Lighter bikes are actually always great. Maybe exception is for very long road trips (on tarmac). Heavy bikes are cool and all but just not very convenient for very long trips like this.
Consider… the XR650L is only 15 pounds (6.8k) heavier at 346 pounds full of fuel, has vastly more power - especially torque, it pulls hills like a tractor - and its well known proven rock solid simple design remains unchanged since 1993 for good reason. The 650 can be lowered to the 300’s 35” seat height, and accessories (fuel tank, bars, shields, racks, etc) are also each well known, proven, and widely available for the 650. 650 availability in Europe is probably nonexistent, so that pretty much US buyer info.
@@donniebunkerboi9975 as I said above, the XR650L is only 15 pounds heavier than the 300 Rally, which is pretty much nothing, so yea.. bring on the power and torque, especially for riding this kind of terrain loaded down with bags. There are many other subtle advantages for the big bore too; engine doesn’t have to rev as high or work as hard to reach/hold the same speed, nearly zero electronics in the 650 (just one board), stronger frame/suspension (especially the rear, the 300 is too soft for most people and bags), parts are cheap for the 650 and the knowledge base among owners is huge - every single weakness is known and was dealt with years ago, no radiator to damage, no cooling fan blowing hot air on your legs, no emissions system robbing power or clogging.. I could go on and on.. But again, the 650 option really only applies where its available (obviously) and I think Noraly picked the right bike for her home country registration and overall needs… just saying the 300 isnt the best Honda option for the US.

Happy new year Noraly! Thank you for always bringing smiles to our faces and taking us with you in your rides. I look forward to being part of your journey next year, and years to come.

Noraly has shown that, with courage, you can choose a different route in life from the majority. I guess this is why she is so popular, tapping into something many wish they could do but life has given them a different path. I hope I can take a little of her inspiration in the choices about how I live my life.

Happy New Year Noraly 🎉 Really appreciate and admire your hard work to show us your adventure I can imagine long hours you spent, from planning the destinations and the route to take, finding interesting spots along the way, doing research and memorize all the facts about them, preparing logistics for you and your bike, taking the hard roads and tracks while filming it, making drone footages, narating on the spot without the luxury of reading script in comfortable rooms, and finally editing the videos superbly to be uploaded. The results are always amazing, never betraying your hard work. You're simply the best motovlogger by far Noraly Thank you and wish you all the best in the years to come
Thanks again Noraly for your videos. Love you and your adventure - Happy New Year 2022- Love from India, A land from where you started your journey to explore the world- keep it up may god be with you, stay blessed.
What a giggle when getting Alaska ready to ride. Great explanation of a history that was not so golden. Love the helmet hair as a Noraly trade mark of adventure. You are still making up for all the hiking with traveling by bike, but still hiked to the falls to show us the beauty of the area. I think you are really enjoying the extra fuel capacity of Alaska verses Savannah. Cannot wait for the finish of the ride to your destination and the possible surprises on your path. Take care and God bless you.
South America generally, and Ecuador for sure, has a strong motorcycle culture because so many people ride. There is a lot of interest in "exotic" motorcycles like Alaska, and even my Himalayan. Feliz Año Nuevo a Cotacachi!
@@vu3mes Ecuador has a very high import tax, so vehicles and equipment made in China and India are the most common. Chevy has a factory here in Ecuador to make pickups, specifically to avoid that tax.

So nice to have another Capetonian watching Itchy Boots. I have followed Noraly's journey all the way from season 1 and loved it. She is a real special person with so much kindness and grit.
And another "Capie"! Came across Itchy Boots by accident about 6 months ago. Have sometimes binge watched to get throught the whole lot. Now the wife and I watch every new episode as it comes out, in the evenings before the TV session. Gin and Tonic, sliced lemon, ice and Itchy Boots, what more could a couple of 70 odd old fart ex motocyclists wish for. Noraly may your 2022 journey be exciting but safe. love from RSA.
My first experience with a rainforest happened in Costa Rica and I expected to see wildlife and a jungle atmosphere. It tuned out to be cold, wet, and not unlike a typical forest in Canada. I was really underdressed and pretty well froze to death. Columbia was a very interesting country. Huge population and small towns everywhere. Finding a flat area of land was rare. But the people were so engaging and open. Once the mystery you brought with you as to what you were up to was solved they were comfortable. Corruption and danger always seemed to be simmering under the surface.
Amazing to follow you Noraly.Started when you was in Africa and i cant miss a single episode now! Keep it up. I am inspired and will start traveling with my bike next summer. Wish you the greatest 2022 and hope to see A LOT more of your amazing travelling
Go back to all the previous seasonswith the Himalayans and her other Hondas, You will see how her skills have improved over the years, and really it is only 3 years!
Thanks Noraly some beautiful scenery. Zaruma seemed to have a lot of character. Thanks for the history lesson and back ground on what the Spanish did. The Dutch did a lot worse in South Africa and in fact all colonisers looted and plundered and decimated local populations which is why the "developed" countries can live such lavish lifestyles today. So here's to looking forward to a brighter future and all the best in 2022. Cheers and safe riding.
This has nothing to do with the way we live in the west today, your conclusion is false. We in the west work hard for our lifestyles and it has nothing at all to do with what a select few did in the past.
Even more spectacular than yesterday. So beautiful. Hopefully 2022 will treat the people of the world with more kindness than the year past. Your interactions with everyone you meet, and the environment you travel through, is so positive and inspiring. You continue bring a lot of light to that world, and all of ours. Happy trails..
Europeans, watch out, it all depends on the perspectice: "Here in Ecuador Alaska is a big bike" Thanks for your amazing travels and taking us with you, Günter from Nürnberg/Germany
Thank you for the reflections on gold extraction and its general effect on localities where it has been found. Your presentations are generally infectiously cheerful, but sometimes it's worth letting reality prick the conscience. I hope 2022 brings you more adventures and that you bring all of them to us.

Yeah power torque power torque LOL. Totally missed the point about being heavy.
The other reason for a small bike is the cost of fuel. Very few locals will have anything larger then a 250.

So far, the Itchy Boots videos had nearly everything! Humour, adventure, biology, geology, racing, all kinds of thrills, you name it.
On behalf of the two dogs, the channel now is complete. 🤣🤣🤣 Eroticism? Checked!
I wish I were only half the optimist Mr. Doggo is! 🥳
Happy new year y'all! 🤗

Happy New Year Noraly 🎉
Really appreciate and admire your hard work to show us your adventure
I can imagine long hours you spent, from planning the destinations and the route to take, finding interesting spots along the way, doing research and memorize all the facts about them, preparing logistics for you and your bike, taking the hard roads and tracks while filming it, making drone footages, narating on the spot without the luxury of reading script in comfortable rooms, and finally editing the videos superbly to be uploaded.
The results are always amazing, never betraying your hard work.
You're simply the best motovlogger by far Noraly
Thank you and wish you all the best in the years to come
Thanks again Noraly for your videos. You don't only show places, but teach us about those places, the human activities, the history, etc. Everything accompanied by nice and relaxing music you choose, your warm, sympathy and beauty. My best wishes for you, for Alaska and your travels for this year 2022.

Noraly, expedicionaria intercultural, naturalista, llena de carisma. DIOS TE BENDIGA SIEMPRE
THAT DOG!!!!!!!! Omygod insane madness!
South America generally, and Ecuador for sure, has a strong motorcycle culture because so many people ride. There is a lot of interest in "exotic" motorcycles like Alaska, and even my Himalayan. Feliz Año Nuevo a Cotacachi!
I've seen a few unusual bikes there. A CR500 in Guayaquil. A BMW K1600. A GS in Cuenca, unusual for Ecuador anyway. Even a couple of Harleys.
Himalayan...RE there you are. I was astonished to see a Mahindra pick up in one of her videos. So far away from INDIA..
@@vu3mes Ecuador has a very high import tax, so vehicles and equipment made in China and India are the most common. Chevy has a factory here in Ecuador to make pickups, specifically to avoid that tax.
@@davidc1961utube thanks for the information. Happy new year 🎈🎈🎈
I, and many others have enjoyed your Itchy Boots videos for years now. 2022 will be the year that you reach 1,000,000 subscribers; wishing you, and the world the best for this new year!
Over one and a half million subscribers, before the end of 2022.
Happy New Year. Your channel has helped me through the last 22 months after a major operation. Bike accident 12 months before that and this coving thing!! For us all.
Stay safe
Very good Noraly ! Supergood ! Thank you.
Happy New Year, Noraly! Wishing you continued joy in your adventures!!!
More of nice roads, riding, laughs and scenery. Thanx.
It must be stressful leaving your bike with all your stuff on it, to get the shots of the waterfalls, it’s appreciated though. The videos you put out are always awesome! Happy New Year !
Here in the US it would be gone as soon as you turned your back including the bike. When you get to the US be very careful. Happy New Year. Feliz Ano Nuevo.
Thanks for showing places that we will never able to visit, most of all thank you for teaching us the different places of the earth.. Take care itchy boots..
It's not just the goggles that's changed since the rally ha ha, your traveling faster now ! Good to see your improvement. Happy nu yr from NZ.
Your water-crossings are always exciting and full of suspense .. i love your can-do-attitude !!!
Hi Noraly it’s New Years Eve here in Cape Town so here’s wishing you a fantastic ride and lots of luck for 2022 👍💞💞💞😷🇿🇦🌍
So nice to have another Capetonian watching Itchy Boots.
Wish you all the best for 2022 Noraly! In first place health and joy to take your journeys forward!! 👱♀️🏍
I'm so glad I found this channel. It has become my favorite!!!🙂

Go back to all the previous seasonswith the Himalayans and her other Hondas, You will see how her skills have improved over the years, and really it is only 3 years!
Gracias por llevarnos de viaje en tus vídeos Noraly y que tengas un FELIZ 2022 en ruta hacia Alaska.
Saludos desde 🇨🇱👍✌
Europeans, watch out, it all depends on the perspectice: "Here in Ecuador Alaska is a big bike"
Thanks for your amazing travels and taking us with you, Günter from Nürnberg/Germany
Noraly thank you for showing us this incredible scenery.
Thank you for the reflections on gold extraction and its general effect on localities where it has been found. Your presentations are generally infectiously cheerful, but sometimes it's worth letting reality prick the conscience.
I hope 2022 brings you more adventures and that you bring all of them to us.
That dog is the determination im going into 2022 with. Conquer anything no matter the size it is
Happy New Year Noraly. The bird is a oropendola. Did you know that you can see over 1600 bird species in Ecuador
grazie per farmi vedere tutti questi bei posti 🤗🤗😊😊
Feliz 2022, muitas aventuras!!! Saúde e paz sempre!!!!
gracias por recorrer mi país.
