To those complaining about the audience. As a dancer, the feeling of being on stage absolutely killing it when you can hear the audience going crazy does nothing BUT give you the energy to absolutely go full out! It's all about the support!
Thats totally true! I danced in elementary and middle school and the audience always helped me calm down from being nervous and boosted my adrenaline. It's amazing hearing the audience, it helps a lot.
i understand what your saying but there is a wrong and right way to do it and this is wrong. im also a dance have been for 15 years i feel it especially disrespectful to the dancers and the message of the dance that the choreographer is trying to show by having people screaming at the beginning and throughout a number. i feel at the end of the dance the audience should express their opinions of the number by clapping and maybe shouting some encouragement but take in the dance first don't ruin the whole experience of the number. just my thoughts.
stylemeupgood dance like this deserves to be cheered on. If it was a show piece then maybe it would be different but this is a competition so all the crowd hype is actually really helpful and encouraging.
I hate it when dance videos like this get so viral because the uneducated masses start complaining about the audience but what they dont understand is the audience's cheers is the fuel to the performance. It energizes the dancers and hypes them up and it is a show of admiration and respect no matter what dance style rather than what most of you think of as disrespectful. Just my thoughts
Michael Robles I agree with you. It just comes to show how moved the audience is aswell. The whole energy, the whole presence, the whole dance is felt equally among the dancers and audience. They are part of the dance I feel; That power and the emotion in this run extremely high, which is why it is such an amazing performance.
It's not just your thought. It's right. The spirit in them all, the dancers, the audiences. Man, even I got touched. Anyway... I fully support your statement
Michael Robles I get that people were hyped about this AMAZING choreography, but for me the screaming was ABIT too much. When I'm on stage, I love hearing the crowd, but when dancing a piece like this, I'm more of the kinda guy that goes completely silent because of how moved I am of the choreography.
It's 2024, and this is still the most beautiful yet emotional piece I've ever seen. I will always come back to you when the dancing fire in me starts going away. You showed me why I loved dancing in the first place...
Just realized that the man who sat in the center at the end wasnt in it in the beginning, symbolizing an addition to the orphanage. Such a powerful message. Well deserved 1st place!
This is the best performance I have ever seen. I have been to many dance competitions because I am a dancer, and also many performances, but I have never seen anything as incredible as that. Just think about the choreographer, who choreographed an almost 8 minute long piece, and the dancers, who didn't quit, didn't mess up, and put so so so much hard work and effort into it. This is a masterpiece.
Rubén Barbosa I watched this for dance in performing arts in the foreign country I used to live in called Dubai in the uae and now its reminds me of when we had so much fun me and all my friends but the last time I a Saw them was the last ever
After watching this video about 10 times now, I just found out at 6:15, the person with the solo has a disability, and that contributed so much into the part.
Anyone come back to this from time to time? Idk how i found this a couple years ago but man I’m glad i did. I love watching dancing. But this right here is a true Gem. I feel honored to have found this and that I’m able to appreciate their hard work and skill. Simply amazing.
I love this. I was in an orphanage. It was the loneliest thing I’ve felt. Yet my happiest. In an orphanage. It’s like having tons of brothers and sisters. Some are mean and some are there for you. When you’re at your most vulnerable, they come to help you. This made me cry because it reminded me of all the wonderful people I met in there. It was exactly like this dance. Crazy, sad, yet happy.
Thank you for sharing your experience :>> I can't imagine how lonely you've felt in your times at the orphanage, but I really admire you for being able to cherish the good times you've had regardless. I hope you're doing better now :) even if you're not, that's perfectly fine! Wishing all the best for you, and the many others who've had went through the same/similar experiences, and may God bless you
Who the hell are these people complaining about the audience?! Have they never seen a dance competition before!? This is what happens at every dance competition, it's part of the atmosphere, if you want a homage to dance in a silent room go watch cookies in one of their videos. If you actually go to one of these competitions live, you'll learn just how amazing it is, and how much name dropping can really uplift the performers.
as someone who's been in the foster child system. This performance really hit me and stuck out. and the way they portrayed a child entering an orphanage and being afraid and said and how they all comforted him. that's when the tears fell. as a dancer I've seen many battles and performances, and of all of that this is now my favorite performance.
The final pose is exactly the same pose from the beggining, one thing only changes there's a new orphan... WOW, THIS DANCE IS EVERYTHING! THANKS COOKIES (Sorry if I wrote something wrong, I don't talk english)
Absolutely incredible performance! Thank you Cookies! Personal Highlights: 1:06 - I love how the opening resembles a painting or the beginning of a play. Everyone has a unique pose. 1:35 - The hide and seek moment is adorable. Everyone is so in character. 2:52 - The blankets are used so well to communicate the emotion of this set. One of the many "wow" moments. 3:27 - The hands reaching out from the blankets. The pounding effect on the blankets following the beat of the song. 3:47 - My second big "wow" moment. That blanket toss! 4:10 - Extremely stunning blocking. 5:40 - The blocking, transitions, everything in this sequence is beautiful and heartbreaking. 6:44 - This last sequence, and the choreography throughout this set, is remarkable because you can see the intensity, emotion, and the love of dance in every dancer on the stage.
Agreed with everything you said and one thing I thought was neat was that I almost saw no bucket running. As an aspiring choreographer, one restriction I've placed upon myself was to NEVER use bucket running as a transition since it makes you think creatively of how to transition your sets.
during the very last scene where they are all posing like a painting, and another dancer joins them at the end, does it imply the addition of an orphan everyday? if so, oh my God!! So out of the box, and without an happy ending because the problem is still out there.
pnoipr8 yes! And if you noticed Chris (the new orphan) in his first appearance when it was time for the other kids to go to bed and he was putting on his new shirt, that's the addition of an orphan everyday and another orphan (Kevin) was comforting him
I’ve been a dancer pretty much my whole life. I’ve seen show after show, performance after performance but it’s going to take something unworldly to top this performance! Timeless. Without a doubt the best piece of dance I’ve ever seen!
I agree. And I'm a freestyle battler that rarely enjoys watching group choreography, but something about this feels like more than just a dance piece-- it's theatrical, vocal, somewhat poetic, and yet, I can still see the technique and painful hours of practice within their movements. This performance is truly unbelievable.
What can you say to this?! There really isnt enough adjectives to describe how incredible that was. This team really are the definition of VISIONARY ARTISTS, taking a message and showing the world though the power of dance. I really am lost for words right now.....
the feels..its 2016 and I'm just a 13 year old girl looking at this. I'm so happy and so amazed at what Keone, Marie, and the whole dance crew have created. How is there such thing as this? this is something impossible to do...God Bless the whole crew. I love them so much.
Tazyfay they are very good this reminds me of the kind of dance that Maddie Zeigler is doing now like a jazz funk and she is really good at it in fact Brian voted her and Kaycee one of his best dancers ! They deserved first place I never saw them before but I like it ! Rachel Cole
The girl in the front at 3:31 I love her she's amazing I watched her from the beginning but it's hard to find her throughout some of it.. but my her expression through movement is amazing and she attacks. . This whole piece is just amazing... I literally can't stop watching this it will never get old..
i honestly cried while watching this set. the concept is so surreal i love it and i love how Keone, Mari and Cookies set out to show awareness to those who can't be heard. congrats for winning, you guys definitely deserved it.
we all have different views on every religion out there. im not gonna bash back at you for your opinions. no one needs to believe that there is a god who will work wonders, but we should at least make a difference. who cares what faith you believe in, the problem is that there are children out there who needs the money more than us right now.
I already saw this video couple months ago but when i watch it again, I thought it was just like those normal dance routine seen here in RUclips. I didn't notice when suddenly my tears fall in my eyes. I swear I really did not see that coming. I was really move not by the song but how they interpret the message through there passion on dancing. Hope and wishing to be part of there crew but i'm to far from this dream. Hopefully one day I can see you here in Cebu, Philippines. Cheer The Company.
Each and everyone of them made a difference the second that that performace was put into the world. This Was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The meaning behind ever move and the amount of emotion the dancers put into this, this this was just incredible.

This was a year ago but I only watch t now. I don't understand the emotion that it swept through me, that tears swell in my eyes as I watch these 34 men and women and children dance and I cried. Such a beautiful performance, more than well deserved win! Congratulations Cookies!
The best performance I've seen and one I always come back too. So emotional and powerful, I always tear up. This is the type of art I'll always cherish, one that lifts you and makes you feel alive. Huge props to the choreographer, the performers and everyone else involved with this masterpiece!
So if you have a problem with Christianity and how things are done how about keeping your blood pressure down and staying off of those kinds of pages? Too much like right, huh?
That "FRONT ROW VIEW" is going to have me glued to my computer when they release it... I just can't even imagine how amazing it must have been live. I have much respect for all dancers in Cookies because through out the entire piece they ALL are giving 110% to share with the audience. And you can tell just by their facials, the energy, the love, and their passion for this art. Im watching this on my computer and I got goose bumps. Like C'mon, how performances can do that. I even shed a few tears.. I hope to one day share the stage with Cookies and hopefully dance a long side them in the future. Thank you Cookies for sharing your love from dance with the world :)
This is what we need. We need dance with a message. We all get lost in the hype of other crap going on that no one is thinking about the important issues. It's time for a change, and thank you to Cookies for this. This was beautiful, breathtaking, and emotional. You deserve that 1st place, and you got it. Congrats!
I have watched this dance over and over again for 7 years and never get bored. Cookies is the best dance group I've ever seen You guys are amazing!!! I love you guys!!!
I’ve been rewatching this video for years it al ways brings me so much emotion and I’ve been watching keone and Mari for just as long and JUST TODAY realized that they choreographed this. It really makes so much sense now.
I really like this dance. All the dances that win at competitions have turns and leaps and tricks, but this highlights what the core of dance is about. It brings out the emotion in people to portray a message through movement. I don’t care how many turns you can do, or if you can do a million flips, I want to feel and understand the story you are dancing. Props to them for showing that dance is so much more than people think.
I've cried so many times watch this, their talent is so much more than dance and it's so beautifully choreographed and coordinated Keone and Mari killed it aswell x🙌🏿🙌🏿 Gid has given them soooo much talent
Watching this eight years later, as I have every month since it came out, and it still is the most beautiful piece of art I have ever witnessed in my entire life. This piece helps me get through every day.
this made me cry. thank you, sincerely, thank you for this. God bless your souls and may He continue leading you to bigger platforms to convey your inspired art and message to more people. SALAMAT!
That part at 6:50 is so powerful and intense, it completely took my breath away! This piece is so emotional and meaningful, it is true art and expression. Congrats for the 1st place, and most importantly, thanks for sharing this with all of us!
My all-time favorite choreo. I don't think anything will ever top this piece in my lifetime. In response to what many are complaining about in regards to the audience being loud: I think what a lot of people don't understand is that this is just how the hip hop community is...? Like yeah with other dance styles, it's considered respectful to be quiet through a performance but for hip hop dances and competitions in general, the audience is a huge part of the performance. It's considered rude to NOT scream in support. That means you don't like the performance. Hip hop is a style from the streets. A style from and for the masses. You can't compare it to studio styles.
Such an amazing performance and I was blessed to watch this live. Please understand that while some performances such as ballet or contemporary dances, it is common etiquette to be silent as an audience, this community thrives on the verbal response of the audience. Being on a collegiate dance team, we are taught to cheer on our team mates and other dance teams. We feed off the audience's applause and it makes us perform more passionately. We love hearing the crowd go wild. I agree they could have been silent for the prologue, but during the dance itself, it gives an amazing feeling to the dancers to know that the audience is enjoying the performance. Once again, amazing amazing job Cookies! You will never cease to impress and inspire..
This is such an amazing preformance! I watched this in dance class today and I looked it up right when I got home. Such a beautiful message and such beautiful choreography. It brings out the feels that's for sure!
To those complaining about the audience.

After the fact, yes. But before they even start? Not good form.
I agree!! Dancing is so much more fun when you hear people cheering for you!!
could you imagine being the group that performs after this....

Amos Patiag Holy shit you're right
yeah, I think in one part, they basically threw him in, probably representing of how every minute, someone becomes an orphan. Great, now I'm sad.

I still come back to this performance. It's been 5 years.
I’m here in 2019, and this performance is still my all time favorite 😭💕
I watch this video like once a month. it makes me so happy
I can't help myself I cry everytime I see this video..
Wow 7 years later and it still hits home 😭🧡 so powerful!! The depths that dance as an art form has is ridiculous !! Still in love with this
This is what we need.
Cookies is the best dance group I've ever seen
You guys are amazing!!!
I love you guys!!!
AMAZING! It's more than a competition, it's using our gifts and talents as dancers to raise real issues! Beautiful, Cookies
4 years later and im still watching, im so glad my dance teacher showed me this, i really wouldve stopped dancing if she didnt.
I rarely get emotional over a piece, but this.. This REALLY gets me. Might be one of my new fav performance.
I’ve seen this performance for so many years now and I still can’t help to sob wow best performance I’ve ever seen will forever love this
The worst part is being backstage and realizing you just lost the competition without even performing yet 😂
I’ve been rewatching this video for years it al ways brings me so much emotion and I’ve been watching keone and Mari for just as long and JUST TODAY realized that they choreographed this. It really makes so much sense now.
I know nothing about dance but this made me cry and I loved every second of it.
First time I saw this video was six years ago. Its brilliant. It still makes me cry.
i swear i watch this every year to remind myself why i love dance so much
Sameee
Coming from a dancer, this audience is amazing! They give so much energy
this might just be the most beautiful dance i've ever seen
Agree
Here I am watching this again, I never tire of this, it is so good.
Absolutely AMAZING. Just brilliant. This was the first time *ever* I cried while watching a choreography. And yes, I am an orphan.
song:
1-tuxedo - do it
2-Brother - Matt Corby
As a dancer, this is so incredibly inspiring, and I legit cried like 3 times when I watched this. This is the best dance performance I’ve ever seen fr
I always come back to this video because the choreography, coordination, and story is just breathtaking.

i will never not go back to this video.
First time seeing this video...yeah I shed some tears. Keone and Mari you two are truly amazing
I'll never get over this. It's been years.
That part at 6:50 is so powerful and intense, it completely took my breath away! This piece is so emotional and meaningful, it is true art and expression. Congrats for the 1st place, and most importantly, thanks for sharing this with all of us!
I am a dancer, I literally have shivers, they did it really good, it's talking about a story, AMAZING❤
It’s 2019 and I still keep coming back to re-witness this masterpiece and I guess, it shall be a yearly practice of mine!
My all-time favorite choreo. I don't think anything will ever top this piece in my lifetime.
In response to what many are complaining about in regards to the audience being loud:
I think what a lot of people don't understand is that this is just how the hip hop community is...? Like yeah with other dance styles, it's considered respectful to be quiet through a performance but for hip hop dances and competitions in general, the audience is a huge part of the performance. It's considered rude to NOT scream in support. That means you don't like the performance. Hip hop is a style from the streets. A style from and for the masses. You can't compare it to studio styles.
Hip hop/Urban***
ive watched this about ten times a year every year for 5 years
same loll
Still my favorite dance piece of all time
Such an amazing performance and I was blessed to watch this live.
My moms showed me this when I was 9 and now almost 16 I come back and watch whenever I need the inspiration. This vid really shaped me as a dancer
This is such an amazing preformance! I watched this in dance class today and I looked it up right when I got home. Such a beautiful message and such beautiful choreography. It brings out the feels that's for sure!
