In 1960 I was in the Queens Own Rifles at Calgary. Now I live in Atlantic City, nj. 68 degrees this week...boardwalk, beer and bikinis. The water is 82 f.
Edmonton 1963, 73 below zero...I resigned and hitchhiked south.

73 fahrenheit below zero is about -58ºC. I doubt that.

@@richclarke1523 And the coldest temperature recorded in Edmonton is around -50ºC so how can the temperature be -58ºC in Edmonton in 1963 if the coldest ever recorded temperature is around -50ºC.

@@Tiax776perhaps it's because the Canadian Army recorded temperature, even though an accurate reading, was not done at an official recording facility, such as Edmonton Airport.
I was the radio operator that sent the message regarding the temperature taken by the Canadian Army in the field at Wainwright Alberta.
I think one can assume that an exposed area outside of a city, might be 8 degrees colder than outside an " official" building.

It was official, no wind chill. As O said, search coldest winter recorded, 1963, Alberta.
The official government measure was a bit warmer, but this was the " unofficial" official military recorded temperature. My teeth cracked, it was horrific. Tires broke on jeeps, we had to put kerosene in with motor oil.

Does anyone know how to indicate when exiting a roundabout in Calgary?
For example: 05:54, nobody indicates when exiting.
