The British who started of inland knew they were going to Uganda. It was the Kabaka who always signed for Uganda including the Protectorate.

The song sung by Mr. Mazuwe is translated thusly: go with your suffering ways or attitude, we are going to the Cape or Cape Town. His explanation of it may have that meaning but the song is in either Zulu or Xhosa. But I love the way he narrates his story. Why is this talk dubbed Mugabe's son?

All the same very interesting. Funny think is I bet you there were no visas when these young guys were traveling. Sharon - what country are you from if you dont mind me asking. And have you lived in the West. I had an African American friend in the military and visited Zim and stayed at our house. He could pass for mixed race but as you may know there is no such thing here in the US. He met a beautiful girl in Zim working at the airport and he said something about her being a beautiful black woman and she quickly corrected him to say she was colored. It was funny to see them tussle and I had to explain to him it had nothing to do with her being ashamed to be black but these were labels that had been created by colonialists especially in Southern Africa.

@@sharon9337 That's so true. A lot of brainwashing. I went to school with colored guys. Most spoke some Shima but seemed a little ashamed of it. For the most part we all got along. I went to Churchill Boys High and close by was Arcadia, Breeside Cranborne and Hillside which had sizable colored populations.

@@sphamandlahlongwa3724 yes, that is why the Kings wife (who he said was Zulu) said, "these are my people" from the songs they sang. Ndebele are an offshoot from Zulu, so the language is similar. They came into south-west Zimbabwe around 1830.
