Di dalam hadis sahih telah disebutkan bahwa Rasulullah Saw. dalam khotbahnya di Gadir Khum (nama sebuah mata air) telah bersabda: "إِنِّي تَارِكٌ فِيكُمُ الثَّقَلَيْنِ: كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَعِتْرَتِي، وَإِنَّهُمَا لَمْ يَفْتَرِقَا حَتَّى يَرِدَا عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ" Sesungguhnya aku menitipkan kepada kalian dua perkara yang berat, yaitu Kitabullah dan keturunanku (ahli baitku), dan sesungguhnya keduanya tidak dapat dipisahkan sebelum keduanya sampai di telaga (ku).
The Messenger(S)said: "Capture knowledge." (It was...) said, "What is its capturing?" He said, "Its writing down." Al-Hakim, Bihar al-anwar. TheProphet (s):"I am leaving behind [...] the Book of Allah and my [...AhlulBayt] As long as you hold on to them you will not be misguided." The Prophet (S):"There is nothing that brings you nearer to paradise and takes you farther from hell but that I have commanded it to you..."
And Allah only wishes to remove all abomination from you, ye members of the Family, and to make you pure and spotless. (QS. 33:33) That is (the Bounty) whereof Allah gives Glad Tidings to His Servants who believe and do righteous deeds. Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this except the love of those near of kin." And if any one earns any good, We shall give him an increase of good in respect thereof: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready to appreciate (service). (QS. Ash-Shura: 23)
