nice, i worked with it a few days now and with more complex setups, it would help to be able to render more sequences at once. like "savers" in black magic fusion. als savers save when you hit export. every saver node to its destination. so you can go for a walk in corona world and let all sequences be created. if not at once maybe serialized. maybe thats all not possible with realtime?
Hey guys, good tutorial, but I having some problems when exporting the vdb to maya with the scaling, so dont know if I have to tweak something else on the emergen, I have the scale set up in centimeters and 0.002
Hi JangaFX team, I recently exported a VDB sequence to cinema4d and rendered with Octane. The Problem is, the VDB density is not high and looks low res compared to the flames in the Embergen renderer. Can you help?
Just tested it, works fine. When you've imported your VDB sequence in C4D, click the 'fire' button in the 'medium' tab or set it up manually by going into the Volume Medium tab and adding a Texture Emission and a Volume Gradient. Then the rest is just art direction by changing settings to suit
You need to use the volume medium, absorption, scattering, emission (texture emission) and emission ramp (volume gradient) in the VDB. you'll need to shade the fire/smoke yourself. www.aoktar.com/octane/OCTANE%20HELP%20MANUAL.html?Fire.html
Hi guys! Great work on this Software! I'm having a problem importing my exported embergen VDB files to Blender. when I Adjust the black body it becomes solid white. When I did the same on the VDB example files (embergen mid air explosion) it work nicely and the flames shows correctly. What am I missing?
Make sure your blackbody parameter itself isn't a value over 1. Otherwise, might want to look into the blender forums? If it's completely white, that might mean it's oversaturated.
What about interaction with the scene...it’s cool that you can get these results but it’s quite useless atm if there’s no interaction with external geometry once I export it. Is this possible currently? Can you import scene as collision objects?
This is a known issue, only thing you can do for now is scale it to line it up by eye. It'll be fixed with our next update when we have a proper scaling system.
@@dasnico13 Any news on this? importing a mesh sets it to 0,5 scale, is that a reason for that or should we put it to 1? anyways it doesn't match the VDB when exporting and bring it back into max. Anything to recommend?
Capture node > click the plus sign > add a render combined from dropdown > pull off R channel node and spawn an export image > plug in rest of channels to RGBA > set your frame count up for what you want to export > Put in your file name by clicking the white folder > click image sequence checkbox > export now.
Very cool tool this is the future man

Hi Nick , is it possible to import VDB ? Also it is possible to stop simulation and have camera fly around ?

Having a similar issue in Blender... Looks better in the Embergen viewport than in the final render haha
@@Demphster54321 just add some numbers to the density field thats all
I seem to only be exporting the smoke and not the fire? Am I missing a setting? I am exporting vdbs into c4d rendering with octane

I could send you the C4D file if that would help. Let me know.

What happened to the compression option?
Theres nothing in V 1.0.1
We ditched the official VDB library and wrote our own. Compression will be back when we can get to it 👍

Yes, its happen to me.
Only working when i use export flames.
Would be nice to get some updated tutorials JangaFX, that shows new UI etc
Last week we hired a new team member specifically for tutorials. Their entire and only job is to create tutorials. They're coming :)
Awesome! Thank you! Just purchased Embergen and its amazing!! @@jangafx

You can indeed import a scene if you would like in OBJ or FBX formats. Static meshes only at this time, but we're working on animated meshes.
Is there any way to export the collider ? I need to figure out how to position it in Blender.
Not yet. We have plans to fix scaling/collider/mesh issues early next year.
can we have a fully functional plugin for 3ds max and render with octane? Phoenix is nice but we have to wait for calculations
With EmberGenFX (Octane version), it'll be integrated into 3DS max.
when exporting vdb, the scale and position are not correct in 3ds max nor Blender
This is a known issue, only thing you can do for now is scale it to line it up by eye. It'll be fixed with our next update when we have a proper scaling system.

@@NicoKnudsen they are working on it. No solution yet. for me there is really no point in using this tech at the moment.
How to just export the png image sequence but only the simulation not with the checckerboard Ground etc...

@@jangafx Thank you sir. Works nicely.
I thought there was going to be a density control for the export of VDB's?
The density you spawn within the simulation controls the density in your VDB.
I would instantly buy a shader that makes the embergen vdbs look good in blender. Its a bit of a pain to make them look decent
pls tutorial how to import embergen to c4d/octane...? i try but looks very weird... :(
me too, I dont get any fire or even the color after I import it in
this doesnt work anymore. please tale this offline

hi i have a problem
when i click the exe file the cmd says"failed to create opengl context"
Right click the EXE and tell it to use your high performance Graphics card
