It actually works. I used it around 5 year ago.Its dangerous if you touch the water (shock) after connection to power. The spoons should be closer though not in contact (explodes in contact) to reduce consumption of high electricity current.
It is already long ago, but very useful in those days! So if the spoons are closer (no touch) you will use less Watt?
I want to use this kind of heater in my sand stove to heat the sand. Have solar pannels, it may not use to much Watt.
If you have time, will you please help me with an answer?

please dont say its for kids those who do not electricity... all great projects but need to consider all safty aspects ... since you only put music ...a suggestion in future projects which involves fire, gas and electricity please guide the kids for how make it safely it may cost life otherwise...

Shot circuit was happened because water is a good conductor of electricity and so if two terminals or sockets touch on a same conductor shot circuit happens

this is like electrolysis
this *is* electrolysis. If that is tap water, it'll have chlorine in it, and doing this will create chlorine gas AKA Mustard Gas. The same gas used in WWI that killed millions by melting the lungs.

If you managed not to inhale the chlorine gas and lived, the metal oxides that is now mixed with the water (that's why the water gets darker and blurry) will make it acidic. Drinking it will not kill you, but it will upset your stomach real bad.

nice idea, though dangerous, i just have one question, how usable this water is, does it have high amount of sodium in it, if you can filter it it will be a break through coz, you can find the lowest consumption water heater in the world, we can definitely, isolate the water and build a better prototype, The highest consumption in the entire home is of geyser first, Ac second, and iron third.
