I think it's more that you can build a lift shaft INTO a structural pillar. You can also build a lift shaft that doesn't support anything. The lift shaft isn't the important part, it's the structural pillar that's important, it's just that it's also a convenient place to put a lift shaft. Have I said lift shaft enough? Lift shaft.

as far as the scale goes on the title screen Matt, I imagine the designers designed it in 1080p and you have a 1440p monitor, so it naturally looks small until you scale it up. My second monitor is 1440p (second because it's low refresh rate) and I scale everything up on it.
Finally, we needed another game that is actually related to engineering after.... erm.... what happened to Engitopia.................... we don't talk about that....
This reminds me of the old Sim Tower, many hours of getting , like +100/minute, then reading the next chapter in my book, then coming back to a bunch of cash and conatucting more. One of my first Idle games, as they're called now.
Reminds me of an old mobile game called Droid Towers, was able to make your own tower with shops, offices, rooms, bathrooms, even had a chap who 'd hide in one of your bathrooms when you ran out of money and he gave you a loan if you agreed to hide him from your security in your tower.
I don't know if you're much for retro games, but Project Highrise is a modern version of Sim Tower from back in the '90s. If you can get it working on a modern PC, it's definitely worth checking out.
Can't you do a zig zag sort of water line? Build on one floor, and if you run into spacing issues like at 12:40, make another water pump thing on that same floor? This may sound not engineer-y enough, but I'd put the elevators on the side opposite the main entrance, on the right. Then you could have the utilities hiding behind the elevator shaft and you won't run into 12:40 problems again.
You should check railroad online, there are bridges to engineer, and big locomotives that doesn't look like nob but you will still find that it looks like it because you are yourself, so you'll like it I think
I've been watching you for some time now and there and I see that you are trying new games. I'd like seeing you trying Prison Architect, someone probably recommended this game already so take this as another upvote for the game.
I was so busy watching you mess stuff up I didn't even realize your building was the strongest shape until the zoom out lmao. Also, yeah you can start building sideways and get all crazy and kinda unrealistic at some point
alright so the other day i went to some kind of expisition or something and right next to it was a strongest shape building and i satrted screaming "MATT WHAT DID YOU DO" and everyone looked at me it was fun
Don't forget to extend your water supply to the top floors; you need good flow all the way to the tip.

Look at the video thumbnail, maybe it there…
And maybe it at the 20:15 🤔

What I learnt here today: on any path to fame and glory one must expect to encounter electrical transformers.
As opposed to Autobot Transformers.
And a dong
Today i learned-
Two methods used to make foundations for buildings.
That an lift shaft can be used as a pillar on its own.
I think it's more that you can build a lift shaft INTO a structural pillar. You can also build a lift shaft that doesn't support anything. I have worked on block elevator shafts that we built beam pockets into to support trusses

so true 😂
You must be an architect 😄

Thanks, I was confused too. I always thought of architects as engineers for big structures. They always got a lot of respect in old american movies.
the "one little personal old crisis later" was gold and more relatable than i'd like to admit
Alternative title: RCE take a loan to build a skyscraper knob in Project Highrise
Poor Jeffery. Forever living his life with his name spelled incorrectly.
This is inspired by the classic SimTower!
rest in peace Maxis
Yes :)) I still play SimTower now and then :) Goal: tower with 100 floors and full width and fairly good satisfaction and balance.
Yeah when he said Fallout Shelter and like 2 seconds into the game I was like "Nope this has total SimTower vibes."
