The F90X (N90S) was not a "budget" version of the F100. The F100 was the next version in that line and came several years later. The F90X was actually a "prosumer" mid-range camera just below the F4 at the time it came out.

My first 35mm film SLR was a Nikon FM which I purchased in 1980 and I still have it and love it. That started me out on my fascination with Nikon SLR cameras and now I have an F with Ftn Photomic meter finder, a Nikkormat FT2, and an FG in addition to the FM. I have an affinity for the older Nikon SLR models. Although I like the solid construction and feel of the older, mostly metal cameras I picked up the FG primarily for the convenience of the multiple metering modes and the through-the-lens flash metering capability with compatible flash units. That's not to say there are not fine cameras made by other manufacturers just that I started out with Nikon and built up a collection of lenses and accessories so I stuck with Nikon.
My love for Nikon was born out of a desire to acquire the F1, but I chose the F2 in the end and when that died, I bought the FM2n and still have it, despite my eyes no longer being able to use it as easily as I once did. I now use a Olympus EM 10 ii . It reminds me of my FM2n and goes everywhere with me in a Billingham digital camera bag. This video was a journey down memory lane and I enjoyed it very much . That Oly EM-10 Mark II is an excellent mirrorless SLR! I have one. I also have the Sony a6100. For film, I love my Nikon F and my Nikon FA. I also have the Olympus OM2SP (spot program) film SLR. A gem of a camera!

No Nikkormat? Those cameras can do all the same as Nikon F, F2, F3... but for a much lower price... Also for example you put f50 but you did not put f80 on which you can use Nikon G lenses....

@@henryrogers5500 yeah that’s two cameras. My point was it’s easier to do a list of cameras from that era that DON’T have aperture priority than to list all the ones that DO. But for shutter priority, (among Nikon cameras) only the Nikon FA and F3 from that era have shutter priority.
The F4 is still (somehow) relatively undervalued compared to its older siblings. It seems like there's a disconnect with a lot of new film shooters who want a VERY "analog" experience, and the F4's technological advancements over the F3 make it, maybe, too close to a modern DSLR to be interesting to those shooters looking to get back to "analog" roots. That being said, the F4 is as robust, impressive, and innovative a camera as Nikon ever produced. It just didn't show up in searches as much as the ones listed above. (-:

@@Cameraville Only based on fad popularity. Not the best reason. The K1000 would then be the best camera ever in history. I repair, sell and collect. The number of people asking about those two cameras and know absolutely nothing at all is truly amazing. It does keep the cost of much better cameras down though. :)

Almost every camera has aperture priority. It’s shutter priority that is not so common on these film cameras.

I think you're referring to the FM-10! The FG, by all accounts, was manufactured in-house by Nikon.
