As an auto adjuster for USAA, this situation is common, and we automatically put a fraud alert and submit for investigation . you wouldn’t believe how many claims I’ve worked were people claimed to have left thousands of dollars and designer items in their cars and it’s all a lie, but can not supply documentation that they actually own the designer items ..most people don’t know you can’t even file this in your auto policy, you have to file it with your home owners insurance. Most cases it’s denied.
