- Car camping in rain overnight with my dog in the huge North Face Wawona 6 tent. Also used a tarp between the tent and my Ford Ranger truck for sitting out and cooking under. The rain was extremely heavy and there were some major gusts of wind too. This camp seriously tested all the equipment. As usual I include my various screw ups. Hope you enjoy!

My medication has suddenly started effecting me differently for no reason and I'm experiencing the same thing. You can also try guided meditation videos and breathing techniques to help you rest. I really enjoyed your camping, with car, trip today. At my age 76, I am way past the backpack adventures. I did a lot of “dirt camping” with my kids. Now they are out of the home and I am without the support and company for such activities. Since my wonderful companion canine SPENCER, has been lost to the heavens, this trip shows me that I can still enjoy the outdoors. Thanks again. Thanks, too, for sparing this time with me,. PS. Tony and Brucie, I sure do enjoy sharing your camping trips with you and Brucie!! Many years ago when I was a younger lady, my husband, my two boys and I used to go camping a lot. Now I'm 75 years old not in the best of health so I really enjoy going on these camping trips with you and Brucie. I may have told you this before, but one summer, my husband was working on the railroad on a Super Gang which meant he was out in the midwest somewhere, so my boys and I went to a place called Paint Creek very near the Appalachian Trail and stayed for 3 weeks. Best vacation ever! I had ordered a tent and it didn't come so I went to our local home supply store and I bought 30 ft of the heaviest clear plastic they had and several yards of ski rope.. and a bag of heavy duty clothes pins. When we got to paint Creek I picked out a place where I knew I could use the surrounding trees as a place to build my tent. I had a large canvas tarp and it just so happened that there were four trees two side by side and two more side by side just behind the front two. I put ski rope between the two in the back and the two in the front and I draped that tarp and made a roof and then brought it down the back and made a floor. That was my kitchen where I kept my coolers and dry wood. The boy's dad had brought up a truckload of wood before he left to go on his job. And on the weekend family members brought up plenty of ice and my uncle had loaned me his camp stove. I built a fire when we got there and for 3 weeks that fire burned. And the weird part was that there was a terrible storm came through that killed a hiker up on the Appalachian Trail and pulled up humongous trees and just threw them around it was really bad. My boys and my little brother stayed in the tent and held it down and I kept the fire burning. It never did go out. The park ranger would come around several times through the week just to check on us because we were the only one there from Sunday to Friday. And it was very deep in the mountains. One Sunday afternoon, the end of the first week we saw all kinds of police cars going up the mountain. The next morning the park ranger came by and said they had found a body on the Tennessee side not too far from where we were camped . . he had been murdered in North Carolina and brought over the state line to Tennessee very near the Appalachian Trail.. The boys told me the day before when they had gone up the creek fishing that they smelled something terrible. So I assume that it was that decomposing body of the murder victim. The park ranger lived just about 6 MI from where we were so he came by regularly to check on us. It was an absolutely wonderful time with my two boys and my little brother. Especially since my youngest son was killed in 1992 on a motorcycle and my little brother died in 2013 by being hit with a motorcycle. I've talked too much haven't I? LOL. All I really wanted you to know is that I do so enjoy your camping trips. This one that I just got through watching was filmed or was published on November the 23rd 2021 camping in the rain with huge tent and truck. Bruce is standing in the creek with big eyes, LOL he does love the water doesn't he? He sure is a beautiful dog. You have picked a perfect camping place. The 3 weeks I spent camping at paint Creek was beside a creek just exactly like the one in your video. Thank you so much for sharing these videos with us I love them!
This is such a de-stressor. Hearing the rain on the tarp is totally relaxing. I love how you interact with your fur baby, Bruce!! Thanks so much for taking us along!! I camped with my dog in the mntns of Kentucky and East Tennessee and this took me right back there. We did have wild boar next camp site over, a badger at the drinking water spring, and met a black bear with a cub. The storms were amazing and I made great friends, who heard there was a lady on her own. They were delighted to show me around, and taught me all sorts of things. I kept a fire going to keep the bugs away- and was never bothered by the hogs, who worried me more than momma bear or badger.

@@duggydugg3937 I haven't seen wolverines in Appalachia. The badger was napping in the sun, on a rock near a drinking water spring my doggo and I hiked to every other day. The badger looked up, nodded at Bart, looked me up and down, and curled back up and went back to sleep. It had the markings of a badger, the face was undeniable.

I just absolutely love hanging out with you and Bruce! These longer vids are fantastic! I’m an older lady who loved camping fiercely in my day!! Just me and my dog now and with these vids it kind of feels like having an extended family.. you and Brucy!! You keep me from being lonely!! Tony, after watching your videos for a couple months you inspired me to start camping. At 53 years old I guess it's never too late. I bought an REI Base Camp 6. I've gone camping three times now with my dog Hudson ( a Brtittany). Keep up the great videos.

Speak for yourself. My dog is very obedient yet not as clingy, I don't walk around my dog, my dog moves for me. And he will never eat or drink until I finish pouring his food and water.

My Dad and I built a cabin 16 miles from Yosemite. Up in the pine forests of California. Watching you reminded me how happy I was every time I would go to the cabin and how it always made me sad when it was time to go home. Thanks for the video I really enjoyed it.

The flipping of the large pancake at the camp site is perhaps one of the most underrated art forms in camping. While tent pitching and bush shelter building get the "ahs and oohs", pancake flipping provides instant gratification or disappointment. Well done! and Done well! Worth the watch just to see the flip. Like watching a gymnast do a backflip on the beam.
When you say you wish we were there with you, believe me , I wish I was there with you too. I love camping and I always have. The Trolls can go and play with themselves. Just watching you and Brucie enjoy yourselves makes me want to go camping myself. That is also a nice tent. I have a tunnel/dome tent by Coleman and it is great for my needs. Great video and thanks for the share.

I've only seen four or five camping videos and I only watch the ones with the campers who have their dogs with them...I love seeing them enjoying nature and sharing it and their meals with their owners. I absolutely loved this video and trust me I usually can't watch a 2 hour video unless it's a movie but from your setting up the tent and having to spell bed in front of Bruce 😄 to the cooking and watching Bruce run around excitedly at night with the light on him, it was really fun. Bruce is a super cutie. I look forward to more of them.

We love winter camping. Here in the netherlands we know everything about wet feet/the Netherlands really is a land of water. The main thing is a big one ! tarp above your tent and pick a dry/high piece of ground. And we love the old school fabric/cotton tents. Nice video.

Oh man, you were in your element and what a difference from the previous grim nightmare cold wet camp out hiking with a heavy gear! Now car camping is the way to go and what an awesome woodland. Thanks for the lovely drone footage. That land is exquisite! I loved seeing Bruce and that chiki bird! My mouth was already watering at the thought of that food! I never watch videos this long but I absolutely loved this video. It was so peaceful. Loved the soot you where in. Even the rain was bare able. I will be watching more definitely. The tent ⛺️ set up was much needed for people who want to learn how. And i sure did write down that mac and cheese chili. It looked so good. I want cornbread with mine. Yum 😋

Lembrou os acampamentos que fiz com marido e 03 filhos: acampei com chuva , com calor e até com neve. Até hoje tenho a barraca e os equipamentos de cozinha, quartos, etc.......isso há mais de 30 anos atrás, com meus meninos crianças. Foi um tempo muito bom, que deixou saudades....abraço aqui do Brasil.

Extremely long video but I enjoyed watching it beginning to end. And of course I always enjoy watching Brucie. Back in the day when I used to camp we didn't have tents like that how lucky you are. I asked you a question once and you answered me, I was pleasantly surprised because a lot of comments that you leave people do not respond to. I very much enjoy watching your videos keep on going.

Hey Tony, you are an inspiration to me. I used to camp in leh ladhak a decade ago. Due to health issues I had to recoil, I am back on track now and since I am a motorist I would want to get back to the camping pleasures. I feel like I am out there camping everytime I watch your videos. Love from India(apologies on behalf of all my brothers and sisters from this part of the world for being mean - if so!) I envy you being able to go to these wonderful places. We used to camp a lot but age set in and it wasn't such a good idea anymore. I will say that if you need to "chill" go camping....not the tourist type places. You get a real feeling of peace. Love Bruce

My husband and I came across this video last night. Loved your content and especially Bruce. We have a sheltie that is loved. We are in our late 50s & 60s so we sorta give up tent camping, but we absolutely loved this tent. Thanks for sharing. (Pay the trolls no mind) Can’t wait to watch more.
