Thanks Tomas - I have had trouble with this but am now using my 3rd finger on the 4th string and then pinkie on both the 3rd and 2nd string - this works for me and makes it easy to change to other barre chords whether major or minor - but perhaps this method could lead to other problems later?
Thanks for this.. I was trying to use the method with the three fingers with the A shape.. this was pretty much a physical impossibility with my fingers trying to squeeze into a tiny space on electric.. the two finger Barre is much easier! Thanks!
Good lesson Tomas! I finished up the "Barre Chords for Everyone" chapter on Real Guitar Success. It's coming along but find I need to work on it daily or I loose what progress I've made, and feels like I have to start over. I've been playing Creep by Radio Head, only uses4 Barre Chords and with the Arpeggio finger picking, you can Really hear what you need to work on. Plus it make practice more fun.
Barre chords are really an issue...later well...I got used to it. It's not always perfect but I sing too LOL so my friends don't notice if it goes a bit mute or buzz LOL... Thanks Tomas for these tips. 🎶🎶🎶
I had just replaced the strings when the high e broke. So I'm getting my worth out of them without it. Mostly using that guitar for rhythm and it's actually nice not having it lol
I wish I could have personal lessons with Tomas. He seems to really know what he's talking about, and he doesn't come here to show off what he can do like so many others do. I'm debating whether I'm committed to playing more before I sign up for his online lessons.
Pinky for the win! Easier to make the stretch, less meat than the ring finger so less chance of muting the first string, and the knuckle bends backward more easily. Try not to mute that first string, it adds a nice ring to the chords!
I couldn't be sure Hefty but it's likely something you can work on. With stretching and practice I've seen many students do things they thought they'd never do.
I would have liked to have seen/heard your best shot at barring an A using only the index with your third finger. I wonder, is there any 'guitar hero' who can make this %$#&n chord flawlessly?
Adjusting the action shouldn't be that difficult, anyone who isn't able to do it, just watch some videos on youtube (it's actually a lot easier than actually playing the guitar )
Great explanation! Thank you!
Excellent explanation. Thanks 👍
Valuable tips sir❤
I love this guy!!! It's like he's reading my mind.
That's cool. I had other students ask about this also.
@@TomasMichaud sir, my third finger doesn't bend. It's straight.
I like that you advocate doing 2-3 short sessions instead of one long one. I strongly agree and found out it works a LOT better for me.
Thank you so much sir. I got a lot of inspiration to persist on my guitar practice. You are awesome!
Thank you sir for this important lesson!
Thanks for this tutorial.. 🎸
You're very welcome Udayan.
I really like that exercise of yours at the end. You're the only person I've seen who has a practical training exercise. I'm going to give it a go.
Sounds good Ed. Let me know how it works out.
This was so encouraging! Thank you!
You're welcome Michele.

You're welcome to Nicole. You're not alone with barre chords.

You are amazing the way you are teaching it's amazing also i want to know which Guitar you are using it's sounds great
Thanks, Shailesh. That's a Yamaha ACR5 Acoustic (currently my favorite acoustic)

You sound like a jovial wizard sitting in an old tavern, teaching the ancient ways of guitar.
I want to play burning up by Jones bro's but IDK y I can't transition bm to the others
I use my 4th finger amd the high e sounds great is it all right?
If it works for you it's all right.
This channel is too underrated
Thanks,. I appreciate it.
My G string won't ring out 😭
So is it okay if my 1st string get muted ?
I wouldn't worry about it Prateek.
Only 3000 views. Should be 10x. awesome video.
Thanks Tommy.
The top knuckle of my ring finger doesn’t really bend, is this something I have to build up or is this an anatomical issue

I do the pinkie
I think my ring finger is too long for A Major shaped barre chord...lemme try it with pinky😉

Did anyone ever tell you that you like Marty musics dad
Yup, heard that before.
