Hari stops Anandi's parents from working in the field, and as they refuse to give up their piece of land, he orders his men to beat them up. While his mother tries to save the family from a sickle, her attempt goes vain. Anandi begs Hari to have mercy on them and promises the police officer to leave as her comes to arrest her father. Not being in a condition to work, her father feels helpless and both wonder what they can do for a living.
