Great review, thanks! I love the small f2 Fuji primes for street stuff. But I do notice that the new f1.4 ones do offer significantly better image quality in terms of sharpness, aberrations and general rendering. However I wouldn't say one is better than the other. They are different tools for different situations.
The single lens I use most often. Certainly sharp, fast enough in more than 95% of cases, small, light, unobtrusive. Can't imaging just how I'd do most of the things I do without it. It's not for macro work, or for sports, but that's obvious. For the price it has to be one of the best value, most versatile lenses in the Fuji system. I actually think that if Fuji parcelled this lens as the "kit" with X cameras they would sell a lot more. The f 23 retails in the UK for 60% of the cost of the f 18-55
I converted my Xe2 to infrared and my 23 f2 lives on that camera. It has virtually no hot spot which is a problem with may lenses when doing infrared. I have a 23mm f1.4 on my Xe3, and I call that my poor man's Leica Q2.
Yeah I know the focus hunting is bad with this one. It was my X-H1 but don't remember the lens. It only happened on a few videos then I adjusted how I shoot. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!
@@lumilikha The continuous AF for video on the X-T4 is much better. With my X-H1 I just prefocus now and don't worry about AF but with the X-T4 I can utilize Continuous AF if I choose too. I bounce between the 23mm f2, 35mm f2 and 16mm 2.8 for my video lenses right now. It just depends on the day.
Great review Craig. I've thought about something wider. Thr f2 looks pretty crisp.
Thanks for sharing!
Of Course! Thank you for watching and for your kind words!

Oh for sure! The new 1.4s are fantastic. It’s good we have solid choices
I enjoyed this review. Thank you 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Good! I’m happy you liked it! Thank you so much for watching and for the kind words. 🙏🏼

That's a great idea, having them package it with cameras as a kit lens. And I agree with you, it's an amazing value.
The 23mm f2 is just about all I use on my X-E2.
Awesome! I'v definitely enjoyed that same combo recently.
Great review, I wonder how this holds up compared to the 23mm viltrox I’ve used :)
Great question! I'm curious too. I should try to get my hands on one of those soon. I hear good things about them. Thank you for watching!
I Really Like the Results at the End of the Video
Thanks Fabian! Sorry for the late response for some reason this comment was hiding in “held for review”. I always appreciate your support 🙏🏼🙌🏼
@@CraigBergonzoni no problem 😉

Haha everything is pretty much a 'poor mans' thing next to a Leica!
That's awesome! Both sound like pretty great setups.
What body/lens are you using to record this video? The focus is breathing/jumping. =/

@@CraigBergonzoni that's great that you have solved the problem. =) What's the current setup now? Is the lens control better with X-T4?
