      Can you run this loco just with the sound file on without the steam generator I was told you have to run it all the time with the steam generator.What happens when the steam generator runs out of water is there a cut off to stop the loco running with the steam generator on any idea thanks in advance ????

    • @modeloco
      @modeloco  7 месяцев назад +2

      @@andrewmeah3082 It runs with or without steam or water in it. The sound and loco operates just as any one of the others with the TXS sound decoders in. All good. As the water is used up the steam will Peter out that’s all and that’s how you want it before longer storage or maintenance work 👍

      It comes fitted with a Bluetooth sound decoder but, once set up and addressed via the free HMDCC app, don’t see why not. You’ll need a compatible gadget of course. Thank you ever so much Paul. I did film it all in 4K but, see my other latest videos. For some unbeknown reason Apple, wouldn’t let me render in 4k for this one. Maybe my cam settings slipped for some bits, not really sure. That was disappointing but, found it looked okay tbh on iPhone, iPad and my 54” screen that really shows that sort of thing up. Maybe check your playback settings too as a slow internet can render down quality 🙏

      It only struggled on the incline which, at steepest point is 2.35 degrees with over 4 coaches but, the compromise made probably by having a steam generator fitted is definitely worth it for me and don’t have massive lengths of station planned so, fits in well 👍

      You probably have the same as me a 14 Pro Max. Sadly you can never get the quality with a phone no matter what the blurb says. In my opinions phones are a waste of time for high quality videos no matter what apple say. What you need to remember is a lot of people watch Model railway stuff on their large smart tv. When you watch phone videos on this it is wanting big time. I enjoyed the editing and the camera videoing the loco in steam from the front. I did look into doing this, however the price of the GoPro to do this in any kind of quality is just not viable in my view. I will have a look at a later video right now

      @@PaulBriden Got a 15 and yes it’s probably the cab camera setting that slipped back from 4K in all the tasks being done at once. I’ve studied cameras no end and most suffer from cropping in 4K, then Apple doesn’t always like the formats they use with most being more windows friendly like Sony and on top audio issues being always slightly out of sync. Finally the bigger Panasonic ones that seem great are still quite expensive big units to get into more awkward spots

    • @PaulBriden
      @PaulBriden 7 месяцев назад +1

      It takes a lot of skill in editing to get the sync right. That is the bigger skill. I use Panasonic cameras. You are correct there is only a certain you can crop and then you get too much noise in a video. Hence why in this video I am using two cameras, I try to zoom on the target post edit it looks tripe. I can link the cameras using the phone as a control unit or have one camera as master and the other a slave. The issue is unless you have excellent internet their is lag, not an issue indoors, however, the problem is the quality is 1080HD. You can see the camera just below the target. The trick is not to shoot the camera. ruclips.net/video/GHy93AT_KpI/видео.htmlsi=EN7wTrnZoZzmLzU4@@modeloco

      Thank you 🙏 Up an incline and round bends that are unrealistically steep and acute but, we compromise to enjoy the scale that is compromised too to fit on HO track and all into the limited spaces we find ourselves in where imagination could fill a football pitch if, allowed. That same imagination can also make a cardboard box become a tank as a child and allow me to enjoy those compromises made today. C’mon Robert you can enjoy this amazing innovation too in the same way surely 👍
