    As someone who has severe ADHD (and has been struggling with getting myself organized, lol) I would say this is all pretty solid advice on how I would want someone to approach working with me. I really appreciate the points you make on how quickly we get exhausted and how you stress that we're not lazy. I would also like to REALLY stress to folks the importance of visual organization and the need to contain things rather than hide them. Break every step to a task down to its absolute most bare bones down to reaching your hand out to open a cabinet or drawer and try to figure out how you can eliminate as many of those micro-steps as possible, ESPECIALLY if it involves having to leave the area

    I’m not a professional organizer, just an ND looking for tips and this came up in my feed. I continued listening just out of curiosity and wanted to commend you for this content. I didn’t even know someone like you existed, but it makes me feel so glad you do, and you’re helping others learn how to help their adhd clients and handle them with care. Kudos.

    9:40 New years eve. I'm exhausted but it's pretty tidy for guests after 3 days of hyperfocus and 8 hours of sleep in total. Filled bags everywhere hidden to speed things up. You get the picture.
    My mom: "It's okay. This week you can declutter the rest of the house".
    And again, another year passes.

    Lol I'm ADD and so are my clients. How funny that I'm advising them on the same things I struggle with... although I've improved a lot😂 The one hand test, I call it motion minded but same concept. One client wants me to do their whole house, probably in only a few hours lol so I will definitely talk to them and manage their expectations. Thanks for the great pointers!

    Does anybody know where I can acquire the "H" in ADHD? I only have "ADD" and I could really use some of that "H" to get anything done at all. At least I would get nothing accomplished faster. 🥴

      @@ispeakorganized Do you ask them directly, "Are you ADHD?" How do you broach that gracefully?

    • @ispeakorganized
      @ispeakorganized  Год назад +3

      @@honeydew4576 Usually, that's the first thing they tell me. If not, I ask them what challenges them with getting organized. I ask them about habits and lifestyle to determine what strategies will work best. My ADHD organizing strategies work in most cases either way. 🙂🙂
