs from the show !!!
I absolutely love all the DragonMaid music, from it's themes to it's backing music during the episodes. It's just so uplifting and upbeat and FUN! The anime is also super fun and wholesome (for the most part). Definitely one of my favourite slice of life of all time
Also, the second ending has a live action version! All the VAs dressed up like their characters and it's the most wholesome thing ever! ruclips.net/video/J6_8EYrgk2Y/видео.html
You should react to the MV of the voice actors singing and dancing. You'll get to appreciate their efforts of not just being inside the studio recording their voices. Highly recommend it!
"All 4 of them have left me with a smile all the way through" yep that's the general vibe you will get with this show from start to finish, it has the occasional more serious moments but overall is super fun and chill, one of my personal favorites.
oh! Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid! I will usually turn to chipper slice of life shows when my mood is down, because like... idk, it kind of forces you to see even little and mundane things a bit brighter? and this one really did it for me the last time I was in a funk, but it's been a long time. I will say, the cheeky stuff is almost sometimes a bit jarring for me... kinda took me out of it in some places, but if Konosuba was fine, this will probably be fine. I think my favorite character in the whole cast was Miss Kobayashi herself. all the other chaaracters are funny and cute, but the main character carried it for me. tbh, watching this show feels like fresh air and sunshine. which is important for a 3rd shift worker who can't see that as often.🥲 anyway, just real quick mentioning Dorohedoro again, and the Golden Kamuy endings if you're interested!
"I will say, the cheeky stuff is almost sometimes a bit jarring for me... kinda took me out of it in some places" It's a Coolkyousinnjya series, there is going to be huge boobs. There's literally a paizuri themed eromanga set in the same universe and it's been ongoing just as long as Maidragon has.
@@BloodrealmX ah, yeah, I didn't really know anything about the show's pedigree going in... like, I saw big boob dragon lady in the OP, so I wasn't blindsided too much by just the existence of that... it's just that I mostly like the slice of life moments, so when the show goes full horny, I'm usually just kinda waiting to get back to the cute stuff.
@@kamuyking551 That's fair. The anime tones it down from the manga, too, and after where the anime has left off we get more of the drama topics that you get a taste of in Season 2 (there's a whole story arc around Kanna and her father that starts up at that point, and a while later there's one about Elma), so I guess it doesn't feel as strange to me when it isn't purely the iyashikei stuff. Cool-sensei seems to basically cater to himself as the primary audience so all of his works have at least a bit of variety within them.
@@BloodrealmX yeah, and don't get me wrong, I'm not really begrudging the series for having those elements. I don't really hold it against the series or anything, it's just also hard to tell how a first time viewer would feel about it from an outside perspective. ^^;
So glad this pop-up in my recommendations. Yes, the endings are sing by the cast and there are videos of the cast singing while cosplaying their characters, you should check that out!
strangely enough, this is one of those anime that makes me realize how sad I am when anime reaction channels don't watch the OP/ED every episode. like, even if the part where the person is watching the OP gets cut from the video, I think I'd prefer to know that they did watch it every episode, because to me, it's part of the way this art piece is intended to be presented. the OP and ED are supposed to ease you into the tone that the episode is gonna spend time in... they're like a buffer space between reality and the way the show is going to be. and especially for an anime that wants to present this super marshmallowy view of things... it can be kind of jarring to jump straight in. and the ED is for the episode to sort of wave goodbye and lead you on out. I only ever skip an OP or ED if I can't stand it, or if it actually really clashes for some reason. plus, when you watch the same OP each episode, it gives you time to notice all the little things about it. some of the animation cuts are really impressive, but they go by pretty quickly... and if the studio ever decides to throw in a change to the OP or ED at a plot-significant moment in the story, it completely fails to impact you if you're just always skipping that part. like in the case of something like Chainsaw Man, or Dorohedoro, the EDs will change, and have something to do with the episode's actual content. actually, the biggest example I can think of is Ranking of Kings OP 2. that one has so much symbolism in it, and every time you watch an episode, you get to apply that symbolism to what you're seeing, and it means something a little bit more or different. and that progressing recontextualization can sometimes be huge... the whole last portion of the OP is a POV shot from a particular character. before you know who it is, you can assume that it belongs to other characters, and it's very touching each time. _after_ you know who it is, the meaning changes completely, and the OP makes you cry twice as hard from then on. comparing how this functions in context, vs. how it doesn't work at all when taken out of context... idk, Ranking of Kings is almost upsettingly well crafted sometimes. obviously do what you gotta do, but there's my little rant for what it's worth.
The same goes for Angel Beats. The OP and ED both change slightly during the series, to coincide with events in the series itself. Skipping them when watching feels wrong. I get that it has to be done sometimes for copyright strike reasons, but I'd rather the streamer just mutes it so the stream can't hear it and they can, just so they get the proper experience.
@@mrmxypltk exactly... or if it's a video that'll be on youtube later, just cutting out the clip is fine since it isn't a reaction to new content. and this also helps prevent missing things, like after credits scenes. in Dorohedoro, they have these cool little end cards where you get a list of new facts that you learned during the episode, narrated by the main character. and it can be kind of funny, because sometimes the stuff he'll highlight is nowhere near the most important stuff that happened that episode, but it's very in character for him. it's just cute, but it happens after the credits. or like the Juju Stroll segments in Jujutsu Kaisen, which he's watching now. I know people have told him to not miss them, and he knows... and I'm not trying to like, complain at him. he'll do whatever he's gonna and that's legitimately fine. this is just like... one more point in favor of watching end credits.
@@dormir2072 also like the ending recaps in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, where Haruhi says the next episode number, and Kyon usually corrects her. Except they're both right, because one is the Aired order, and one is the Chronological order, as the series was intentionally aired out of order.
I would thoroughly recommend the anime for a viewing to anyone. Yes, really good fun - some genuinely fun episodes and laffs in all of them (literally made me laugh out loud more than any anime I can recall), though there's the odd episode with some moving moments. I'm always sad though when I remember what happened to the studio (Kyoto Animation aka KyoAni) after the first season was made - so sad to recall that many of the people involved in the first series lost their lives in such a horrific way, RIP them all.
At first glance you get a happy light hearted anime about cute dragons. But it also has valuable life lessons about adulthood. I really love this anime. It's beautiful to it's core.
This anime is incredibly charming. Basically it’s just about the idea of finding people who will accept you for who you are, taken to the extreme, Lesbian romance between an ordinary office worker and Dragon princess who didn’t fell accepted in her own word.and of course their adopted dragon daughter. Super cute and wholesome. Though yeah the big Tiddy blonde and her young boy companion is a little Sus even if it’s just played for laughs. This was the anime KyoAni was in mid production during their Tragic Arson attack a few years back, the director of the first season as well as the first few episodes of season 2 was among the victims, so the second season was finished by another studio veteran and dear friend.
this anime is an excellent "palette cleanser" anime for me. when im going through a tough time or i watched a really depressing show or something this show is a good one for me to get out of my head and just smile for a bit. i highly recommend this one, and of course the OP's and ED's are bangers
Honestly? While it isnt always 100% happy go lucky and there are serious moments, the op and endings absolutely represent the Anime. Its a fun romp about an overworked office worker and the shenanigans she gets up to with her dragon family and friends. Ehhhh, probably pushing the edges, but it is technically safe for work in the same way that something like Friends is.
this was my second ever anime, and it holds a super special place in my heart. it’s so wholesome and happy it makes my day every time i rewatch it. it’s my feel good anime 100%
It is an amazing anime, great comedy, great characters, great vibes and just overall fun, a bit cheeky for sure Also, gotta love that reaction to Lucoa and Ilulu haha, we all been there 😁
VAs singing the OPs and EDs is actually rather common due to the connection between the anime and music industry in Japan. Lyrical Nanoha (which I'd recommenced giving a listen to) actually exclusively did this across all six opening and endings of its five season run.
The 2nd OP has alot of referances in the lyrucs about overcoming tragedy and getting back to living life. But also when torhru fliats from heaven back to earth it represents the ones who died coming from heaven. Especially the 1st season director who died in the kyoani fire. Cause they create magic with anime
This anime is pretty much how it looks. It really is light and funny and just cute AF. It's a good anime to watch if you feeling down. It'll be sure to cheer you up!
There's actually quite a few anime shows that have the cast sing OP or ED , sometimes for cost saving measures or sometimes for having more in-character personalized lyrics/themes
Yeeeahhhhhh lesgooooooo finally!!!!!! Thanks to whoever tell him to react to this ones, really thanks dudes!!! Now please, tell him to react to the "Darker than black" specially the ending of the OVA's pleaseee
Fhana has such a fantastic voice. It has a quality to it that I don't have the words to describe that just makes me happy. The show itself is one of my favourite feel good animes and I re-watch it regularly when I feel the need for a boost in happiness. Also, if you think the OP/ED animations are trippy in this show, I would like you to watch a SHAFT studio OP/ED, Sayonara Setsubou Sensei might be a good place to start.
It is fun and hillarious!! The type of shows you watch after having a bad day. Season 1 awarded with best comedy anime in 2017 so that’s that. Also you can’t go wrong with Kyoto animation studio
Underrated opinion here. I often use both of the openings for my playlist. You should check the full version MV via the Artist's channel. It's fun to watch. Fyi, that boobs is not just boobs. It's a dragon breath storage. :)))
No, no, Kobayashi is just really fun. I think that singing lessons are typically part of training for voice actors in japan, so it's not rare to have them sing in openings/endings and in the shows. You'll love YOASOBI「アイドル」- it is a song that played at the end of the first episode of Oshi no ko, which you probably hear for the first time now, because I'm pretty sure the first episode dropped less than 24 hours ago. That show lives up to it's amazing manga and the first episode has like 5 twists, it will be a massive roller coaster ride for you. Sidenote: you learning japanese through anime shows how far you have come. "daisuki" is indeed "I love you" (well, technically it's "(to) love", but in this context it fits)
The female vocalist on both of the openings (done by the band fhana) is Towana. In the second opening she's joined by Kevin Mitsunaga. They're not humans who can turn into dragons, they're dragons who can turn into humans. And the maid is a dragon. Kobayashi-san is the human she lives with and works for. "Did the cast sing this?" Yes, both of the endings are sung by the voice actors of the female dragons in the series.
Short comment since my keyboard is broken, this is my favorite non-super serious anime. It's ultra light like some romance or slice of life animes where nothing happens but the plot and characters change and evolve at very good pacing, the action is insanely going, the anime is fun, and it's extremely wholesome and heartwarming. There is no way a sane human being could ever be bored or dislike the anime
Cool Kyoushinsha has a type and you can tell what it is. But beyond character design, they really like examining the psychology and philosophy of human connections in every work they do.
i think the suggestions came so suddenly because the second opening was in one of the compilation videos you recently reacted to (i think it was best ops of 2021) daisuki means i love you, yes. i think it's one of the more innocent versions used with family and close friends. (there's also aishiteru, which i think is used exclusively for romantic partners) dragon maid really is a cute sweet story. there are a few awkward fanservice moments that make me wonder what the creator was thinking adding those scenes, but the overwhelming majority is just a found family slice of life show.
The reason the second opening sounds familiar is probably because it showed up in your recently reviewed "Top 50 Anime Openings of 2021" video. That might have something to do with everyone recommending the openings/endings/series to you. Just also going to support what most everyone else is saying and point out that the anime is a very cozy, enjoyable story about found family.
Wholesome and heartwarming anime. Openings perform by fhana and Endings perform by their Voice Acting. fhana the most singer I like, their song always great and touched my heart. For voice acting they ussually sing a opening or ending anime song too.
I love this anime. I hope you see it someday. It is truly 85% happy and fun. It does get a little serious here and there, but nothing to dark. This anime is safe for work. There are some clothed giggly bits, but nothing that needs to be censored as far as I remember.
Congrats on starting to pick up vocab! That's actually one of the other fun things from anime. It's pretty cool when you can literally pick up some bits of phrases of another language. But yeah dragon maid is just wholesome vibes (and cheek) but you need the wholesome vibes sometimes you know? And bounce :P
This one actually is a fun nice anime. There is a lot of "plot" in this anime, and by "plot' we mean those 2 characters with back/shoulder issues. A lot of calm moments, but does have surprisingly good action scenes.
This anime is a really wholesome, a slide of life comedy that will hit you with feelings when you less expecte it, even when having a comedy scene if you think about the reason they act that way it hits your chest. Not exactly in a sad way, sometimes its just really warm, but when you think of the dragon maid's future without the human she fell in love with... it is sad...
It is a very happy slice of life anime. But it also has some really well handled introspective moments that are actually the biggest selling point in my personal opinion.
Ilulu/Iruru (the short girl with pink hair) is that massive because she hasn't fully mastered the whole "taking human form" thing, so certain parts of her remain dragon-like. For example, there was a whole scene dedicated to her trying to turn her claws into hands and failing.
underrated suggestion that's off the radar, but the schwarzesmarken openings and the one video game opening, they go so hard and its made by fripside who made the railgun openings
Dragon maid especially s1 is an amazing anime- great animation and some great humor- great characters and often moving.. Mr Kobayashi is a very atypical MC
this is such a wholesome show! just watch the first 2 episodes and you'll know how the rest is gonna play. it's funny, it's sad, it's exciting and even when it's a little sexy it's always for laughs and never done in a poor way. you should check it out!
It is a very fun happy anime. If you want to feel happy and chill, this is the one to go for. The studio goes sometimes insane and will go ALL IN on some scenes. Does the most high budget super animations for a short scene. It is similar with the "cheekiness" like the Slime anime. Maybe a bit less in visuals but more direct in dialog. The dragon wants her master and voices her desire. But there are no direct scenes that show anything problematic.
You really ought to check out the music videos of the full length of both openings. The videos have amazing choreography and seem to be shot in super long cuts, super cool
For this one I highly recommend checking out the music videos for the OPs too, especially the second one - a lot of fun. Well, pretty much everything related to this series ia a lot of fun. So don't worry, no shocking twists here! There's some action (with amazing animation because Kyoto Animation can't help but flex) but nothing too dramatic. Two seasons of wholesome goodness that is mostly safe for RUclips - there's a beach episode and S1's OVA is slightly risky too if I remember correctly, but nothing that a little blurring can't make RUclips-friendly.
Dragon maid is a fantastic anime made by the legendary Kyoto Animation. One of the best and most beloved anime studios out there. Many animators are underpaid and overworked but kyoani decided to do things differently. Normally animators are paid per frame animated. Kyoani pays their animators on salary and gives them frequent breaks and paid time off because they believe having happy animators their joy will be sent through the animation to the viewers. Season 2 of dragon maid was the first TV series they produced after an arsonist attacked their studio killing 36 employees and injuring 34 others. The entire country of Japan offered support and much of the world did too. People raised millions of dollars for them and a lawyer who offer to help completely free of charge was able to convince the Japanese government so that they had give 0% of the donation money raised as taxes wish is something no company has ever done in Japan and kyoani didn't use a single cent on recuperating losses like the entire studio that had to be demolished. They gave all of it to the employees and their families. Kyoani is people first, business second
Would you be down to do a react for all of the Japanese pokemon openings? Many (if not most) of them are sung by the cast. It would also be interesting to see you react to how much they change over the decades. Edit: I could put together a youtube playlist, excluding some of the alternate versions of some OPs with some tidbits of info on who is singing, what other things rolee they've played and OPs/EDs they've sung, etc.
the dragons basically a "Dragonoid" yes, endings sung by the casts the show is basically Dramas, but with a little hint of fantasies. It IS giving you a good mood vibes if you watch.
It's a Slice of Life comedy with a dash of romcom. And yes, there is a lot of um... "cheek". Anyway the trailer for season 2 is also worth reacting to because it is a rap done by the characters tat can't e found anywhere else.
So, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is a genre of anime known as Slice of Life. Not sure if it'd be your jam, but it tends to be cute, cosy, down to earth shows with some sort of fun gimmick or twist (in this case, dragons). The studio that made this show is Kyoto Animation, who make some of the best Slice of Life stories on the market. Their establishing shots are works of art, nearly without fail. Might I recommend the openings and endings of another great Kyoto Animation Slice of Life (and my personal favorite anime ever), Nichijou: My Ordinary Life
Dragon Maid is (mostly) pretty wholesome. There are some scenes that are... kind of questionable, but overall its just a really good feels anime. It's one of the better mainstream anime to watch if you don't want something super dark or stressful. Most of the time its just silly good feels fun...that can get taken a bit too far in the inappropriately lewd direction sometimes.

Welcome to the world of "Slice of Life" anime. Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid leans more toward the Comedy side of Slice of Life, but still has strong Slice of Life elements. The general point behind the Slice of Life genre is to either portray normal people doing normal things or (for comedy) take otherwise fantastical people and portray them doing normal things (in this case: "what if a fearsome dragon decided to become a generic office worker's live-in maid?"
There are many sub-genres to the Slice of Life genre, including but not limited to: "Cute Girls Doing Cute Things" (exactly what it says on the tin), "Adults in Interesting Jobs Do Their Interesting Jobs Well" (e.g. the production assistant for a small anime studio, or a museum curator, or a train engineer, etc.), Iyashikei "Healing Anime" (anime intended to "soothe" working adult viewers, often featuring optimistic portrayals of family or working adult life), Cooking anime (less like Shokugeki no Soma and more like Sweetness and Lightning), etc.
The average anime fan when nothing exciting happens in an episode: "This was bull$#!*. What a waste of an episode!"
The average Slice of Life fan when nothing exciting happens in an episode: "This was great. What a wonderful episode!"
What's great is when you have both CGDCT and "interesting job" in the same anime (New Game)
😂 love that!
The moment he's introduced to Lucoa: "Yep, this is proper anime."
The original artist has two modes for female characters: cutting boards and beach balls. The beach balls may make it a bit iffy sometimes on RUclips, but nothing bad enough to cause problems on Twitch. And neither take away from the pure innocent joy packed into every minute of this show. Truly medicine for the heart.
Dragon Maid is a very light-hearted, slice of life anime with good comedy.
Quite cozy and relaxing, best enjoyed with comfort food of choice.
It's a feel-good kind of anime, yes. Very horny, but also really wholesome, would definitely love to see it as a twitch watch-along at some point
I feel like this one would be perfect for a twitch Watch-Along
The first OP and ED just tears me up every time I hear them, because of the tragedy that struck Kyoto Animation. RIP to all the staff that succumbed to the arson attack in 2019. The 2nd set of songs also makes me cry, for a different reason, cause it marked the comeback for them in the TV anime scene.
I highly recommend K-On! series as the cast are extremely funny, adorable, and dorky and lovable, they sing the opening and ending songs as well.
It’s an adorable anime about an office worker and her found family of dragons. A little cheeky, but still Twitch-friendly.
Dragon Maid is part of the anime genre known as slice of life. There is no real "plot" and you just follow the characters on their daily life shenanigens.
It is indeed wholesome and fun 🙂
Yeah, the endings are sang by the cast, and both of the openings also have their versions singed by the cast.
I love this anime, it's a slice of life with the occasional epic moment and the occasional cheeky moment, but it's SFW.
It's really about friendships and building a family, more than anything else, sprinkled with the madness of interacting with magical creatures. You'll really have a hard time at watching a single episode without smiling or chuckling.
can't wait to see this, it gets a bit sus sometimes but it has to be one of the best slice of life-type animes
This is show is such a complete VIBE a total kick back and chill show. I sometimes watch it after a bad day to perk myself up tbh
It's basically a very wholesome Anime about a group of people becoming a family. It just so happens that some of them are Dragons from another world.
second opening so emotional to watch as it was the first anime the studio did after the arson attack that killed some of their staff
Sweetness and lightning is a must watch for you.
I think my favorite character in the whole cast was Miss Kobayashi herself. all the other chaaracters are funny and cute, but the main character carried it for me. tbh, watching this show feels like fresh air and sunshine. which is important for a 3rd shift worker who can't see that as often.🥲
anyway, just real quick mentioning Dorohedoro again, and the Golden Kamuy endings if you're interested!
@@BloodrealmX yeah, and don't get me wrong, I'm not really begrudging the series for having those elements. I don't really hold it against the series or anything, it's just also hard to tell how a first time viewer would feel about it from an outside perspective. ^^;
So glad this pop-up in my recommendations. Yes, the endings are sing by the cast and there are videos of the cast singing while cosplaying their characters, you should check that out!
For a complete tone change, I recommend the opening and ending to ID:Invaded
strangely enough, this is one of those anime that makes me realize how sad I am when anime reaction channels don't watch the OP/ED every episode. like, even if the part where the person is watching the OP gets cut from the video, I think I'd prefer to know that they did watch it every episode, because to me, it's part of the way this art piece is intended to be presented. the OP and ED are supposed to ease you into the tone that the episode is gonna spend time in... they're like a buffer space between reality and the way the show is going to be. and especially for an anime that wants to present this super marshmallowy view of things... it can be kind of jarring to jump straight in. and the ED is for the episode to sort of wave goodbye and lead you on out.
Mixed ups and downs. So you have happy and sad moments with this one.
Yes, it is just a very fun, happy, wholesome show and one of my favorites to rewatch when I'm sick and need something to cheer me up.
finally, I was waiting for this reaction, dragon maid is incredible, wholesome and funny, and the ops 10/10
10/10 show. Great Slice of Life/Reverse Isekai and love the dub.
The girl with glasses is Miss Kobayashi and the dragon girl becomes her maid.
Now We need "The idaten deities know only peace" op
Also Peachboy Riverside
Idaten Deities has such a great and unique opening. Visuals are very unique and the song is quite good.
Nice, I requested this a few days ago. I'm glad people voted for it, I really like the songs.
It is an amazing anime, great comedy, great characters, great vibes and just overall fun, a bit cheeky for sure
Also, gotta love that reaction to Lucoa and Ilulu haha, we all been there 😁
lol its so funny every time you got caught off-guard with the green-haired dragon acting sus around the smol child.
MAIDRAGON is a so nice anime. It's heart-warming and funny.
It’s funny and wholesome in some bits, wild action on occasion, with Slice of Life stitching it all together. Surprisingly romantic
It's not humans that turn into dragons, its dragons that can take on human form
This anime is such a silly, happy go lucky thing. Its my go to thing if I´m feeling down. It always brings a smile to my face.
When you asked if the cast actualy sund the EDs it made me remember "Assassination Classroom". That animes OPs are sung by the cast. A good show
Short comment since my keyboard is broken, this is my favorite non-super serious anime.
Tbh this anime is my cozy/comfort place, i dont know why it just is, its amazing if anyone hasnt seen it, do it!
i think the suggestions came so suddenly because the second opening was in one of the compilation videos you recently reacted to (i think it was best ops of 2021)
daisuki means i love you, yes. i think it's one of the more innocent versions used with family and close friends. (there's also aishiteru, which i think is used exclusively for romantic partners)
dragon maid really is a cute sweet story. there are a few awkward fanservice moments that make me wonder what the creator was thinking adding those scenes, but the overwhelming majority is just a found family slice of life show.
It is SFW, it is very good vibe anime as well and they also throw some serious moments with message about humanity, coexistence, and bonds.
Man, I love this anime so much. It just warms my heart everytime I watch it.
The seasons of Dragon Maid really was a nice slice of life fantasy vibe... I Need to clear a weekend to rewatch it some time XD
Comfy wholesome anime, happy feelings all the way. Yes the animation is cheeky a lot of times, but it's actually super fun and light.
I love the second opening to pieces. It was nice seeing you react to it.
The vibe is basically what you get. It's what you see on the tin.
7:35 On the contrary, its actually pretty common for casts to sing their op/ed, especially in cutesy slice-of-lifes or "healing anime"
Its about a dragon become a maid
Kobayashi is peak Comedy, peak Wholesome, and even peak Action.
And the girl whose 95% boobs is 100% for a Dragon related reason
You really ought to check out the music videos of the full length of both openings. The videos have amazing choreography and seem to be shot in super long cuts, super cool
Yes!
Watching Kobayashi sound like an amazing idea!
It's a feel-good-show and I admire Kobayashi how she's handling her weird new life.
Lucoa is a trip. I think you'll enjoy her character.
Its absolutely fun and cheery. A feel good anime definitely.
Oh my god, the openings make me remember those days when I watched this show, I loved it😩😫
Dragon maid is a fantastic anime made by the legendary Kyoto Animation.
One of the best animes and music of all time for real
Such a feel-good anime. What's funny is that when it decides to add some action, it goes hard.
the dragons basically a "Dragonoid"
yes, endings sung by the casts
the show is basically Dramas, but with a little hint of fantasies.
