Man of War should have been on OK Computer in my opinion. So great
not if they made it 20 years later.
@@killerjg If they made it 20 years later how did they play it live in 1995?
@@killerjgwhat are you tweeking on 😭
And lift
Meeting In The Aisle is definitely my favorite on here. I love the atmosphere! It's also kind of cool as a bridge from the OK Computer era to Kid A
People sleep on Lift. I'll leave the interpretations up to you but that song is so appropriately titled.
Tracks 1-3 were previously unreleased, they totally sound like The Bends era. The rest of the tracks were b sides for the OK Computer era. Tracks 5-10 were part of the Airbag / How Am I Driving EP which is a personal favorite of mine.
Nice! Man you really need to listen to Thom's solo stuff, I suggest you start with the eraser!
I remember seeing the EP single for Airbag called "How Am I Driving" like a year or 2 after OK Coputer came out and bought it on cassette, it was Airbag plus all those traks (except the first 3 which they released only once they did OKNOTOK (and "Mon of War" is a bigtime grower and "Lift" might have been an actual radio level song for them - the chorus gets more and more infectious) but getting back to the B-Side cassette back in 1998, I played it driving around the mountains around Blacksburg, VA with a pipe in my lap for a whole Summer and they sank in and had me so hyped for OK Computer part 2 - and then... as we all know .... um, "Kid A". I've come full circle and love Kid A now - but while yes no doubt these songs aren't worthy of the main album which is well pretty much perfect, the little electronica instrumental, and more Bends sounding stuff - I loved it in the end. To me it was like their next album or a taste while we waited. Man, the B-Sides to "The Bends" are seriously really excellent - I had a 2 disc import with all of it but now you have to play all the singles of that era - just check out "Talk Show Host" and see if you are intrigued - if for nothing else it is one of their all time best tracks and deserves a listen for that full RH experience. Now we wait for whatever will be on this mystery Kid Amnesia disc, Thom and Johnny's savage set as "The Smile" at Glastonbury of all new material they wrote out of the blue (it is a little hard to find but can be found online - the one take 9 song performance is incredible), and of course LP10.
The last song is just Thom recording himself at his piano, if you listen you can hear his then wife in the background making dinner...
more radiohead more radiohead in my veins ahhh it feels so good the rush i need more moree
A lot of Radiohead's B-sides are absolutely amazing. I would not hold them in less regard simply because they were left off a particular album.
There is another version of lift that's quite a bit harder hitting in my opinion. You can get it searching on RUclips
Pinkpop?
@@_lambert_1785 nah second studio version
Thanks for the video again. Lift is my favorite.
They have some really stellar b-sides and you have to remember what a lunatic Thom can be often the songs are not part of the album because they did not fit with the theme or flow of the record not because they were not good enough to release. Amnesiac probably has the coolest b-sides but listen the King of Limbs b-sides they are better than half the album and that is saying a lot because I really like that album.
Com Lag (2plus2isfive) is my fav Radiohead bside collection. Check it out, especially Gagging Order and Fog (again)
hey dave, on lull-also my fav. extra track [& pearly], part of it that sounds familiar is from andrew gold-lonely boy; thanks for pointing that out to start w/. love your reactions; thankyou for your awesome/cool views. i'll check out blond; i luv most radiohead lps; my favs are: the 2nd/3rd/in rainbows. do u play i.e. bass? world party-is it like today: good song. you were having potatoes? :) hilarious yur cat moved across yur vid :)
Lift could have been a huge hit back then. Check out the Minidisc version.
Im gonna comment that you should listen to Thom's solo stuff every video until you do HAHAHAHA
His wife rachel doing the dishes on how i made my millions.
Love Pearly, should have made the album.
Floex - Zorya
I really want a reaction on this album.
just to get you interested i could say the first song sounds like a lovechild of Radiohead - Daydreaming, and Aphex Twin - Vorhosbn
The original studio mix of Lift is the best song in my opinion. The one they released is not the song at its full potential.
After kid A/Amnesic I didn't rate Hail to the Thief and moved onto Sigur Ros and fell fully into them!
If you like Frank Ocean, check out Jeff Buckley - Grace or Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.
You Should check out the new releases from little simz and Injury reserve! :)
already listened. definitely some of the best albums of this year!
The next video plz be a Kendama mama unboxing
Love u:)
Bro please could you do classic album by The Smiths - S/T
Gorillaz Demon Days♡
You're so naive it hurts! The songs were released on CD singles, something by the sounds of it you don't know what they are cause your like 20. Also released on an EP called Airbag: How Am I Driving?
Just because songs aren't on an album, doesn't mean they're automatically not good enough, don't be so pesimistic before listening. Radiohead don't put songs on albums like oasis or your average band that just chuck on whatever they've recorded. Hence why Nude, True Love Waits, motion Picture Soundtrack et cetera don't make albums straight away.
thanks for the kind comment!
