This sounds a lot like this guy cherry picking his garbage worn steel shaft, for parts that could have fit with not a completely destroyed control arm shaft. I don't care if you can see the original machining marks, steel parts in contact with other metal parts wear out and become undersized. The AC Delco parts aren't a true press fit like they would be factory, their nominal size just seems to be better than the moog ones in this instance of an undersized shaft.
@@JosephArata No. Nothing short of machining the part down to a smaller diameter would have achieved that surface finish, unless there was only minimal rust to remove that did not substantially change the diameter, certainly nowhere near 1mm. It is not at all true that this portion of the shaft would have worn out and become undersized. That's ridiculous and anyone who has done this sort of repair before, knows this.
Always use moog problem solvers or ac delco professional Theses are the higher end parts. On the moog you will be able to tell if it is the problem solver with a k stamped on it. If it has an R stamped on it, it is ths lower quality part. Both companies lower end parts are pure junk. Spend a little more and it will save you a lot later on.

The only time I've ever had a problem with a Moog suspension part not fitting, was when I ordered the wrong part number and it was my error. 🤔 Moog does have plants all over the world, and things like the hubs and bearings are made in South Korea which are much higher quality than the Timken Hubs made in China.
Moog quality drop alot. Pass Moog at all cost. I like to add, my Camry lower control arm with the ball joints already clunking and making noises. Just don't have the time to get another LCA, because it is hassle replacing it.
ACDelco sources from multiple suppliers, all of which are media grade or better for their Pro line and median grade or lower for their Advantage line. I have never seen an ACDelco BJ that incorporates some of Moog's patented features, for example their new minimum profile boot, and Moogs are usually greaseable while most of ACDelco's are sealed and use a plastic bushing. I'm not suggesting Moog always makes the best but they do not appear to resell for any other brand, though there are many clones, some counterfeit and some in the gray area of misrepresentation and fishy packaging.

Get the ball joints with the best warranty. Look, every mfg has issues at times, and the end customer is the one that suffers. If you go to NAPA, they repackage Mevotech, MOOG and other mfgs parts, and then warranty them locally. It provides a bit of consolation when they fail.
@@mattlawton4715 I was thinking they had two product lines, better and best, but could be wrong. I had heard moog was still good, but they were out when I did my tahoe ball joints, so went AC Delco. Would crack into pieces and become ineffective. However, he could have just put a metal shim in to make up the difference, but why bother when you have it apart and can just reject and use another part instead.
Moog tolerances are shocking way out from oe spec,on the sealed ball joints you cannot grease the covers hide the fact they don't even grease under the boots sufficiently so they have a terrible wear rate
An OEM quality or equivalent aftermarket bushing will last as long as the original did, years longer than 6 months. Polyurethane can be an upgrade for a race car, but can also be harsh and squeaky or else a continual lubrication burden.
That's been my experience too. In the last decade, I've had too many genuine Moog tie-rod ends that were utter junk. They moved all their manufacturing overseas and the quality control is very poor.
I bought some Mevotech parts in the past. Cheaply made chinese junk. Recently bought some more for a Mustang. They were not cheap. Came in very solid looking pieces made in USA. I guess I will order more from them.
What I've been told by GM, is that aftermarket parts are usually made slightly larger or smaller on components that have wear on them. This way after some years a shaft in this case could be a little worn or eroded away, an aftermarket part should be made slightly smaller so that the fit is tight. An OEM part would be too loose. So in this case, the Moog might be a perfect OEM but the shaft might be slightly worn.
Moog use to be very good back in the day. Now it seems there garbage. I've had some parts fail on me to over the past couple of years from moog. As of right now it's not safe at all to buy auto parts from Amazon it's to much of a gamble. Ac delco is GM.
I have spent several thousand dollars on rockauto parts in the last 5 or so years. I have used Moog and ac delco advantage and ac delco professional. Every single Moog part has been higher quality than any oem part I replaced it with or any ac delco part I have used. I do not trust anything made a delco. I have never gotten a decent part from ac delco. Every single part was cheap and wore out right away. There is no comparison between Moog and ac delco
I'll take the AC Delco Professional or Dana Spicer over Moog any day. Moog isn't the company it was a decade ago. Terrible quality control as they moved more and more manufacturing overseas.

@@karlschauff7989 Hardly. Lemforder reboxing? I think no?
Moog has stuff made in china , Korea , Mexico , and Alabama. You can differentiate based on the letters in the part number and price . You get what you pay for as ussual
The answer to your question is... Rock Auto 😂 they are notoriously bad. Ordered two of the same water pumps for a 95 Mercedes SL.... they send me two water pumps for Mercedes S500
I did radius arm bushings on my 66 f250, and I did moog on one side, and no name on the other. I am going to see which one shits faster, and I bet its the moog
Did you contact RockAuto to inform them about the MOOG part and get a replacement, it looks like the MOOG part is not in the right box
I did get refunds for the bad parts. Rockauto is great about refunds and replacments.
You don't need the caliper, I can eyeball it on my TV and see the MOOG is bigger.
How do you know that what is says on the packaging is true, as far as where the part was actually made?
Guess you should've oversprayed the shaft ends more for the moog to fit..
That's ridiculous and anyone who has done this sort of repair before, knows this.
ac delco is not made here anymore bud and also the rubber on all delco parts are junk the rubber will split crack rot in couple months
i see this alot in moog ether wrong part in box or the right part just dosnt fit
I have a 1996 dakota 4wd v6 please some body let me know what is the best option moog or AC Delco...I know moog used to be good I think they still
The lack of serrations on the sleeve gave it away as junk
Always use moog problem solvers or ac delco professional
Theses are the higher end parts. On the moog you will be able to tell if it is the problem solver with a k stamped on it. If it has an R stamped on it, it is ths lower quality part. Both companies lower end parts are pure junk. Spend a little more and it will save you a lot later on.
👍Nice im interested in a upper ball joint video acdelco vs moog or other known brand
Id like to see how much that wabbles after tightened down. JS.
slop will create wear
I too have heard that moog parts are awesome, but I think the last 2 or 3 years I've also heard that their quality has gone down the drain.
Moog is trash
Moog used to be the best! What happened!!
Slave trading happened.
Canada has a Manufacturing facility on east coast.... Transit Auto. Cheap prices.
🇺🇸😎Thanks for the information. 🇺🇸😎🇺🇸
This is like the third or fourth RUclips channel pointing out quality control for this company is completely gone!! My problem is that i watch RUclips and sometimes this is the first time i've ever tried something and if i got a part that didn't fit right, would i know that it wasn't fitting right? Starting to get very scared of the brand the sad part is is probably a lot of those parts on my car..
My thoughts exactly....who can be trusted anymore?
The only time I've ever had a problem with a Moog suspension part not fitting, was when I ordered the wrong part number and it was my error. 🤔
Moog does have plants all over the world, and things like the hubs and bearings are made in South Korea which are much higher quality than the Timken Hubs made in China.
AcDelco are not domestic parts. Some are made right beside your Chinese parts... Can't even go by what the box says. Worked at GM dealership
I think the correct title for the video should be Moog versus Mevotech lol
Guess I’ll be switching to AC delco
Moog quality drop alot. Pass Moog at all cost.
I like to add, my Camry lower control arm with the ball joints already clunking and making noises. Just don't have the time to get another LCA, because it is hassle replacing it.
Moog good bushings, its Thermoplastic, last longer then acdelco rubber bushings
Moog Is federal mogul...owned by Carl Icahn.need I say more...
Moog
What ball joints you like to run? Moog or AC Delco? Wouldn't surprise me if AC DELCO uses Moog with their name on it with some parts.
@@stinkycheese804 I'm trying to figure out what ones to go with for a 93 c1500. Might just buy complete upper and lower with new bushings and ball joints already installed.
Get the ball joints with the best warranty. Look, every mfg has issues at times, and the end customer is the one that suffers. If you go to NAPA, they repackage Mevotech, MOOG and other mfgs parts, and then warranty them locally. It provides a bit of consolation when they fail.
Moog is bad since the went to China.
@@mattlawton4715 I was thinking they had two product lines, better and best, but could be wrong. I had heard moog was still good, but they were out when I did my tahoe ball joints, so went AC Delco. If its in spec, China probably still makes a good part to their standards, but hate seeing all these companies doing that.
No moog for me. Those days are gone
What if bad shipment why not order multiple units from same place and compare them to themselves comparing quality control also
You want the ac delco 👍
MOOG are garbage in my experience. I had their wheel hub failed twice (2nd was warranty replacement) within a year. MOOG are not much better than cheap no name parts on eBay.
I replaced all 4 of my wheel bearing with moog and one failed after a year. It was so loud I couldn't even hear my radio with the windows rolled up.
FROM A FORUM THAT I FOLLOW:
"Just a side note Moog bought out Mevotech a few months ago so what you might think is a moog control arm it could very well be mevotech(cheaper brand). We (my work) reboxed mevotech parts into brand new moog boxes when that happened.'
"There are 2 different numbers for moog control arms. There is a CK# and those are moog and then there is the RK# that are cheaper and were the ones that we reboxed."
CK# no encuentro nada cin esas letras
Have to get Moog problem solver
Thanks
I hear MOOG is not that big on quality control. Heck they can't even be bothered to get the same part number on inner and outer packaging.
Probably because it wasn't really a moog bushing.
I was gonna buy moog wheel bearings for my 97 Vette n after seeing all these moog complaints i won't fork in the money for them n they aint cheap either 2 wheel bearings are 360 dollars..fuck..now what? Ac Delco? Help ..which should i get?
Got a brand-new set of MOOG Wheel Bearing Hubs for the famous 95 MERC, which lasted about 2 years and then failed.
Replaced the MOOG hubs with genuine Motorcraft "HUB 3" parts, and all is well.
SOME Motorcraft parts are still made in the USA, but not many.
Timken makes great bearings. See if you can cross reference the part number. Bearing from Japan and USA are usually the better quality, but you get what you pay for!
And that ACDelco professional in gold, some are made in India.
I use to Buy Moog suspension components.
Dornan use to be good
My replacement instrument cluster for my Silverado was off by 3-4 mph under over 60 was 4-6.
An led bulb was out., Soon it shorted out it was fun to find the parasitic drain. The cluster.
Ac is spot on use cell speedo app and timer is exact.
NAPA is going to stop selling Dornan due to fitment and quality control.
A shop I use to hang out with the now new owner gets after me for not using Delco or Delphi.
Everyone in the shop has lecutured me. In a bid needed new caliper bought house brand O'Reilly's as out of better brands it leaked fluid in steady stream I refused the OEM calipers until Rock Auto sent Delco it worked first try. The I o Reilly nearly broke head off banjo bolt try to stop the leak used the new washers it was not machined correctly..
Like optics, tools , audio you get what you pay for
Moog is definitely hit or miss
Moog sucks now. I gave up on using them, had several ball joints that didn't last, or that came out of the box with loose boots.
Your complaint seems a little bit more legit then the last guy that was just ranting so to be honest what I would recommend to you if you wanna go out of your way would be file a complaint with the FTC.
Because you would be helping the greater good as it appears you are educated enough to understand what is right and what’s wrong and previous quality. Please do this.
AC Delco doesn't make any of their parts at all.The fuel pumps, made by Delphi.NGK makes the platinum and iridium spark plugs
AC Delco always the best
I've found Moog parts to be crap..I just order the OEM Mopar for my Ram..not that much more and the quality is off the chart better.
Idk what you are smoking. OEM/Mopar is usually 2x or 3x more expensive.
So where I can buy moog bushing
Don't bother with MOOG -- RUBBER -- bushings. Get Urethane bushings from ENERGY SUSPENSION -- They fit right and will last longer than the vehicle.
J-B Weld?
Would crack into pieces and become ineffective. However, he could have just put a metal shim in to make up the difference, but why bother when you have it apart and can just reject and use another part instead.
Moog tolerances are shocking way out from oe spec,on the sealed ball joints you cannot grease the covers hide the fact they don't even grease under the boots sufficiently so they have a terrible wear rate
You might have bought the wrong part, but whatever
I use polyurethane...I got sick and tired of bushings lasting 6 months.. lifetime on tierod... bushings junk..
An OEM quality or equivalent aftermarket bushing will last as long as the original did, years longer than 6 months. Polyurethane can be an upgrade for a race car, but can also be harsh and squeaky or else a continual lubrication burden.
Imitation or Bad QC?
I think bad QC. These cam from RockAuto, but then ANY outlet can get imitation parts.
ACDelco professional all the way Moog is junk
That's been my experience too. In the last decade, I've had too many genuine Moog tie-rod ends that were utter junk. They moved all their manufacturing overseas and the quality control is very poor.
I need a Ford Bronco 11 Automatic Transmission oil dipstick part number!
1990 Ford Bronco 11!
I bought some Mevotech parts in the past. Cheaply made chinese junk. Recently bought some more for a Mustang. They were not cheap. Came in very solid looking pieces made in USA. I guess I will order more from them.
I only try no names for small parts/easy to install like sway bar links. Just to try out the brand.
So in this case, the Moog might be a perfect OEM but the shaft might be slightly worn.
no
Moog use to be very good back in the day. Now it seems there garbage. I've had some parts fail on me to over the past couple of years from moog. As of right now it's not safe at all to buy auto parts from Amazon it's to much of a gamble. Ac delco is GM.
moog really doesnt care about old vehicles
The Moog die hards in the comments lol
not a real moog part
@@karlschauff7989 I tend to agree. Like many companies, they are riding the shirttails of their former reputation more than actually producing quality parts.
I've seen it time and time again over the past 10-15 years and unfortunately I don't think it's going to get any better.
Remember when Hunter ceiling fans were the best. Same thing.
@@karlschauff7989 Hardly. Moog parts have changed almost zero in the last decade besides a bj boot change because that was their primary weakness in the past, boots that didn't last as long as the rest of the BJ did. You think Moog was made in USA 10 years ago? Lol, no they have multiple factories all over the world and have for decades.
only thing gov watchdogs look for is tailpipe smog, could care less about car parts
The "gov watchdogs" are not responsible for our purchasing choices.
They ARE responsible for the quality of our air and water.
@SlikLizrd , looks like they won't be able to help with that anymore either. Quality control is going the way of the dodo. It is a scarry time.
Moog is shite for me - just had to replace a couple of droplinks that failed within 10k gentle miles - cheap rubbish
Does this dude have a personal thing about moog cause i see so many videos about how bad moog is which isn't entirely true there's a thing called returning the part and getting a replacement shit I know people who redid there whole underside in moog with no issues. Personal experiences may very. Sounds like moog is annoyed with this dude and purposely sends him broke parts.
I have no relationship to MOOG, or any auto parts company. This was only my singular experience and is not a representation of MOOG as a whole. I have other MOOG parts on other cars. That being said, every parts manufacturer that subs work out will have out of spec parts at times. I spent many years as a mechanic and saw my share of Factory FFF'd parts.
Just another reason to buy local, not from the clearing houses.
Enjoy your wait for the correct parts.
Rock Auto drop ships from the same distributors as the local guys, enjoy paying twice for the same part. Also their is nothing wrong with the MOOG in this video, The shaft is NOT suppose to be an interference fit, it grips on the ends of the inner sleeve when tightened down, it isn't going to rattle when tightened down.
Fake... Amazon and Ebay. You get what you pay for
