Yeah Scott! The coolest part was when you were skiing Olympic Lady and said yeah MC. That was twenty years ago when that happened. My friend Dave and I found him that day. That was the worst day of my life. He was a good dude. ❤❤❤
I was patrolling at squaw that day and had a bad injury on granite at the same time. I remember listening to what was happening and thinking my patient was luck only have a broken leg.
Crazy edit. Squaw is a crazy place with crazy skiers but don't lose track of the fact that this is great skiing and a great edit. Stay out there and stay young.
Who the hell is this guy? He's a bad ass. so fun to watch. I was in Squaw last year twice. I built up the courage to hit the diving boards. I didn't land it so good. This guy made it look like dropping off a mogul. Where the hell was everyone? How was he still scoring powder runs on lap 10? I'm a little jealous after watching this. Great video!
He's a 55 year-old who kinda knows the mountain real well after many years here and played the staggered opening game well this particular day! There were many people here that day, trust me. Just gotta beat them to the good stuff (and not line pause)!
I get you confused with Robb despite treasuring my copy of the legendary Squ... uhh Pallywood book, and now there's another Gaffney skiing? I just read your message about your brother, RIP. Enjoy the mountains, and thanks.
7:55 Aye yi yi, first the 2-second drop, and then heading right into the trees at 90 mph, then the skid at 8:05 where your downhill ski slips out and you're riding the uphill ski for dear life, I almost had a panic attack just watching. Amazing!!!
As a connesuer of racing quality hot wax jobs, the sound of coreshots at 4:14 was killing me. 😂 To each their own. Way to set the mountain on fire Scott. You sure make it look easy.
Sick lines I loved the hop turn on the rocks early on and rolling down the windows on a big jmo with the sun casting a shadow at about 430. Then clanking your skis before the last untracked line. Muchos cajones mi amigo.
@@buildakicker Yep. Peter Line doesn't work for my simple math rule that I've tried to abide by for many years: for any airs over 25', the landing degree has to match or be greater than your age. Problem is, finding 55 degree landings is really difficult now...
@@scottgaffney7879 They look so good, tried out a pair from my work and super fun but just too soft tbh unless ur always skiing soft snow. How do you find them skiing through chop and hardback? May just be my skill lacking haha

8 minutes of fire skiing Scott. Glad to see you're still killing it out there!
Thanks. When the snow's good, I'm good!

Wow. Nice stuff. Well done. Thank you for posting.

Some of the best content I've seen in a while, more of this raw footage please!!
Thanks. I'll try to do a little more of it on the good days.
Wonderful video Scott! What a cool way to experience the mountain. You're a legend
I’ve been visiting pali skiing the last 4 days and dude is crushing all the best zones i had the pleasure of riding. Amazing resort. So many cliffs.
It's a playground, that's for sure.
Dude, you had a great day on the mountain, kudos. 👌🙏🏽🤘🏽
Great runs-and god bless your quads.
Thanks! Hammer them hard in the fall so you can hammer them hard through the winter!

Haha--maybe it looks scarier on camera!
Your skis are going to be begging for a wax job after some of those cliff scrapers lol, great footage!
I saw a sticker on a patroller's helmet at ABasin a couple of weeks ago that said, "Rocks are snow too" :)
The steeper the rock, the less damage!
Nailing all the classics
Booming lines Scott!
Thanks, Steven!
Like a little kid in Disneyland that knows exactly the rides he needs to hit for the best conditions in a specific order. Brilliant!
Nice lines! Definitely digging this format!

Bases don't need to be so perfect when you're skiing pow!
@scottgaffney7879 Ain't nothing a little P-Tex can't fix. Lol 🤪 Happens to all of us. Seriously, badazz run Scott!
Phenomenal! Incredible courage.
I like the heavy panting...I do it too now...which makes sense because my last season pass at Squaw was '89-90 season (when I was 19).
You're the madman that this world needs
Ha--anything but a madman. These are all kind of standard fare here.
Great lines and a great vid'. It really says something when your skiing scares me as much or more than any of the young bucks at Squaw!
Ah, thanks. But unlike the kids, I do very few "maybes," meaning I'm 95% sure I'm stomping everything I try.
no "maybes".. just STOMPS - I like that :)@@scottgaffney7879
Love squaw
Still FIRING after all these years, such stoke!!!!!
Well, thank you! 🤘🤘
7:45 is insane
Yeeaaa.... Nope!
Just a mini-tumble off either side. 🤪
legend.
I dunno about that, but thanks.
Not only hitting great features, but properly skiing out, not just hanging on for dear life like most straight line kooks these days.
Nice vid!
Get the CR Johnson Lines! Got to meet him about a month before he passed.
That was so much fun! Thank you!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! I sure did.
Banger, indeed!
Squaw Valley ! Pristine snow!
Squaw bro
Epic link up, amazing use of time and lift timing. Those hits were sweet! What’s the line called off cornice/light tower you hit?
That would be Rock Maze in Cornice II

so basically what you're telling me look for the yellow Cliff signs and ski past them?
That's where the fun begins!
holy fucking shit youre a fucking stud. those cliff drops were gnarly bud
Kind of the standard fare here and the same things I've been hitting for 30 years, but thanks!
gnarly!!
So fun seeing a talented skier on a "hill" he knows well.
Home court advantage definitely comes into play.
Nice one
dude you should post more often !
It eats into real life!
Those rocks will take you out of the bindings.
Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't!
that small slab at 1:49 spooked me
The exits left and right would have worked but I didn't want to get pulled off my line!
Me too... Raised the hair on my neck a little!
Boss lines!
Dude you're sending
Everything's relative, right?
so good
When you know a mountain and her sweet ways...( I would'a kept up...barely...)
I'd say I literally know this one better than the back of my hand...
Always enjoyed Squaw Valley. Tons of awesome terrain.
I was hoping for the peter line
Huck!
Oh wait, did you ski left of broken back?

SQUAW VALLEY!!
Rad!
Still a grom! hyped!
Sometimes that's not a great thing (ask my wife).
Sick
Sick footage, Sick skiing! the only thing is you should work out your export settings. Even in 1080 it looks a bit off
Thanks, and yeah, I kinda overlooked the permanence of YT and just wanted a quicker export/upload. I'll opt for 4k from here on out.
@scottgaffney7879 constant bit rate is what you need to export with. If you use variable then you'll be giving yt the lowest bitrate to use
Ripping 🤙
Squawski
I just wanna be like you when i grow up, thank you so much lol
Best plan of attack is to not grow up!
what skis are they?
K2 Reckoner 112s, my almost everyday ski.

SQUALLYWOOD
How do I be you?

You mean old and a bum?
@@scottgaffney7879 If I could absorb some of your skill without the other stuff that would be idea lol. But I'll take what I can get 😁
@@scottgaffney7879 brother, if this is how you ski as an old bum then yes, it means I'll only get better with age 😅
