I've been listening to this non-stop for 2 days and just realized that this is an interpretation of the original "The Little Mermaid" story, in which the mermaid's sisters give her a dagger so that she can kill the prince and regain her tail.
Simone appears to be the little mermaid, Myrkur and Charlotte are the sisters. Except in their version the mermaid does kill the prince and reunites with her siblings (unlike in the story, where she refuses and turns into foam). Really awesome and well-written lyrics. And what a fantastic song.

The best part is the singers did this collab because they both were obsessed with The Little Mermaid from the old original version and loved mermaids so they decided to create this masterpiece ❤️

Simone's voice has no comparison at all. I can stay the whole day listening her and fall in that deep state of "nothing else care". After 20 years hearing Epica is a big surprise that year after year they become better and better. Like Charly Garcia says "Say no more"

La influencia de Myrkur en la parte atmosférica le da un toque envolvente. Las tres tienen voces majestuosas con buenos contrastes y los backing vocals de todas haciendo melodía es un deleite. Una de las mejores colaboraciones del año.

La única que no conocía es a Myrkur, yo que soy un apasionado del metal sinfónico, me lo apunto para escucharlo. Aunque según wikipedia no es Metal sinfónico, sino Black Metal
El problema de esta música es que se torna aburrida. Le falta fuerza, es bastante flojo.

The song gave me instant chills and the visuals reminded me of the Brides of Dracula, luring people to them with their striking beauty, to then finish them off (I know they're basically sirens but still) especially with the black dresses and overall looks, I'm in love with all their aesthetics tho

Absolutely incredible. The way the arrangement works the 3 voices around each other is sublime. Charlotte and Mykur are 2 of my favourite singers so to see all 3 together.. wow. For anyone new to Mykur, highly recommend Leaves of Yggdrasil, it's just spine tinglingly gorgeous.
1st listening: Hmm ok. Nice song.

I'm in a "see this knife is sharp" phase, I just loop that.
This is utterly incredible. I understand that Epica (and Delain and Myrkur) aren't exactly chart-topping bands (which is a legit travesty), but how is this song not more widely recognized? These three ladies may very well possess the top three female voices in all of music, and Epica have exceptional musical talent. The arrangement, musicianship, lyrics, hell, even this video, are all top-notch. I hope we are gifted with a live version at some point, as well as additional collaboration between these three.

This is the beauty of Epica; never afraid to "push the envelope". Stay within their realm of epic/symphonic, but never sure what you are going to get as a whole. This cd is in my mailbox as I type this, so will be there when I get home!!

Holy Crap, I didn't know Myrkur sounded like that. This song came up on Spotify, and I knew it was Charlotte and Simone, but then I was like who is this other person singing at @1:55 then I looked at the song and it said Myrkur. I know who Myrkur is, but never really listened to her. Now, I think I will. What a sultry siren voice. Great song.

The collaboration is amazing and I love the lyrics also. It so usual for songs about sirens to talk about seducing men but this tells the story of H.C. Andersen's tale about The Little Mermaid from the perspective of the sisterly love. It's so beautiful ❤️
Simone said is a mystery who the victim is. I would say the lyrics tell they murdered the man to get their sister back.
