You saved me a great deal of agro. Found a pair of torn up boxer shorts and a Chinese (?) coin clogging up the filter. This video was better than the manufacturers' own self-help video for cleaning this out.

What an excellent presentation. So many videos (specially the American ones!) spend an hour telling you fifteen minutes worth of information. This was precise, to the point, educational and above all, useful in saving us lots of call out charges, dirty clothes etc (as of course our machine stopped over the christmas break). Well done, a lot of presenters could usefully study your style. Also it was excellent that you did not stop at unblocking the filter, but you carried on and did other useful work removing calcium and explaining many bits that users do not usually see. This is the difference between a professional who does the job thoroughly and properly, and the fly-by-night who charges £80 for a call out, removes a coin, pockets the money and disappears. Well done. I was a boiler service engineer with a similar work ethic. I would do the 'extra' bits of work to make it run better and longer, and customers would always thank me and recommend me to others. That is the way to run a successful business.

My darling two year old kept putting tiny lego down the detergent dispenser pipe and i knew in time it would cause problems. Last night it stopped draining and the plumber wasnt replying to my requests for help.
Our filter was jammed and wouldnt open so had to go full on in.
I followed your instructions and 90 mins later I had fixed the machine by myself!
The hardest parts were getting the wires detatched from the filter and the tube clip ring things were tricky to get off and on again but I did it!! So proud of myself.
    THANKYOU!

Absolutely brilliant! My engineer is on holiday, so I spent 2 days trying to solve the problem myself (with the help of other video sites). On the verge of giving up, then I found this detailed video. Went back to the machine and solved the problem in just a few minutes (a jammed 2p coin in the hose connecting the drum with the pump unit). Thank you very much!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, a thousand times thank you!
Today with the help of my 15 year old, I was able to remove and clean the stuck pieces of wood skewer and chunk of zip tie (and gross gunk) stuck in the pump/filter. It's been a *hard* few weeks and a broken washer (or the cost of repair) was the last thing I needed, but this video made all the steps totally clear and easy to follow, and my washing machine works again! 🎉
Your explanation was clear, complete while concise, and super helpful, and saved me at least €70 in repair costs. I appreciate you making this excellent video *so* much!

Thank you very much for the video. I have fixed my machine following your video. Thanks and Blessings.
But that is not all, I want to compliment you on the video - it is so well made, each step articulately explained and videographed that different kinds of issues can all be covered in one video. In my case, the debri was stuck above the floater ball and your lucid, poised and accurate explanation gave me the knowledge and courage (yes, courage!) to open it up and give it a shot. You definitely deserve more than a beer from me! Especially in these times when no service mechanic can visit.

I've been having real issues with my machine. I have never technically tinkered with a washing machine before, following this crystal clear video I've removed my pump, found a few tiny things that bipassed the filter so it was inside the pump and caused it to fail. Tested and now fixed. You saved me £90 call out and a new pump. I wouldn't have dared in the past. Top work. Thank you very much.

the LEDs on my "Indesit iwdc 6145" started blinking and it would not drain water. Indesit Customer Service told me they charge 189€ for a diagnosis, so it would be 200€+ with spare Parts. I ended up watching this video and cleaned the pump myself, i found a Aluminium can lid blocking the propeller. After some cleaning and removing the culprit the machine works as good as new. Thank you so much for uploading this video!

I have a Bosch Logixx9. The filter wouldn't open to allow me to fix an E18 code. Your video was wonderfully helpful, straightforward, clear and encouraging. On this model, you get at the pump from the front panel which is fastened by star head screws and pop-clip plastic lugs. Took me some time to figure this out and I was initially daunted when I upended the machine to see no way in from underneath. All went well: hairgrips, bits of old biro, pieces of plastic and a mess of fabric debris. The wonder is not that it blocked but that it worked so well until today!
    Thank you. PB Cambridge

Thank you so much for the video, this is brilliant. I was unable to open my filter, I didn't have a torx screwdriver to get the pump out, but it's a relatively new washing machine.
Unplugged it, flipped it on its back, undid the tube using the pliers, fished out all the crap, seemed to be half a dozen hairpins holding the blockage together.
I used by dyson unblock gadget to fish it all out..... A metal bbq skewer with the end turned using the pliers.
Worked a treat, managed to sort it without removing and parts and without the correct tools thanks to your handy video.
    I owe you a pint

Thank you for your very detailed and expert contribution! Cheers! Additional tip / my 2 cents: a) Always use gloves when manipulating parts, plugs, hoses, etc. inside a metal cabin, otherwise you can easily injure yourself on sharp edges of the housing. b) Do not wear a ring during any of these repairs; it could be damaged \ scratched and you could be injured if the ring gets stuck anywhere.

Excellent vid. Super-clear instructions. I managed to use your guidelines to fix a Siemens IQ700 with a stuck filter cap. It would only turn 90⁰.
Accessing the pump behind the front cover was slightly different; I couldn't figure out how take off the base of the machine, but managed to access the pump by unscrewing the plastic cover behind the filter cover. The blockage was caused by a Magnum ice cream stick and a couple of coins, along with a nice wad of gunk of dubious origin...

Great info. I just fixed my Beko washing machine because of this video!
In my coin trap I found two screws, part of a small plastic bag, a key, a Nintendo DS cartridge, a penny, a length of wire and a nut shell. No wonder I couldn't just unscrew the trap from the front.
What took the most time and effort? Cleaning. When you pull out the washing machine, there will be loads to clean behind it.
Flipping the machine onto its back may be hard, depending on the length of the water in and out pipes. I was constrained quite tightly. The actual trap disassembly/reassembly was comparatively easy, having watched the video twice.
    Thanks!

Thanks Paul. Saved a bundle by watching your vid and following the instructions. Embarassed to say the filter contained a 20p, a 5p, 5 hair slides, a hair band, 2 shirt collar stiffeners and more as well as loads of gunk. I have bought you a Stella so your tutorial cost me £2.75 and two hours labour but left me with a big smile on my face! One thing - I got a bit carried away and turned it on last night and was a bit disappointed that the control wasn't working properly. I think that the electrical connections must have got slightly damp despite my best efforts. However, this morning working fine after two loads. Fingers crossed. Thanks again.

OMG Thanks so much!! I had the exact issue with the filter cap and had given up. Found this video and psyched myself up for it this AM... Took 1hr, No money for me but some foam, lint etc.. and around 10 wooden matches wedged in the main large pipe from the drum! The Beko machine never had easy access to the pump screws (typical) but got there eventually. Machine working so well now. No drainage water left, items removed are not wet. :-D

Great video buddy thanks , I had an eventful day after watching this video haha i haven't cleaned my filter for about a year and it was totally jammed found a 5p coin a 1euro coin a kirby grip and 2 screws, behind all that was a tightly packed ball of hair, all the different colours my partner and 2 daughters have been dying their hair over the last year 😅
got it all cleaned out and put back together, putting the hose back on using mole grips for the clamp, it slipped and a tiny bit of metal shit into the cornea of my eye, so a wee trip to local A&E to get out it, doc says i done the right thing getting it sorted right away alot of people wait a couple of days and its harder to dig out by then, so I'll maybe wear some safety specs next time lol....
Washing machine back in action and BIG shout out to the NHS was in and out within an hour all guidelines in place 💓

Great video, this really helped me get mine sorted.
As a side note, on my BEKO model, the pump can be removed from inside the bottom panel without removing the front, just by twisting. The only tool I needed was a pair of pliers to remove the large circlip, the rest came off by twisting.
    Thanks again!

Brilliant! Mine was turning and jamming before I could completely unscrew it. I just turned it clockwise and anti-clockwise repeatedly without too much force and it did eventually unscrew.
As the man predicted it was jammed with a 5 pence piece! I was surprised there was nothing else in there after 13 years service and I never knew you had to check the pump filter, doh. Will be checking it every year now.

Thank you for taking the time to explain this so clearly. Your advice stopped me from forcing the drain. My husband and I took the machine apart as described (only challenge being that the base of our Bosch machine didn't remove so we had to loosen the front panel to get access to the clips holding the pump in place). Otherwise all good and completed in under an hour. We found 10 coins, 2 kirby grips, an earring and a screw! Made a mental note to check filter regularly (and pockets more thoroughly!). Have subscribed to your Chanel as thanks.

😊😃 Thanks a lot! Our machine is an integrated Siemens Si14•44 , and I didn’t even need to move it. Just removed a front panel for access to the inlet of the pump filter. One coin, one pin of wood and a sticker! (believe it or not, how the h... did it get there?) 🤬 kids!
Less than one hour work, total from fault message to finish (incl. watching the entire film) in the evening saved me for about 3000 norwegian kroner (about 300 US$)! That would (at least) be the charge of a seviceman here in Norway, 1 hour service + driving....
