- A simple but effective scene where Robert(Gregroy Peck) goes home after finding out what has to be done with his son. But he has to avoid a certain nanny's dog.
This scene may not be the most famous one in the film, but it's always been my favorite due to the sheer suspense it creates. And without any dialogue.
Everything you see belongs to 20th Century Fox
This scene is arguably my favorite of the movie. The use of whispered chanting getting increasingly louder as the dog comes down the hallway just had me shivering the first time I saw it.
One of the best and most powerful horror movies!
The whispering chants while the hell hound patrols the hallways of the Thorn mansion are another example of why the real star of this movie IS the soundtrack!
Sanguis bibimus corpus edimus sanguis bibimus corpus edimus...in perfect time with the dog's steps. Masterful.
Yeah, Jerry Goldsmith did a great job! He totally earned that Oscar!
I always wondered what did the chorus said.
What does it means?
@@jonathancruz5932 We drink the blood, we eat the body
@@dutchcountryman1290 That's kind of creepy
@Elizabeththegreatest They knew what they were doing when they made this scene. The chanting getting louder as the dog drew closer and the moment of brief rememberance at the bed before going to finish the job. This is really the best scene for me.
Gregory Peck is just awesome!
You folks might disagree but I always found this movie more frightening and bone chilling than The Exorcist!!!
💯
Oh, totally! The Exorcist, especially with all those bad words, made it hilarious at times. The Omen conveys a much more ominous sense of dread from start to finish. It is heavy duty and is serious business compared to The Exorcist.
You're right, it is effective, all thanks to Mr. Richard Donner, and Mr. Jerry Goldsmith, and of course, Mr. Gregory Peck!
What whispering voices are saying?
Sanguis bibimus = we drink the blood
Corpus edimus = we eat the body
The score is Ave Satani composed by Jerry Goldsmith
The Exorcist doesn't hold a candle to this.
No they are both important movies. The faithful need to watch both and absorb the lessons therein.
Yes it does. Both are great movies in their own right.
Spooky
What's that noise at 0:45? A clock striking midnight or something?
Yep, that's exactly what it was, a clock striking the hour!
@@Elizabeththegreatest Striking a very dark hour, I guess. >;)
