Still looking for the one story fantasy, where humans were banished by the other races through a contract, and they came back as a lawyer through a summoning circle at a magic university
A Peculiar Contract by u/ludomastro
@@corvoattano5612 thank you so much
I had the same problem trying to find the story we’re aliens invade Human controlled Planets and have FTL ships but still use single shot muzzle loading Muskets with 4 shots a minute while humans used Tanks, MG, and AR took me forever to find that one only found it 2 days ago it’s called The Terran Incident o and the aliens wear Bright blue uniforms thanks to another person was able to find a different story series that is interesting with Steampunk rifles aliens use it is called Operation Snow Eagle
I thought that was a joke in another story. It was a passing remark from a demon that was summoned said that devils don't talk to humans because of human lawyer.
That’s another one and I like both of those stories
Temporal warfare definitely belongs in the Geneva conventions.
The Malevolent Universe doesn't like it when you mess around with Time.
She spent a lot of effort putting those events in order.
Go messing with or changing them and you get her answer.
The worst possible outcome.
@@brendamayfuller8803 And the Universe laughed, Behold Humanity.
The united states never signed the geneva convention
Orbiting silently around the dead world a cloaked behemoth waited. It watched motionless as the small vessel charged up its drives and zipped into hyperspace. As the ship left the empty space the behemoth powered up: it’s massive engines activated, shining light into the empty void, it’s weapons spun as it shook of the interstellar dust that had built up over those long cycles. Lastly a faint glow started to emanate from the side of the behemoth, a name, the name read simply as follows “ *Unbridled Retribution* “. The behemoth lurched forward into hyperspace, returning to an ancient home it had left so long ago.
Reminded me more of that other story "the ghost" or was it called "the ghost ship" bael I think its name was... scary ai but it had a humans heart...
Niiiiiiiiiice.
If it did I'd assume it may of made the planet truly turn into a tomb world by letting whatever black magic finally release
Plot twist.
Humans can't do any of that. But they can put on one hell of a stage production.
Psyops : Take a barren planet, build a building housing the dead body of a member of a species that is at stone age level, and put a program that abuses the translator to force the translation.
No business like show business.
i love this idea
I love that idea.
Humanity is weak as fuck, but they managed to Bluff every other alien civilization so effectively, that the mere mention of Humanity forces them to surrender.
@@ReptillianStrike So basically humans are that one really charismatic pilot from every space movie?
There is a reason they are called Human Rights.

@@davidwebb4167 ok?🤨 AveImperium, AveSapien
Excuse me, but you dropped your crusade good sir
A temporal dimension canon nicely done
Pretty good story really makes one see why we have these rules for warfare simply cause the damage would be to great id also aasume the glow from the tomb world may of been those cloaked dreadnoughts based on how they acted though i assume full auto and the world reasom i assume glow was the ships because just a small bit for a single building wouldnt keep life with out a sun unless there still in the system that was destroyed but well that temporal bomb made time and space so distorted it basically destroyed the system
Thank you for the reading
Why do people keep spreading this misinformation? The HAGUE CONVENTIONS were the ones that established permissible weapons, tactic, and targets for war! The Hague Conventions defined most war crimes. The Geneva Conventions dealt primarily with the treatment of prisoners!

Hi

Hola
"You asked for it" is a wonderful name for a warship. "The gloves are off" is another great name.
You done goofed, now you've done it, now you find out, the horns, you played with fire, pick a god and pray.
The: Fuck You Then, I’m Done With Your Shit
The SS Y.a.f.i.
Though I prefer the SS Y.f.a.f.i.
The ss "mistakes where made" is also good
Okay but the sheer image of a giant spaceship eclipsing the sun, as reality cracks spread from it, in each shattered piece reflecting a different timeline IS IN FACT A BADASS IMAGE
They got off light. There are worse punishments. A return to primitivism ,with no memory, is not so bad. With memory is worse. To know the heights you have fallen from.
a return to primitivism with broken memory, and made to worship Humans as wrathful, hateful gods who herald doom, destruction, and plagues. A total distortion of the memory of a fall from grace into a primitive religion--and all done not just to spite those who struck first, but *To Set An Example* for the other races why humanity should not be tested.
That could be one such punishment, though those punished wouldn't truly be able to percieve it that well. The galaxy at large would be seeing it as an example of Terran Wrath, and what they'll do to anyone who wants to F. A. F. O.
It is an easier punishment. At the very least if they ever return to the stars or are uplifted, the technological gap would be too great for them to be a threat.
Also it gives the chance for your species redemption. Have a second chance at space with more peaceful intentions. Also time heals wounds. The people who suffered from that species evil will probably be dead and that history possibility forgotten and forgiven. (Unless life extension is a thing or they naturally live that long.) And since there is no memory on the other end, there's not much reason to ask for vengeance.
Was just about to comment the same thing. They got off light.
Oh they retained memory. Nothing was said about imposing a mind wipe on the survivors - just the total destruction of anything manufactured. Therefore the survivors would remember, as well as their descendants if they chose the oral tradition. That would be the broken memory, leading eventually to having humanity in their religions as fact found its way into legend.
Be more interesting if the aliens who found the message did a DNA test on the alien they found. Finding it close enough to be an ancestor. And they had already started pirating the humans again. Give them a real good scare.
Humanity as soon as Xenos start killing innocents:
“What a shame, they do not value their lives. We shall aid them in their extinction.”
Write it down as "natural selection"
Aliens kil innocents:
Humanity: "I hereby sign th death warrant of an entire world and consign a million souls to oblivion"
This feels like the same energy as "Geneva suggestions."
Geneva Checklist is more threatening
because Geneva Suggestion implies that we're not abiding by them strictly
but Geneva Checklist means we're *definitely going* to commit atrocities
It is the same
@@adrienlibert960 isn't it stronger?
"Checklist" implies that you do all of it and tick it off.
"Suggestions" just implies that everything is considered.
I liked it. No false point of view. A novel scenario. While true to HFY so you knew what was coming in the end, I didn't know how they were going to get there.
Pretty sure if humans are still around than everyone will be like oh those messages? yeah mate we already know not to F with the humans what else is new?
It would have been amazing if they ended with them saying that the emperor looked a look like their ancestors
While it is a work of fiction, this actually demonstrates a great example of why you should make it clear you have the ability to wage war better before war is even started.
If one of those super ships had been the first diplomatic response few if any would have died.
Perhaps. There are a few problems. One being that because showing your strength can be a good idea there will be those that make a false show of strength to fake being more dangerous than they are. Which in turn means some will believe even a true show of strength is faked.
Another aspect is that you don't really want to let anyone have an accurate measure of your power, as then they can either know for sure they are stronger or plan around your advantage. Your foe's uncertainty is nearly always going to be to your benefit.
Well geneva suggestion geneva checklist what's the difference?
Semantics am I right?
Well suggestion is more of a "you could do all that stuff here". Checklist is "DO all of this"
Geneva Bingo night.
To paraphrase a certain Doctor: Good men (species) don't need rules. Pray that you never find out why I (humanity) have so many.

An excellent tale. Thoroughly enjoyed this.
I am looking for a story and canz find it, could somebody help? Maybe even say the name if known. I am looking on reddit and it is not a video but should be. It had a start like NHS but the entire world was transferred to a fantas, world where once didcovered zhey had no magic they were started to be killed out and enslaved. It was a losing battle and a dwarf archmage came to their final stronghold. He almost defeated humanity but a travking device was put on him and he was killed by a massive barrage of missiles, guns, a orbital super-laser and a cannon that shot rodsof tungsten. The dwarf was killed. Does anybody know the story? Its name maybe? I read it like 20 days ago. Even if you dont find it, thanks.
It's not the Geneva conventions it's the Geneva checklist
Trying to decide if the story would be enhanced with a revelation that the Narrator is the same race as the beings listening, or if that would diminish the story.
I just assumed at least one of the crew here is. But they have no way of knowing. And evolution means they look different enough that there's only a suggestion of relation.
That said, it implies only around tens of thousands of years have passed, which may not have been enough for any seeded populations to redevelop technology, especially because it is stated that those seedings only would happen if the survivors didn't do anything too terrible.
It's also strange that the beacon left behind is so easily forgotten. Makes me wonder if humanity intentionally tried to get rid of their monument. This is a tragedy on all sides after all. Yes, the aliens did great evils, but genocide is an evil too - even if some of the population is kept alive.
@@tangentfox4677 author here, the humanity they know is an offshoot colony rather than humanity's home stomping grounds. this planet (there's more than one) was sent ahead of colonists
@@videoman468 hello! Though the real question to me is why was the defensive temporal warp such a bad thing?
@greywolf9783 Hello, bit of a cliche but it's considered temporal warfare (or could progress towards it) and that has the potential to be far more damaging that conventional warfare, wars are terrible but if a race develops tech to fully alter time enough they could potentially remove entire races from existence by, for example, sending a couple thousand nuclear devices back in time to turn their enemies homewards to a catered husk before life even began there.
Hello all

*BUT EVEN THEN, I launched our TRULY final defensive weapon, a most heinous thing, nanites that implanted themselves into the minds of every sentient creature within our half of the galaxy. It FORCED the victims to play out a quick time event where they had to kill a cute heckin' doggo biting them before cutting away to the next scene where we experience life as that doggo's owner loving the adorable kind hearted creature... And the humans... (pissed pants) the... the humans said... (shits self) "The Game of the Year Edition has gone platinum."*
...
*"BUT EVEN SO, I-"*
Humanity in this story was responsible for every loss of life they suffered, they sacrificed their own to make some vague point about war crimes and then didn't even bother to broadcast it to the rest of the galaxy properly and are now back to square one. If they were proactive they could have saved billions, maybe even trillions, but noooooo they needed to drop stupid one liners then commit genocide and torture someone telling them it was his fault when they never once bothered making a decapitation strike..
Escalation of force:
"Please stop, I'm asking very politely."
"No."
"Welp, genocide it is."
@@shanerooney7288 Except the humans just sat around waiting for their enemy to escalate things in multiple phases instead of stopping the escalation via their unmatched miracle weapons, at a certain point it's their fault and that point came early on.

Your readings are always good but these stories are gibberish.
What, pray tell, is gibberish about it?
@@someoneawesome8717 The story is clumsily written and the premise is, by this point, the same thing as almost every other Humans are Space Orcs story. It's just a writer jerking off over how hypothetically awesome humans are. Its describing things about humanity that make humanity special, however, there is no reason any other species could not have achieved something similar. Nothing depicted is specifically unique to humanity.
In laymen's terms, it's just not a very good story. It's a rehashed, re-baked repeat of almost every other story in this genre before it. There is nothing new or interesting here. It's just more aliens who are somehow ignorant about how awesome the seemingly peaceful humans are. It's all the tropes and little substance to hold my attention.
Stuff like Lablonamenadon, Space Trucker, Human Tenacity, the Human Catastrophe and When Deathworlders Meet are good not because of the premise. Humanity being equivalent to space orcs is an interesting and refreshing concept, to be sure. They're good because they are well written and don't just lean on the tropes of the genre.
